"Don't really have the time for this shit." Yuki tackling her out of the way of the previous attack was helpful, but it wasn't really like she had time to sit around and twiddle her thumbs and hope to get protected here - she had to make sure the chaos down there didn't kill the VIP. So, without hesitating, Faith just blew the tomatoes on the side near the balcony prematurely, and then used her magic manipulation to push the explosion out entirely away from her. She followed hot on that explosion's heels, moving towards the presumably ruined railing of the balcony, getting faster, getting faster, and-

Faith leapt at high speed, her sights set on the remaining squad of Hunters that was not currently basically completely fucked, taking full advantage of her Awakened mobility to aim to get right above them before: "Get out of here!" A blast of purple-pink energy erupted from her feet to spread as a cone into the enemy squad, the diminished propulsion less capable of blasting her back through the sky and more just slowing or stopping her fall.

Faith uses magic manipulation to blow some of the tomatoes early and manipulate their explosion outwards, and then takes a running leap off of the balcony, stopping her fall by hitting as much of Hunter Squad C as she can manage with a Frightful Flight!

[Now Playing: Red Circle]

Shoving the table out of the way Faith braces herself against booth and kicks off, outfit forming around her as she blazes forward, twin jets of energy erupting from her hands. She ruptures the tomatoes in front of her, reaching in and forcing their payload outwards in premature detonation.

What follows is not a flash of light, not a blast, no, it's a deluge. A searing flood of burning tomato sauce. It's basically napalm. Which as it turns out has a rather nasty tendency to stick around. And stick to things. It's not a fun time in there.

Faith, doesn't have the time to stop. She doesn't have the time to clear it all out in time. She was going to crash straight into it, and unless she stopped herself right now she was going to get burned.

She pushes onward.

No time for hesitation. No time for complaint. Lives are on the line here.

She leaps into that burning hellscape and

OH GOD WHY DID SHE THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

IT BURNS! EVERYTHING FUCKING BURNS! OH MAN OH GOD OH FUCK WHY DID SHE DO THAT? FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF. OH SHIT, FLOOR!

Screaming, burning, and very badly hurt, Faith nearly crashes straight into Squad C,  a jet of pink and purple erupting from the girl-shaped conflagration as she doesn't so much slow her descent so much as she rockets away from the ground careening through the air like a deflating balloon before slamming against the side of the truck. Ow. Fuck.

FUCK.

Okay. Lesson learned, do not fuck with tomatoey napalm. She's at least managed to get the paste off of her thanks to her energy manipulation, and judging by the full-on rout happening right before her eyes, she did at least hit her targets, forcing them into a fearful frenzy during which they manage to call a magical bombardment circle on their position before fleeing for their lives. The twenty seconds or so of life they have left before the Doki Doki poisoning sets in anyways.

While this is all happening, Noriko is salty. Salt, pinned down, and sitting behind cover with two bombardment tracing above her head. Fuck this. Fuck Minato. Fuck Shef. Fuck all this bullshit. And fuck those snipers in particular.

The club's walls blow the fuck open, a stream of dust and debris smashing into their position spear-headed as it were, by a pair of enlarged spears. That, they had not planned for. Two of them perish instantly, buffered by debris and impaled. A third is crushed when Noriko crashes down literally ontop of them. The lone survivor tries to pick their ass off the ground and fire, but they're a bit too slow, something they realize as the spear pierces their chest. "Vasavi Shakti."

It is at this point that Yuki pop out of the exit portal to an absolute dearth of targets and fuck all to do.

So... positions and situations are as follows:

Shef is with Hanzo in an armored van half-lodged in the club's ground floor. Shef had successfully returned fire on Squad C in a more literal way than most so the van is undamaged, but the Hunters had managed to dive for cover in time. Before they y'know, got routed by Faith. Speaking of which, Faith is currently prone next to the van.

Minato is above, a tangle of vines spraying deluges of napalm bukkake all over him and pinning him down. About as much as one can pin the man surrounded by explosive shields anyways. He's completely unharmed thanks to him summoning several shields in a testudo formation around him, and while he is currently backed against a wall, he can easily blow through the wall and access the van.

Right across the street Noriko and Yuki are positioned on a rooftop, which offers a good view of everything happening around them. Like how Squad D have all become Judgement Dopants and are fanning out of the alley under them, firing shards of stained glass at the armored van. Or how more vines are tearing out of the club and trying to latch onto the van all while more pulsating tomatoes grow on them.

Kouta

Well, the Tesla had been useful, but he had to get moving now. The vehicle swerved around once again, attempting to place itself into the space between Tactical A and Kouta as the latter sprinted toward the elevator. As soon as he was out of the blast radius, he set it off, hopefully blowing the stubborn opponent away or buying him time to get into the elevator without being riddled with bullets. Once he was inside, he'd turn to blow down the squad in the fire escape, "firing" through the building using his enhanced senses.

Noriko

Noriko pulled herself off the roof, panting after striking her devastating blow against the marksman squad. She could still feel power running through herself, but the spear wielder had put a bit more than she meant into that last assault. She'd have to play it cautiously for a moment - but that didn't mean she couldn't do anything. The trio of lances darted down into the alleyway below, attacking the squad of Dopants and attempting to interfere with their shots moreso than actually trying to kill them.

"Bon- er, good work!" Yuki said as she found her targets already gone, but it was soon time to get back to work - she had some targets yet. Looking down at the dopants, she'd jump from the roof and down towards the ground, firing out a few arrows as she went before using a Surprise Attack (of Justice!) (bump the last 4 in the line to 5 to do this with) to teleport among them - then, get to work; try to get them to shoot each other with grapples and throws, while continuing to fire as the opportunity presents itself.

If the mundane failsafe both goes off and takes care of the dopants on it's own, Yuki will try to get down to the van and also heal Faith if she sees her hurt, using the last 4 in her line.

After tossing Hanzo at the open van door, Shef stared blankly as the naked man just slumped out of the van. Just stay in the van? He had nonchalantly portalled a few few grenades away, then started awkwardly shoving the man into the van, stuffing limbs into the back, hoping these would keep the man stuck inside. He smacked a few buttons, and "We're moving out."

For now, he needed to take care of the vines. Portals to get a glimpse, then tracer round to hopefully take them out in one go.

Kouta
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: Nothing]

When a lithium ion battery goes up in flames, it really goes up in flames. There is rush of pale smoke and then an eruption of the flames. Flames spewing in all direction, a raging inferno that burns hot and burns long. A peristent blaze that is not so much doused so much as it is suppressed.

This is not that kind of explosion.

This is a proper explosion, a full on blast that annihilates the car. An arcane blast that reduces the vehicle to shrapnel. Whatever battery it had, it clearly wasn't standard.

The Tactical dives out of the way, riding the shockwave as shreds of what was once a car rip through the air, missing them by mere inches. Seizing your chance, you make a break for it, Yuri in tow as you sprint into the building.

The ground seems to lap up at your feet, carpeting and wallpaper oozing upwards, leeching into your hoodie. They blend with the concrete and asphalt, quickly subsuming them and taking their place. Adaptiveness camouflage? Well that's new. No time to think about it though.

The two of your rush into the elevator. You don't even wait for the doors to close you just seize control of it, and you just send it. Straight up.

You begin charging an arrow, keeping its trajectory trained on Squad C as you watch them through the cameras. Yuri for his part begins unscrewing the elevator's control panel, retrieving from behind it a loaded handgun, three magazines, and two autoinjectors. He slides one into you pocket.

"Healing potion" Enn explains.

You nod and let loose your arrow. The blast all but annihilating Squad C in the narrow confines of the stairwell.

You reach the roof about the same time as the Dopant Squad. Though of course, you know they're there and they don't know you're there. Elevator doors are still closed up here, you're watching them through a security camera.

Your friends are there. In theory, you could just stay here. Out of sight. Shoot them with your arrows through the doors. They won't even know where the shots are coming from. You were considering that.

But then you see the squad leader produce a black shriveled heart. A heart that yet beats, a monstrous pulsing heart beat that seems to reverberate across the roof.

And you see, that one by one, the stars above begin to go out as darkness descends upon the rooftop. Something is happening.

There's six grunts, one squad leader, and four hostages (three of your friends and Mrs. Kato). They don't know you and Yuri are here. Shouldn't be too hard closing the distance - they don't know you're hear just yet.

Huh, does that mean they don't have a way to communicate with the Tactical down below? You cast your vision down to ground level, cycling through cameras. Apparently they're currently busy robbing a liquor store.

As much as Faith really, really wanted to just lie there for a few moments, she'd been covered in horrific burning and then bounced wildly until she'd thumped into the hard side of an armored van, after all, and it REALLY HURT A FUCKING LOT, AFTER ALL, GOD FUCKING DAMN... well, they really weren't out of the woods yet, and she wasn't about to give up just because of a bit of INTENSE PAIN. Mumbling a <"Incendiary fucking tomatoes, Jesus Christ, who even comes up with this shit?"> Faith brought herself up to her feet, taking in Shef's actions as she did so. Not really wanting to cram herself into a back area with a questionably-settled naked yakuza, she clambered into the passenger side of the vehicle (cutting past Shef through the driver's side door if she had to, she didn't give a damn), and drew a deep breath, popping a shield around herself and then focusing on forming a larger shield around the truck - not the typical Shield of Courage, not a Shield of Apathy, but the multicolored shield she'd trained with the twins to create, the one that would sap strength from several projectiles instead of just stopping one. "Looks like you've got the vines, so I'm going to see if I can help deal with incoming fire."

Faith gets into the passenger side door, pops a Shield of Apathy around herself, and then focuses entirely upon putting up that one multicolored shield from the eternal beach episode around the van.

Team Clusterfuck
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: Yellow Line]

Minato slams a shield against the wall, detonating it. Through the debris he leaps landing between the van and the Judgement Dopants, their initial spray of glass glancing off his forgeries as Noriko's spears crash down in their midst, aiming to bludgeon and harass like a trio of angry telegraph poles in the middle of the mating season, a tactic that proves to be rather effective in denying the Dopants the chance to maintain their bead on the van.

It's at this point that Yuki teleports into their midst. Seizing one Dopant with her gauntlet while putting a burst of arrows into the other. Armor cracks and crumbles as the Dopant staggers backwards, right into Minato.

Shields, not the worst weapons. Certainly not the best but a heavy hit with the edge could be pretty damaging, especially with Minato's strength. That being said, that armor looked reasonably sturdy and he didn't have all day. Or a proper anti-armor weapon for that matter. He did have a chain though. A chain which he quickly wraps around the Dopant's neck, wrestling them to the ground as he draws the cake knife, spirit energy pumping into the blade as he drives it deep into the their throat, wrenching it out in a spray of paint.

Yuki meanwhile simply grabs her Dopant by the head and kicking one of Noriko's spears into the right orientation, bashes it against the spearhead until the helmet buckles and gives way.

Meanwhile inside the van, Shef just stuffs Hanzo into the back, opening a series of portals right into the loading zone.

Okay so aside from all the giant fucking tomato vines it looks like an otherwise perfectly normal loading zone and not an Escher-esque hellscape or something. That's a good start.

He also finds the source of the vines, a humanoid wireframe figure with tomato vines wrapped all around them. His Surgeon's Eyes kick back in, confirming his suspicions - it's a projection, no different to Victoria's nurse or the Man of Steel's summons. Hitting it would cause disruption, but the more permanent solution would be killing what stands next to them.

It's, okay yeah, it's another Hunter. Fancier one too clad in custom fit armor build around one of those distortion harnesses the AIs mentioned. A big shot he'd have to presume. Got a motorbike, handgun, and combat knife. Primary weapon resembles an Accuracy International AS50 anti-material rifle. Resembles. Probably isn't. He's dealt with some pretty wild clients before, but not even the most deranged would do this to a rifle. It's uh, well imagine if someone saw a sawn-off shotgun and thought "hey, why not extend that treatment to a rifle instead?" because that's what he sees. The barrel has been completely sawn off, the stock, bipod, and scope have all been removed. Oh and there's a magic circle floating at its front. Well, uh, that's certainly one way to make a weapons. As he watches he sees the weapon shift in the Hunter's hand, the grip shifting to be a little more ergonomic, the magic circle growing larger, more complex.

He opens another portal this one in front of his gun its terminus feeding into his peephole. The last thing he sees before he fires is the Hunter glancing to see the portal and uttering a name: "「Mr. Brightside」".

The Tracer rips through the portals, cannibalizing the last few to cut off any chance of retaliation or backblast.

Tge effect is instant, the vines near the truck shrink back, as of sucked violently back into their source. Faith slams the door and Shef floors the accelerator.

A second set of end portals opens inside the loading zone. Target is unharmed, managed to use that projection to protect themselves at the last minute.

Still, it's brought them some time and cleared out all the nearby vines. He switches the autopilot on and checks the glovebox. Five healing potions, three energy potions, and an arcane nitro unit with three charges.

Faith, you pop your shield and get to work popping up another one around the truck. A star shield like the one you made on the beach. That one time. In controlled circumstances. Where you still cried. And not around a whole van either. Oh God.

Okay no pressure.

Haha a lot of of pressure actually. Because you see the shield is kept from the collapsing because of the "radiation pressure" counteracting the grav-okay fuck it three two one you're doing this shit.

There's a flash of gold, a golden shield springing to the life around the truck. Then comes the purple, crushing down against it. Crushing inwards. You let it. You let it breach the surface let it mix together, the good and the bad as you pump more and more energy into the system, the shield igniting with magic. Prominence rise from its roiling surface, the purple inwards, the out outwards. A nascant star born of your resolve, born of your emotions, burning into the ground, melting the asphalt OH GOD OH FUCK.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck you didn't think this would happen. The purple glow is deepening oh fuck. Um uh. Okay so, it turns out if enough of the sphere overlaps the ground it starts uh, melting said ground. And it's kinda hard making anything other than a sphere like this. It kinda naturally tends towards one so no some balloon for now.

Okay okay firstly, you dismiss the field before it melts out the ground under the van (you wince as you notice Shef spreading Reinforcement to protect the road) and start over from square one.

Okay, okay, let's start off simple shall we? You can manipulate energy, but you shouldn't any more than neccesary. Make it easier cast, easier to maintain long term. Hmm, how about an arcing shot?

You use them whenever you do a Hit For Hope. Highly condensed, but there's not strictly any reason for you to do so. If you fire it up and...

A tiny mote of energy sparks out of the topic of the van, arcing into the ground. Okay not too hard and that gave you an idea of how long it needs to last. Too long and it burns the ground. Easy enough, just got to repeat it. En masse.

Motes of purple and gold begin flying out above the van, arcing toward the ground. They start off small and grow smaller and smaller, smaller yet greater. Greater in volume, in number.

There are no more motes, no singular shots. It is a deluge. A rain. A mist.

A dome of mist, decaying inches above the ground. Anything that touches it will burn. Not too hard to maintain either.

It does have the limitation that it's going to be weaker further down as the energy dissipates, but it's the price you have to pay to avoid mel-

"There's an easier way to do that you know!"

Huh, what?

"Keep the condensation, but remove the velocity and gravity, increase lifespan a bit."

Hmm okay so actually a bit easier even and now the truck is just shrouded in an energy haze and faint love hearts. Will that really work?

"Yup! It's compressible and will burn things proportional to relative velocity!"

Huh, that fixes the ground issue, and since it's a haze rather than a dome it should provide some protection against those explosion-at-point blasts those Hyperspace fuckers seem to like using. Well as long as it doesn't happen right inside the truck anyways.

"Fairy Floss Reactive Armor - perfectly safe for human use outside of enclosed spaces!"

Why would it not be safe inside of an enclosed- oh. Right okay yeah that makes sense.

No threats in sight (Though Alumunus A is probably hauling ass over).

((Those of you not in the van may wanna get in or make your own transport arrangements.))

Noriko

Seeing the van pull away with a shield presumably cast by Faith, Noriko elected to make her exit now. Riding off the remaining energy from the surge she'd called up earlier, she darted into the sky. She briefly considered just heading directly home; dealing with the rest of the group wasn't exactly something she wanted to do at the moment. Unfortunately, that wouldn't save her from the argument at all, and so she followed above the van, watching for pursuing threats.

Then at the people in pursuit.
"Ah. Shit."

Luckily for him, he had options. Options in the form of-
"Regalia Mode: Vimana."
Alter to 4, summon Vimana to keep in pursuit of the van.

"Oh hi." He greeted Faith as he started up the vehicle and peeled away from the building. He glanced over again, a searching look on his face. "Don't worry too much about the shield."

When it came to the manipulation of motor vehicles, Shef was capable, but by no means excellent. In particular, Yoake o-Shiri he was not. This rather dull fact was what stayed his hand for a moment in reaching for the nitro unit. Enough time for Yuki to make her request. The rear view mirror revealed Minato's situation, and of course, Noriko could fly. That was everyone.

"Tomato mage has a motorbike, probably following us soon. Might be going dark here, meet at the sanctuary." Shef waited till Yuki was firmly in the van, before, and there was the tricky part, remembering the experiences that were not his.

Use an energy potion, and use King Crimson [R] and try to lose the pursuers. Utilize portals as well, and ditch the van when this feat seems accomplished.

Okay, so, some of you will be on the van. Some of the you may not. But you're all going to end up in the same place one way or another, assuming you don't decide to fuck off and get drunk instead. So when it comes down to it, whether you proceed with your current action or you also pile into the van, the outcome of remains the same.

Now the thing is about car chases is, despite what Hollywood likes to show you don't want to drive fast, rather you want to drive precisely. You want to evade your pursuers, lose them, not outrun them. It's a bit easier here of course when you can drive into a fortified Sanctuary, but as Shef realizes, the Hunters might be preparing an ambush en route. There are only so many fortified Sanctuaries in this area after all.

So why give them chance?

He jabs himself with an energy potion and retrieves the nitro unit, a telescoping spike designed to be stabbed into a car. A feature that wouldn't be neccesary here - the van's purpose-built and comes with a nice easy receiver for it. He flips up the nitro button on the steering wheel, disabling the autopilot. His aura rushes outwards enveloping the van and he hits the button.

To all of you inside the van, you find it yourselves waking up. Except of course you never fell asleep. And you're pretty sure you don't sleep with your eyes wide open either. Last thing you remember, Shef hit the nitro and now this. You're entering an underground carpark of sorts, not too far down the road from where you began. Your eyes flicker to the clock, three seconds have passed.

To everyone outside the van, as far as you can tell, the van just simply vanishes. There's no flash of light, no ring of flames, no arcing lightning, no psychedelic corona. One moment it was there, the next it's gone.

Shef parks the van, jabbing himself with a second energy potion. Enn shreds your covers. The Godslayers in that club, they have simply ceased to be. To the world around you, you are who you are once more. Makes it that much harder to find you. Hanzo, he didn't have a cover. And he's naked. A problem, but a solvable one.

Shef hops out for a bit and returns with a scarf and coat. Benefits of his Requiem. Hanzo, well, he's going to look like a probable flasher now, but he's at least not naked and he's well under Shef's control to boot.

Rendezvousing outside, you make your way into the crowds of Sendo's nightlife, slipping away. Your destination - the safehouse.

((Happy for y'all to skip forwards to being at the safehouse with Hanzo held in an interrogation chamber if you'd rather start going at each other's throats there other than outside. Encounter's over either way though.))

Kouta

"They're doing something out there," Kouta said, keeping his voice low and quiet despite it being largely unnecessary in the enclosed space. "One of them has some weird black heart thing and it's doing, um, something. Like it's sucking in the light." He tensed, preparing to move as soon as the elevator reached the top floor. "I'm going to try to get close and then shoot it before something really bad happens." After that, he'd use another one of the modules he seemed to have; hopefully it helped, because it seemed powerful.

Alter to 5. Use Ardent Module after firing the initial shot - assuming the AIs don't say to not - and start trying to get them away from the hostages.
If shooting the Anomaly is a bad idea, shoot the one holding it instead.
