You summon your weapons and brace for what's to come...

コンバット•ス-

Right so this white truck just fucking crashes through the wall like the goddamn kool-aid man and just absolutely creams the guy before ramming them into the wall opposite, crumpling violently on impact.

So, fifteen plus tons of truck going at well over a hundred k's hitting a small child and crushing him against a wall. Do you have any idea what that does to the human body? Here's a hint - it's like artillery on cake, and that's before it catches fire and explodes.

Smoke and fire, bloodstains and debris, you could've sworn you saw some bone mixed in there. Fragments of bone anyways. Fuck an open casket, this guy'll be lucky if they can even scrape enough of him together to fill a tin can.

"Got it. I'll call you as soon as I have everything together." She takes the phone, slipping it into the pocket of the jacket after she goes to pay for it, then turning to head out into the night to head over to the store Shef had indicated to go and get some more magically-charged drugs. Also she makes a note to check into seeing if they might be able to be made into bullets. You know, make up for the whole... thing.

Well, you find a boutique munitions store. They sell a variety of magical munitions. Examples include: homing, exploding, ricocheting, being a laser, being a collection of small woodland creatures, being a collection of large woodland creature, being a collection of small woodland creatures voltron'ing together as a larger woodland creature that happens to also home in, ricochet, and explode into binding chains covered in laser spiders powered by the Third Amendment to the Real United States Constitution (this one's still the same though). You know because those munitions are currently screeching through the air as a few of the customers are actively engaging in a firefight in its aisles using the ammunition, with a few helpful displays on the store keeping track of each person's current tab.

Sakurako
Well, for starters, it turns out you weren't actually using combat stims, those work a bit differently. No, what you had were infusion units, which are typically applied to weapons, projectiles, familiars, and the like. Just in your case you were fucking mainlining that shit. Turning them into bullets, well you could infuse your blood with some and try spraying them down like a one-woman bukkake line of elemental devastation, but by that point you could probably just run up and punch them or pack a melee weapon extend your reach and act as a force multiplier. So what do you wanna do? Keep on using infusers? Take combat stims? Blow the money on blackjack and hookers instead?

Shef made his way through the store, ignoring the firefight, wandering only those aisles that seemed to have a lull in the combat, taking whatever wild shots flew his way. He didn't have time for this right now. Normally he might have erected portals around himself, wandering at ease through the store, or even tried his hand at the fight, teach these people a lesson. But due to the mission, he didn't feel comfortable revealing his powers in that manner, nor did he have the time for it.

In those aisles, restricted by the battle going on, Shef passed a number of unique, but rather niche armaments. Not what he needed. For now, the man searched for something that'd cause lasting troubles to an opponent even in combat merely to first blood. This aisle seemed good for that plenty of lasting effects, tear gas and pepper spray bullets, glue rounds, and more. One in particular he noticed, initially dismissing it as unnecessary. But, he needed a lasting effect, something to deplete an enemies resources, and after an internal struggle, Shef decided to purchase the rounds. He didn't have to actually use them if he began to regret this later, right?

She'd go to buy more infusers, aiming to get a good selection of different types. Air had worked well. Fire was always nice. Lightning, wood, and so on. If she doesn't use them now, maybe they'll be useful in the future. Can't hurt, at least.

Yuki and Noriko
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: 完全感覚Dreamer]

Noriko, you rush upwards, the very air quite literally filling with bullets around you. You speak your incantation and cast your spell, channel your magic and direct your winds. A blade of air lances forward, hammer and chisel as one. Pierce the barrier and that bitch will be aflame, fail and there'll be nothing to her from gunning you down before you land. it's quite the gamble, and you're damn sure you'll win it.

The blade tears through the screen forcing the explosions apart, but as soon as they part, new explosions roar out to fill the void. The barrier holds, but your blade has penetrated, time to improvise. You turn the blade towards her chest, and splay it open, the stab turning into a shove, a shove that forces her right into her own barrier. The reactive armor goes off, its explosion counteracting that screen and blasting her back forwards, it's spared her the first hit but now the knockback hurls her face first towards the other side of the blast screen. There's no choice but to drop it.

Screen goes down, she stagger out, you're waiting, flame in hand. You grab her, her body bursting into flames as your counterspell turns all that magic coursing through her into a roaring inferno. Turning you throw the burning girl forwards off-balance before hurling your spear through her spine.

She collapses as the flames begin to die, impaled upon your spear.

"<Oww! Did'ya have to be so rough Miss Instructor?>"

Not sure what she's saying, but you're pretty sure it's not what you're expecting. You expected more screaming, maybe some cursing, definitely not pouting though. Her presence has changed completely too, and to be honest you kinda preferred it when she had that almost dignified air about her rather than well... this. She kinda just stares expectantly at you as if waiting for you to remove the spear.

You note that her bracelet is now flashing red.

Yuki, you recall your vector and teleport behind Gwen chainsaw at the ready. Course since she was rushing forward towards the vector when you recalled it, it means she was at the front of their little formation, meaning there's two people behind her, two people who you suspect have a vested interest in making sure she remains tragically unchainsawed.

The audacious courier reacts in an instant, grabbing another blast spell from the mage, thrusting it towards you as spirit energy floods the crackling circle. It splits two. He was fast, real fast. If you swung your chainsaw it'd have been a coin toss. Maybe you'd have hit first, maybe he'd have, but you didn't use your chainsaw. No, gleaming in your offhand is Noriko's other spear. It had been chasing the trio and when you teleported above them that was also when Noriko cast her spell and the spear went limp, and if she wasn't using it... then why not borrow it for a bit? A spear's got more reach than a chainsaw after all... though now that their counter has been countered...

The courier skids and tumbles to a halt, their having body gouged a shallow trench in the ground. He kinda just moans as his bracelet turns red, the deep wound across his chest beginning to heal as a geometric barrier surrounds him. He flops over into a sitting position, guessing he's out then.

Still he did spare the magus, managed to take the hit for both of them, though the magus isn't your problem right now. Gwen is. You made two strikes, the first caught the courier in the chest, the second Gwen caught in her hands.

Well maybe not her hands, Gwen, might not be home right now.

Her eyes are dead, empty, lifeless. Her grip on your Regalia tightens as the air stills with killing intent. You're, not fighting Gwen right now, it's someone else, something else in control now.

[Now Playing: Voices]

A palpable wave of energy explodes from the girl hurling you and mage backwards as she begins to transform.

Black lines trace across her face and when they meet, her head splits open along them. Inside, all you see is darkness, darkness and two slits of light glaring back. Her body seems to turn itself inside out as the darkness roars out and subsumes her. Before you is no longer a girl but a beast, a monstrous black jackal with four angular tails.

It lunges for your throat, be it with sharp teeth or deathly claws it cares not. And it lunges it seems to grow, larger and larger, as the world around it shifts, the ground beneath its feet, the air around its body chaotically transmuting. It wreathed in azothine solvent and degenerate matter, liquid adamant and quark-gluon plasma, countless substances some magical, some mundane, transmuting into one another, a shifting pestilent phantasmagoric aura of destruction.

"<Oh fuck.>"

Shef
You run into her at the check out. Half mage half cowboy with a pink hair and a perfect hourglass figure. Stella. Magus, nekomata, and Yoake's new girlfriend. Guess she's here too. On one hand she could be a useful asset, a familiar face, and a possible resource to boost - her match with Yoake was a close one, from what you gather from Satoshi she was no slouch, would've had it too had she not stopped to gobble up that eye candy, assailing her with a variety of exotic munitions and some fairly impressive gunslinging. On the other hand, she is Yoake's girlfriend, which doesn't really bode well for really just the concept of sanity in general. She's walking away now, in a few minutes she'll have vanished, your opportunity gone forever. What will you do?

Sakurako
Infusers get! Oh hey, Faith's at that cafe over there! You gonna go over and say hi?

((Powder will become active again soon.))

Following her out of the store, Shef tapped her on the shoulder, and said cautiously, "Excuse me? Are you Stella?" Why she was here, he had no idea, but given her connection to Yoake, and a stated preference for exotic rounds, it'd be useful to at least make contact with her.

Shef
She turns around and there's a blinding flash of golden light from her eyes. Next thing you know you're pinned against a wall with her bust pressed against your face, readied to smother you.
"Oh hey! You're Shef aren't you?"

...You know, you should've seen this coming.

Shef, with a mild sense of deja vu, attempted to answer, but only succeeded in making an indiscernable muffled noise. It was no use struggling there, so Shef opened a portal behind him, letting himself fall backwards through it before snapping it closed. Hopefully it'd cut him off from Stella, but if not, at least he'd not have the wall behind him constraining his movements.

If he managed to pull away, he'd answer. "Answer me and I'll answer you." It was Stella certainly, and she obviously knew it was him, but it was a matter of principle.

"Who else?"
She grins wide, a bit too wide for your liking
"But wow! To think I'd meet you here, and disguised as a cute girl no less! You're all business all the time right? Yoake told me alllll about you! Who are we shooting? Is it Hitler again?"

"No, no, nothing quite like that." Shef answered amusedly. "Got a little interference and protection training mission going on, and I was purchasing some tools."

"And what brings you here?"

"Ah." Was she a participant? A spectator? It didn't matter really, Shef decided. "Do you have some time to spare? Got something I'm working on and I'd appreciate some input. I've been informed of some of your more exotic munitions and well. . .you seem like the person to ask."

If the answer was in the affirmative, Shef would continue to explain what he'd worked on so far with Ren regarding a primitive knockback round, and his first attempted use of it against Sakurako, the latter part in minimal detail of course.
