Because we're out in the open and getting hit from all sides, as opposed to huddled inside a brick building tanking a single point of entry.

But, whatever.

I suppose the question is: is it possible to actually get to the escape without the enemies catching up to us?

Holing up would be 30 turns of grinding misery but if they don't have anything beyond 2 range there's very little they could do to break the deadlock of someone behind the door being covered by mages and a healer.

But even if we kill them all, they get reinforcements right? We can't win a battle of attrition, even if they funnel into the choke point nicely.

Reinforcements (as stirk said before I posted this).  Keep in mind, this is no where NEAR all the enemies in the town, and we can expect both more to show up and the promos to get involved if we dally too long.  Plus, BM's saying that the enemies on the map won't all come at once.  Not sure how much truth there is there--wouldn't be the first time a DM said something like that to trick players--but I'm willing to believe it.

So, I'm willing to try running for it.  Particularly with the storm to help us.

Initially, however, we should use the exterior of the building to cover one of our flanks for the first turn. Once the rain hits we can probably have an easier time trying to break through.

So, plannish.  Thing.  Tentative, mind you.  Don't do anything yet.

Liam to 15, 8.
Roux to 14, 9.
Farra to 14, 8.  Overwatch.
Brock to 12, 9.  Equip iron axe, for now.  And no, we don't want Sam to bard him onto the hill, as that leaves a space open for the cavaliers to charge in, and filling it would require endangering someone squishier.
Esther to 13, 9.
Sam, 13,8.  Drum kaldach. We're gonna probably want to get in position to boost both brock and esther next turn, since they'll be needed to cut down the spear losers most efficiently (I think esther's the only one actually capable of damaging the knight, other than Kaldach with the devil sword).  That's subject to change, though.
Kaldach to 16, 7.
Sharne to 12, 8.
Martyn to 15, 7.
Bert to 13, 7.

If we're worried about the weapon triangle getting in the way in the coming EP, Sam's drums can allow those performed to ignore penalties caused by being on the wrong end of the triangle. Any chance that could help?

Yeah, actually.  Let me check the map a bit and edit the plan to reflect that.

Unless I misunderstand something, I think Brock can hurt the Knight too. At least with the Iron Axe. (19 AT +WTA-16 defense).....Granted, it would just be a scratch :P.

Is it possible to drum Kaldach and Brock? Brock's got a possibility of getting attacked by a sword cavalier at 12-9, doesn't he?

I thought it was either bard both or drum only Kaldach for stat boost?

I was under the impression that bards could perform and produce instrument effects on two people at a time. I may be mistaken, but I thought I'd ask. ^^;

got clarification, pay me no heed
