Shef aware of the power of the summoners commands already, found this development quite unnerving. She'd been commanded to hunt him down, what tools did she have for the job? Teleports, for the approach, but the wouldn't help to locate him. Disembodied swings, immunity, white phosphorus--could she track that? Perhaps, perhaps. But if she could, she'd have known about him exiting the building. The cough, maybe. But his illusion, in covering his voice, should cover that as well. Well, she'd probably be on alert for any sounds, any sights.

For now, if he could help Yuki with her target, he'd be able to heal, and that might be enough. And to do that. . . no, he'd not be attacking directly. Magnum von Chainsaw--what kind of godforsaken name--seemed supremely resilient. It would be better to let Yuki do the heavy lifting, and just give that little push. He put his pistol down into one of the seats, yet another layer of sound dampening, and began charging a requiem bullet. It would be portaled out of the barrel of the gun, a few seats down, and then into the air towards Magnum. Shef was alert for any approach, every single cached portal ready to be used, and tensed to close the portal behind his bullet as quickly as possible. But beyond that, the command.

Manipulator[5], disguise the location the bullet is shot from, portals on the way to avoid interference and approach from a blind spot, and finally, portal the round into Magnums stomach, if possible. Otherwise the bullet might crumple against Magnum's abs. The command is to smash his own head with the upcoming attack

"Using anthrax on people is a warcrime you know! Although actually do you know? Does this place have warcrimes? Anyway."

Chain lightning with furthest 6 down the line. Charge forward as if not paying attention to the feeling - but also send out an arrow again, similar tactic as last time. If the attack comes out and Yuki has time to notice, try to manually trigger the arrow and keep charging from a different direction. If it's actually a psych-out, stop short of entering his range and let the arrow make contact.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: lixAxil]

"<Huh, that's weird. It's pretty legal here. We do have warcrimes but anthrax ain't one.>"

Iaijutsu is fairly simple in concept - you take your sword, you draw it, and you cut a fucker down. Supposedly the art is for self-defense, in practice it works the other way too. Speed is important, but well let's face it - the guy who has to whip his sword out first is gonna be at a speed disadvantage. And for the love of God do not resheath your fucking sword afterwards, not unless you got a damn deathwish. You're getting jumped, you had to fight to get your weapon out the fuck you doing holstering it again?

Sadly anime and reality aren't on speaking terms no more. In anime it's just taken to absurdity. You got these people fucking slashing apart bullets and buildings with that shit nevermind physics, distance, or basic fucking logic. The Awakened world flip flops between the two. Striking from your sheath offers no inherent advantage but it's a condition, and ritual magic loves conditions like that. Point is, what you're seeing now is the anime kind of situation and Magnum von Chainsaw puts the fucking nuke in nukitsuke.

Your black arrow? Fucking gone. Demolished. Annihilated. In an instant he drew his fist from his pocket, and in that same instant he punched, this pillar of sheer force slamming down on the arrow, the stage splintering and burning with nuclear hellfire as its reinforced fragments rend tear at you like shrapnel.

The impact forces you off-balance as he draws his other fist, IRRESISTIBLE CRUSHING MIGHT CRASHING FORWARD INTO HIS OWN FACE.

Wait what?

Yeah so he kinda just iaijutsu punches himself in the face and flips into the the air. Is, is this some kind of weird taunt? Some kinda evasive maneuver? You can't really tell but he seems as shocked as you are and he actually has taken damage from his blow.

He grits his teeth and narrows his eyes, readying for your counterattack.

Shef, you feel him straining against your control, trying to figure a way out. You feel something else too, straining with him. The hell, is there some sort of other compul- oh, right shit, did the Summoner give him an order too? That would explain it. You'd overpower him completely if it weren't for that, though it seems even with that it takes an awful lot of effort to resist. A wrestling match with his own body, bad enough by itself, even worse with him facing down Yuki, and with the bullet in his stomach, he's not freeing himself of that anytime so-

Your vision explodes into stars, your illusion collapses, and the world seems to spin.
"<Gotcha.>"

Piercing the floorboards. Piercing out of the ground to strike you, is a rolled up newspaper. She's beneath you! There's passages under the seating!

A ring of cleavers erupt around you, a prison of blades. Seven cleavers forged of light. Seven cleavers ready to burst.

"<Incinerate.>"

This is bad. Yeah no shit. How the hell did she track you anyways? Hard to tell but your best guess is she yeah, used the anthrax to track you. No way she could've tracked the shot. Couldn't have been something she could normally do - you'd think she'd have saved her comrades if she could sense you. No, this is probably related to those three decrees. A heightening of her capabilities. Yeah, sounds about right.

White phosphorous and anthrax are gonna spew out from well, all of them. You're winded, your body's shaking, reverberating with the newspaper's impact. You're not going to be able to make an airtight portal barrier. An expulsor might be able to force the powder away but Sera will likely just hit you again, keep you on the defensive, crush you with that cleaver.

Damn it all. What can you do? What can you use?

You have two grenades, the frag probably won't do much. The binding, maybe you could bind the both of you? Try and go for a portal trick shot with your blade when you're both unable to move? You've got that manipulator in Magnum too, control, limited control of his might, and that remaining nuclear arrow of his. You've got plastic explosives, enough to cause some internecine havoc. You've got clothing damage rounds too, not loaded, but maybe you can make something work with them too. Set them off or something. Oh also y'know Yuki. The girl with the chainsaw who can heal and teleport.

Faith, Minato, you guys just hear this commotion and turn around to see a ring of glowy blades erupt around Shef. Also for some reason he's shirtless. Also, and this is kinda off-topic but, damn the guy takes care of himself.

Could this exact position be turned to victory? Not unless that victory was immediate, as Shef suspected that even if he did not immediately lose from this attack, his survival would be intensely limited in duration if he took it head on. He had the binding grenade, and the unaffixed blade. But using them now would be suicidal. There was no guarantee that the adventuress, Sera?, was exactly where he thought beneath him.

Then, he needed to get back to the spotlight, where he could both be healed, and draw Sera out. He began the quick procedure of drawing out an expulser round, though it felt achingly slow now, and then detonated it at his chest, to push him towards one side of the blade cage. Or rather the portal directly in front of that side. A calculated choice, as a portal below would have taken more time to move through, more time in the anthrax. With this, he'd be flying up towards the opposite side of the stage from Magnum and Yuki.

Expulser [3] and a portal behind Shef to propel him out of blade cage, and in a path to the stage. It won't help, but modify with portals away from a direct ballistic path. Cached portals ready for the disembodied blade slash, but not to be wasted on the causality manipulating stun sword. Use the remaining control effects to distract Magnum, first by having him think he has to pay attention to Shef, and then, to think it'd be so much cooler if he posed for a few seconds before actually defending. Sera would love it, don't mind the summoner's command protesting, it's cause he's jealous.

Yuki, not really noticing whatever had happened to MAGNUM VON CHAINSAW, decided not to let it distract from her advance - she leaped after him, and quickly teleported behind him to try and finish him off, deploying a black arrow to circle around to hit from the other angle at the same time.

Alter to 4, SURPRISE ATTACK OF JUSTICE with last 5, do above.

Shef, yeah you're in the bonezone right now. The blades reverberate with those sonorous heartbeat and then just blow, just fucking hotboxing you with white phosphorus and anthrax, this burning iron maiden of unpleasantry. Your expsulsor goes and you portal the fuck out. There's a strange bit of weight, or resistance you feel.

Sailing through the air, you see a ribbon wrapped around your ankle. A ribbon attached to a newspaper sword. The Adventuress appears above you and brings a silver sword down.

Unfortunate. You're hurt. Severely hurt. Not quite at the cusp of losing, but you're in the neighborhood. Especially since it's getting hard to breath. There's no guarantee that Yuki can heal you in time. Not if Magnum puts up too much resistance. But Sera followed you, and that would cost her - effects like the ones afficting you, the white phosphorus burning your body, the anthrax prolifersting in your lungs, they tend to whither when the power's cut. And you sure as hell can cut the power now. She doesn't know it yet, but your blade is loose and all it will take is another expulser to drive it through her chest.

Just need to deal with the nuclear arrow screaming down at you. Shouldn't be too hard.

Yuki you teleport behind MAGNUM VON CHAINSAW preparing too go all nothing personal kid on his ass. It's at this point that something forces him to flex letting you strike him easily BUT HIS ABS ARE EVEN HARDER WHEN HE FLEXES AND YOUR PUNY CHAINSAW GLANCES OFF HIS (NOT PARTICULARLY) MUSCLED FRAME. Thankfully your black arrow and the ensuing chainsaw lightning don't give a fuck, launching him back and putting him on the brink of defeat.

Course he's not just gonna just sit there and take it like a slut, he's about to make use of that widened distance between you two and strike you with another iaijutsu fist.

An opening. Hopefully she wouldn't be expecting his purchases, and hopefully, she hadn't made any of her own.

Four cached portals to suddenly cause the nuclear arrow to suddenly impact the theater floor a ways away. Curl down to stab at the adventuress, and when she inevitably parries or dodges out of range, launch the knife with Expulser[3] and use all other cached portals to give it extra shots at the adventuress. Try to get the last portal such that if it's also blocked or deflected, it's behind the adventuress, then activate the retrieval unit for one last sneaky shot.

Alter to 4, then send an arrow his way while rushing him behind it - when he punches it, SURPRISE ATTACK (last 5 on the line) him before he can return the fists to his pockets. Also non-hyper heal Shef if I have a second.

Faith, Minato, Shef, and Yuki
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: lixAxil]

Right so Yuki sends out another black arrow and that predictably gets crushed. Probably the biggest threat honestly given her newly sharpened Taoist magic. It, it's the right decision. But sometimes the right decision won't save you. The arrow is an extension of Yuki, a manifestation of her instincts, of possibilities, but it is not Yuki, and in the instant Von Chainsaw crushes it Yuki's own condition is satisfied. She teleports behind him, eyes glowing blue with an almost electric light white you gain a new appreciation for her chest courtesy of the new v-shaped cut in her dress-turned-leotard, an adjust made to compensate for what fabric the phosphorous had burned away.. She brings down her chainsaw. Magnum's fists are ready, he probably saw that coming, but well, Yuki's fast, much faster than she was last time you saw her, he can't turn fast enough to strike her down. He stomps, boot slamming into the stage, splinters reinforcing into shrapnel. It delays Yuki, but it's not enough. His fist slams into her chest.

Blood trickles from his arm. It wasn't a clean hit, it wasn't a good hit, but it was a hit and at this point it's all Yuki needed.

Shef, well, he deals with Broken Arrow well enough. That stab? Yeah, not the best idea. May wanna have a chat with him about that - this ain't Hollywood, Sera's not gonna do some wide parry she's just going to- yeah, that. She guides his blade away with her own and with the same motion just stabs him in the fucking throat, blade turning to light and summoning six more to help pin cushion him a little better. There's a pulse of force and Shef's blade tears through a portal at her. Course she isn't there anymore - she's teleported again to one of those swords. And another. And another. He catches her in the end of course, the blade piercing her chest and triggering her combat pass, but yeah, he really should've opened with that. The two combatants plummet to the ground, vanishing through a portal.

Shef, Yuki, you both extinguish and the anthrax's effects begin to subside.

Yuki cheerfully waved off MAGNUM VON CHAINSAW. "It was a good fight! Had a lot of fun! We should do this again sometime!" she called as he and the adventuress flew through the portal. Then she turned to Shef. Oh, you're here. Where did you go for like half the fight? Were you off chasing some lead on an archnemesis that you just had to follow even if it meant abandoning the fight? Or do a shady arms deal while nobody was looking? And weren't there more of- oooooh. Sorry for tunnel-visioning, I think?"

Shef relaxed as he fell through the floor, that was over with. He hadn't been sure about hitting after the extra swords appeared, but he'd been confident Yuki could finish things if necessary. He was however, glad that this necessity had not needed to be tested.

Shef stood up, dusting himself off, though the powder seemed mostly gone. <"Just wait here a moment, I'll be right back. If there's any paperwork, or post combat evaluation, have that ready.">

After waiting a moment for affirmation, Shef would portal out of the theater, activating his illusion, and would jog down the street to the nearest place he could find selling generic clothing.

Noriko
[Now Playing: Equal Rights]

Water runs down Patricija's body, the droplets tracing each and every one of her subtle curves, curves you can see in tantalizing detail, barely hidden neath the translucent fabric of her swimsuit.

She's dressed in a spray-on, a hydroreactive polymer coating that ressembles a school swimsuit in form, white and painfully innocent in a way that leaves entirely straight thoughts running through your head. Thoughts that only intensify the material mixes with water becoming cloudy and translucent, its new consistency just dense enough to maintain modesty and tight enough to make it remarkably immodest all the same. You can see almost everything and you're sure you could give it a few choice holes with a touch and just a bit of force. Not that you're thinking of doing anything like that, just well uh, y'know? Maybe you'll need to tear it off that lithe little frame of hers as you save her from err... white phosphorous? Yeah, that. That's probably a thing right?

It's not fully coherent either, whisps of it trailing out behind her and mixing into ethemeral trails of sheer fabric that caress those soft slender legs oh so enticingly. To sharks you mean. Definitely enticing to sharks. You're only running your gaze there because it's a novelty, that's all. There's a lot of things here you don't see back home.

In other news, water's wet and so are you. Y'know since you're in water. You're not gay.

Anyways... Patricija's not the only eye cand- person of interest near you.

There's a girl dressed in a hospital gown, sheer only as much to show a shadow of the figure beneath, with long boots to emphasize her legs and a jacket that you presume is here to provide access to warmth and pockets. Or at least she was dressed like that - she's just taken off finished taking off the gown, revealing what's best described as an approximation of a bikini made from bandages that dig in just enough to draw your eye in a completely heterosexual manner towards er... moving on! She's conjured a veil around her mouth and larger translucent cloth or shawl, blueish sigils painting themselves all over the body adding that little bit more sensuality and mystique to her appearance.

Her companion meanwhile has just taken off his shirt or rather magically dismissed, he's not got the biggest build - he leans more towards lean, but his abs are solid and his jacket is acting almost like a picture frame for them right now. Which would explain why you're staring at them but that's totally 100% okay because you're straight and that's what straight people do.

Yuki
"<Ho ho ho! Of course! I do not mind fighting you again little girl.>"

Shef
"<Okay, sure?>"
Well, there's a women's clothing store nearby, they probably have things in Sera and Yuki's sizes. Wait, what are their sizes?

Shef, after a moment of concern, realized that he probablyndid not need to stress over that. He headed into the store, searching instead for some items in adaptable sizes, a concept he was quite certain he would find.

As far as style, well he'd really just grab some things that appeared somewhat plain, not too ostentatious, for the two to cover up if they wanted. If they wanted something like what they'd been wearing before, they could do that on their own time. Shef was slightly disappointed he'd not found a more general store to get something for himself, the original purpose of this outing, but he'd just have to do that later.
