"Sorry to say this, but yes. The Society's resources are stretched, even with the help of people like the Kumons; too much on damage control, what with cameras and what not, eventually people'll get scared of supposed 'gas leaks'. I'd offer to help, but my Regalia's being repaired and also Foundry would kill me if I went into the field.

As for the factory....well, yes. There's people crazy enough to do it, and the Aramitama can make their own."

Hearing her exploits being mentioned, Yoake pipes up, still entirely underneath the kotatsu.

"Faiiith! You forgot to mention the part where I saved the day by catching that sword with my butt! It was so awesome, and everyone should've praised me more for it."

Slowly extending out of the kotatsu like a snake, she stands and stretches. "Anyway, I think the best course of action we can take is to find wherever this Arimitama's sanctuary is... and kill it! So we can fight the guy, head on! Also, taking out the factory would be pretty handy. But for you newbies..."

Yoake slowly thinks, creeping far too close to Faith, her side pressing against Faith's arm. "I could teach you guys a few things, if you'd liiike~ But it'd be best if we did that back at school! I still have a class to run!"

"Yes, I'm sorry, that was rude of me." Shef listened carefully as the origin of these particular Mononoke was explained.
"Any idea where this factory might be? Searching the city for a sanctuary with nothing else to go on seems...tedious. Yoake, I don't think there's a need for any of your teaching." A single day after meeting, both Yoake and Minato appeared to be focusing their attentions onto Faith. Odd. Would've thought that Minato would've gone for one of the maids.

Tsukasa raises an eyebrow at Shef but doesn't say anything.
"Well, I'll see what I can tell you from cutting these things up. Why don't you all sit down for a moment while I try to remember where my scalpel is?"
With that, Tsukasa wanders off into her bedroom for a few moments, dragging a curtain across the division between the living room and dining room.

After a few moments, the sounds of a knife cutting through something can be heard, followed by Tsukasa's grunts as she examines the parts. Given about twenty or thirty minutes, the curtain is swept aside, and Tsukasa, now wearing an apron over most of her clothes which seems to be stained with some odd iridescent fluid, emerges, her hair slightly mussed but otherwise none the worse for wear.

"Well. I say......for a bunch of newbies- and Minato- you're either lucky or way better than I thought you'd be."

"How so?" Shef's curiosity was now piqued. What had been discovered in the autopsy, and how?

Tsukasa frowns slightly.
"Well, they look modular. They look like they've been built from pre-made schematics and just kludged together carefully. Not elegant, but it works for what it's made for. The armor's ablative, designed to take hits well but chip off bit by bit. The weapons are powerful, but heavily damaged; seems like whoever made these didn't expect them to come back after killing you. They're pretty powerful but hard to repair; I could repair 'em, but it'd just get broken in about, say, a few minutes of operations. There's a little room for expansion; expected, given that these things were more or less built like LEGO bricks. Which brings me to the insides.

Most of the components were pretty badly damaged from overheating, but as far as I could tell, these things have souls or something similar. They used their souls as some sort of battery; it works, most Awakened like you and I could do the same, but the difference is that we can recover from it, even if we were to do the same thing in a small period of time and they can't. These things were more or less designed as bombs; blow you up and not get out alive. They're designed to use up their soul batteries and then pretty much just die.

Now, you were attacked by two, right? One of them's fast, made for hitting hard and hitting quickly, but no guns; it'll beat you about, so keep it away from you unless you have some way of stopping it from smacking you. The second one's the opposite; it'll toss out more shots than a gamer on a losing streak, but it'll miss most of 'em and it's hopeless at close range. Both of them are pretty durable, but as long as you hit it with something hard and up close, you should be fine.

So, you're being hunted by an Aramitama who can afford to send expendable drones at you, has the resources to make lots of them without having to repair them after fighting, and intends to make better ones."

Faith frowns, a bit too absorbed in the matter at hand to do more than shift a little uncomfortably when Yoake starts pressing up against her.. "Ohhh. That's not good news then. If we go and, like, charge in guns blazing how many of these Mononoke are we gonna find? Goodness, we're kinda diving in headfirst here, Lord help us."

"I don't see how we could know that. We'll just need to be prepared for a large number. Unless you have any way of determining that from the autopsy?" he addressed this last part to Tsukasa.
"What are the primary materials which would be needed to make a lot of these? Might be able to find the Sanctuary by tracing shipments into the the city."

Somewhere, the GM is being subjected to tentacling by the players
"That won't help too much. You'll need to track Mononoke sightings and Awakenings. That's where they're getting the souls from; they take the shards from those. That's where the batteries come from. You find a Mononoke being attacked, you follow the attacker back and chances are you'll find the Sanctuary."

"Any limit to how far away from the sanctuary these Mononoke will appear? Also, we've had a couple fights with the same Aramitama, and both times it has escaped in a cloud of smoke, some sort of Anomaly. Is there any way to trace the Aramitama? Any advice in general for combating it?"

"Well, as long as they're dormant, you could carry them anywhere. Tracking him might be a bit easier, however. I could rig up some sort of tracking device for you. Maybe literal tracer bullets."

"Hmm. If you could make them compatible with this," he pulled out his pistol, and handed it handle-first to Tsukasa, "that would be excellent. Though, would there be a way to set anyone else's weapon to leave behind a tracker on impact?"

Tsukasa takes the pistol away.
"Already at this stage? We haven't even had dinner yet and you're trusting me with this. I like it~

More seriously though, if you want everyone to have a tracer, it'll take a few days. You might as well take a rest and suit up before I call you back here."

"So we're supposed to follow it back, but it teleports without a trace every time it shows up. . . I guess, any advice on what this place would look like if we ran across it by accident?" It doesn't show in her voice, but Noriko looks slightly uncomfortable for some reason. . .

"Not likely you would. It's likely hidden away in a Sanctuary, far away from view. That's why I'm telling you I'll have some tracers ready for you as soon as possible."
