Desigining an ancient Skyship
« on: March 08, 2017, 03:59:43 pm »

This is meant to be similar to the Designing the Titan's Drifter. However, instead of being a spaceship in a sci-fi universe, this is a massive, ancient, flying ship thing in a fantasy universe.

Rules:

Please don't contradict anyone massively

Please focus your posts on one aspect

I'll start: The ship has a living dragon claw embedded in the wall of one cargo hold. No one knows where the rest of the dragon is, but the crew is careful to stay away, as it occasionally lashes around.

A hatch in the rear underhull opens to allow access to the ship's compliment of three sky dinghies, for easier excursions to the ground where no mooring facilities exist. Or for use in stealth raids.

A colony of gnomes has taken up residence in the air ducts and unused areas of the sky ship. They steal to survive, often stealing objects that seem important to the crew. They're immune to magic and sing in the early hours of the morning.

The skyship is actually built around a giant, living, flying duck demon that powers the ship.

Birthdays have a long tradition of being a big deal on this ship.

The crew is sufficiently large that there is almost a party going on every day. Somewhere.

There is a massive floating canvas sack that is held above the ship by thousands of ropes. Much to the dismay of clouds and cloudwatchers alike, it will draw clouds into itself and they will never be heard from again. It is generally full of water and serves as the water-supply for the whole ship. It is theorised that it floats due to an enchantment that relates it to clouds, but so long as untold tonnes of water aren't falling and crushing whatever is underneath there doesn't seem to be any cause for concern.

There is a large, MAGICAL cannon at the fore of the ship. It is powered by the duck demon's hate of living things, and fires energy beams.

Some of the gnomes took some water from the canvas sack and made a garden on the skyship, filled with high-altitude plants.

The ship's crew is all extremely old, yet they look rather young, maybe in their 30s. This is because the Duck Demon's magic stops aging.

The gnome garden grows a variation of wheat. They gnomes grind it using a zombie to power the mills. The duck demons powers the zombie.

Some say that the Duck Demon's name is actually Duck Demonicus, because it uses a very strange and ancient language of power, Latin.

Somewhere within the crew, a powerful necromancer is masquerading as an officer.

The second-in-command is named X-O, and he has a hook hand.
