And thus the trap was sprung. This copy had just identified her as at least a very close friend, probably more, which it wouldn't have done if it'd known at all who she actually was. Meaning that the chance of it actually naming her correctly was, shall we say, very very low, and if it was lying about having a girlfriend, it was probably bullshitting about everything else, too.

"No it's okay, it sounds like you've got something on your chest. I can get you some more privacy if you want, besides... Kouta's probably waiting. You're not related, right?"
She winks. You're not sure how you feel about this. Actually you're not entirely sure how meeting up with Kouta even relates to having a private conversation that is until until the wings sprout from her back, mechanical and almost skeletal with thrusters that burn a cold white. She smiles politely at you, waiting to see if you accept her invitation to take to the skies.

Shef said nothing. He'd been about to shoot the doppelganger in the head-'it hadn't answered the questions after all--but now Sakurako was here doing. . .something. was it an intentional ploy, an accident caused by the cocaine, or something else entirely? For now he'd watch it play out.

He considered sending a text to Fiona asking her to stay quiet for a moment, but came to the conclusion that it wouldn't be necessary, and if the adversary had some way of intercepting that message, it might make things worse.

"Don't. . . say anything, Yuki." Shef said as quietly as he could while still being audible to her.

"Of course dear!"

Fiona for her part simply smiles
"It's great to meet you Akari! While we're introducing people, could someone introduce me to their other friends too? The ones in that tree?"
She points, points directly at Baghead and Co.

"Who?"
"We don't know them."

"Believe their supposed to be our adversaries. They've been tailing us for some time." Shef did not comment on the doppelganger's statements. No need to, really.

"So no one will mind if I shoot them then, right?"
She grins and reaches behind her back under her jacket.

That's an M320. Not an off-realm replica like those used by Jack-O', not a Regalia copy either, no it's an honest to god military issued M320 grenade launcher. Modified of course, a few features have been removed, including the frontal grip and leaf sights.

The weapon may have been mundane, but the munitions most certainly were not, instead of getting blade the tree instead gets struck by a bolt of lightning, the rather disreputable members having to hurl themselves out to spare themselves what was shaping up to be an awfully unpleasant tasing.

"Christ!"

Four of them. Baghead, facemask, scarves, and the cat. Guess you know who she was working for now. Still they're not scattering either, actually they seem to be heading right towards your position.

They were enemies certainly, and it seemed unlikely that they'd pass up the chance to attack now that their hand had been forced. But Red was still a wild card here, who knew what else had been set up. Hopefully, any traps would have been planted at their previous location, but there was no reason to bet on that.

As a warning shot, Shef loaded one of the remaining pillow rounds he had on him, and fired it towards the ground in front of the approaching foes.

Pillow hits the ground in front of Baghead and the guy just fucking kicks it away. They tap their bracelet and it lights up as does yours. A briefcase appears in his hands, four ethereal mirrors unfold from nonexistence behind scarf girl.
"<Enough.>" He intones, voice rumbling like distant thunder.
"<We will be engaging now. There will be no more interference from you. That girl will get what's coming to her.>"
He stops right in front of you, towering above.
"<Ten paces. That's more than reasonable.>"

"Well, time to go now, nice to meet you all-"
The doppelganger makes a run for it. Fiona catches her by the collar but "Yuki" simply vanishes into flames. "Faith" too. Well at least they weren't hot flames.

What was the point of designating paces here, Shef wondered, popping in the magazine of ammo he'd purchased at the munitions boutique earlier.

He did not check whether they had reached ten paces as he raised the gun, and fired a shot at each of the adversaries heads in turn.

Fire some of the special rounds at the heads of each of the four enemies.

"Hey, my name's actually Sakurako, I'm Faith's classmate who she isn't datimg. Should we give these people some space, I think this is a duel and I need to rest off a massive amount of cocaine for a normal person."

Noriko sighs, then nods. She takes a step or two towards Patricija, preparing to take off alongside her; at this point, the sudden appearance of mechanical wings didn't even register as something of note.

With a gust of wind and a flaring of lights the two of you begin your ascent, rising above the crowds and markets, rising above the buildings and rooftops before ducking out the way of an aerial dogfight between two squadrons of well-armed corgis. The skies above Kingshaven are not private, they are not quiet, commuters glide through the air, duelists trade blows with blade and bullet, some up close, some a horizon apart, but the skies are not your destination. No, the pair of you fly further, the city receding beneath you, the voices, the gunfire, all soon replaced by the sublime stillness of the endless ocean.

You are alone now, just the two of you lost between an empty sky and a still sea, the only noise the rushing of the wind and the faint hum of thrusters. You are lost, yet your destination nears or so Patricija says. In the Aethertide your destination is always just behind th horizon, you simply need to know what it is.

Soon you will see it, with its sandy beaches and snowglobe dome, its beachside bungalows and artificial waves, its tourists, its seabirds, Ren and Kouta too. But for now you are alone, the only souls above an endless sea stretched horizon to horizon. If you want to speak, to speak and not be heard, now would be the time.

"Oh, we're fighting now? Ok then! Oh, and you're convinced we're the real ones now right Fiona?" Yuki barely waited for response, before starting to charge towards the approaching enemies with her chainsaw out, going for whoever entered her range (but directed towards baghead, if none got in front of them first) with intent to get to work slashing them up.
