Shef had not expected switching the person the tracker was on to work, but this was irritating. Two more trackers, and Shef was certain that the skater would have noticed that he was wearing an illusion.

He did not relocate after dropping the trackers this time. Letting himself get pushed around too much was a path to failure as much as having his location constantly broadcast would be. Do another search of the crowd, and keep an eye out for skater and the adversary, the usual.

Noriko splayed her hand outward towards the blast as it expanded outward. Every time she'd felt an instinct like that rise up, it'd been worthwhile to act on it; there was no reason this should be any different. The word exploded out of her mouth with a shout, and with the shout came a flame, a flame that caught onto the explosion as if it were so much tinder. She didn't waste time being surprised, either, sending another spear careening through the blast with her Requiem as she herself dodged backward and upward.

Agneyastra with whatever number it uses because i forgot lmao

Faith put her hands on her thighs, though they slipped a couple of times because of her sweat, and tried to catch her breath. Damn, she was exhausted-- even after the weeks she'd spent involved in fighting in life or death combat, the girl still was really not very fit at all. "Ah..." She huffed and puffed for a few moments, getting her breath back. "Augh... gah... I mean... I guess... but I was trying... do you... have any... advice? For how?"

Shef
Red's heading back over the train platform now not a care in the damn world. Skates, you can't find her, she vanished into the crowd.

Three trackers, a patdown, and all from a little trip. Troublesome. Unknown affiliations too. Two real choices here.

Adversary, singular, there should only be one right? Well you'd think that if you were a more trusting man, but that's not strictly the case. Hanako has shadow clones, Victoria a false body, Vendelin a guardian spirit. There are ways to have more bodies and more hostiles than a single adversary.

On the other hand, how could they have found you? They couldn't have traced your call somehow could they? Maybe they sensed you otherwise? They weren't too hard to find and not too Har to tail now that you think about it? Was that bait? Or maybe you have yourself away, stared at baghead's posse when everyone else was watching the other way?

Though of course baghead himself could've spotted you, he seemed better at tailing at a glance anyway, appearing far enough away and vanishing before reappearing blended into the crowd, could've eyed you while pretending to watch the fight. If skates is allied with him and not some goon, then that'd be another four man squad up against your protectorates, another four man squad that isn't engaging. Cautious, or something else? Something about that seems too neat, too arranged, too artifical, like they'd be playing a game themselves if that were the case.

No other threats appear, at least, not for now.

Faith
Luna hits the remaining ball up in a much gentler arc.
"Miss Tatsumaki, do you remember how you calibrated your beam output? Repeat that. Start from zero and work your way up until you have just enough to keep the ball aloft.Keep it within your side of the court."

"Uh, well, okay. Definitely easier than all of that stuff I was trying earlier..." Faith proceeded to try to do exactly that, this time not even using beams from her hypers so much as just trying to use some of her shapeless magic blasts to lightly keep the ball in the air.

Sol and Luna each ready a ball, tossing theirs in once you have a proper grasp on the first one. They continue doing this until you're overloaded.

Faith's mouth twisted as she was made to balance more and more and more balls by the twins; overwhelming her was probably a pretty sensible and necessary way of doing this training, probably, but it was still annoying-- and, yep, she was getting harried-- and wow that was actually a lot-- Letting out a noise of frustration, Faith tried to shape that frustration with determination to get the double-emotion effect from earlier.

Faith
So there's half a dozen balls or so bouncing up into the air, rapid pulses keeping them aloft. You've managed to push your back to the "net" keeping the balls aloft by just blasting them against the walls and keeping them in that general area, but it's not exactly a picnic keeping that up. You pour your frustration into the bolts letting it mix with your resolve as they begin to crackle with dichromatic energy. It, offsets things a bit, you're not pumping out more power than you started with, but you're no longer losing any to frustration either.

Two more balls come sailing over, high lobs, they're moving slower, much slower than they should even with a gentle launch. Still you're at your limit already and two more... those'll be the straw to Bane the fuck outta the camel's back.

You got some time to think at least. Put it to use. You got a good head on those shoulders don't you? Well you'd like to think so anyway. Prove it then.

Time seems to almost slow as you glance through the court, feeling out your options. Really, you got two things at your disposal right now: your skill with beam spells and your sense and control of the bolts still in the air and... wait, the balls too? Why can you...

There! A spark. A crackling arc of energy, yellow and purple, light and dark, chasing each other's tails. It's coming from the balls. They're charged, charged with your energy? Was it the frustration? The touch of darkness? Your negative spells do have a tendency to curse things, could you have contaminated the balls with it somehow?

Three resources you got three resources at your disposal. What do you do with them?

[]Fire off an array of super weak lasers. Send a pulse through whenever a ball touches one.
[]Try and remotely steer the balls into your shots.
[]Modify the curse, maybe it can keep them afloat?
[]Something else.

Faith grit her teeth as she had to deal with eight different objects -- she was at least given the reassurance that she was getting the whole double energy thing down pretty reliably by now, but right now it didn't seem to be helping her very much. She hadn't been able to totally toss the balls away earlier with the horizontal beam trick she'd tried, and she didn't know that the permeable nature of her double energy thinger would allow any sort of really heavy, wide impact like...

...wait a minute. Holy shit. It was just like that time with that asshole dictator Aramitama fusion thing that stripped her naked WAIT no she wasn't going to think about that too closely-- but anyway, much like when she'd marked him she seemed to have marked the balls somehow -- and now that she had, she realized that she could probably control them fairly easily, considering that they were made of energy, and she'd been working on moving that around a lot recently. And since she could...

Faith tried to steer the balls into her shots slash each other!

Faith
Time seems to come rushing back as you focus, balls ricocheting off of each other once more, but this time, it ain't random, this time, they're bouncing against each other, keeping themselves aloft or hurling themselves against your bolts. Yes! Progress!

One by one, the balls fizzle to naught. More take their place. Far more. But these ones are much smaller, mic lighter. They're slow to fall, and you think just tagging them will let you keep them levitating, but there's so many you doubt you could, at least, not with your bolts.

Well, now that she had this tool at her disposal, Faith was much more confident in her ability to finish this damn training exercise. The very first thing she did was make a Freedom Beam as wide as she can and swept it across most of the available space. She didn't need to do anything on hit, or hit solidly, and though she figured the beam probably would do some pushing of its own, mostly she just wanted to get control over as many of the balls she could - for the rest, she would try to transfer the mark from ball to ball, or otherwise use the controlled balls to keep the non-controlled ones up.

Faith
You sweep your dichromatic beam, sending the balls flying up whet they fizzle and vanish.

"Behind you."
You turn and find that the net has raised, if only slightly, creating a small gap below. The twins stand outside the court four large balls flying down fast in their side of the court, each ball coming down on each corner. They're coming up from pretty damn high, but they've got an awful lotta momentum, gonna be hard to stopping them if you only tag them at the last moment.

Faith groaned -- she was really getting exhausted, frankly, and this training was taking forever. God, she hoped it ended soon, she didn't know how much more of this she wanted to take. Well, she supposed that she could try to be a bit tricky now that she could take control of these things. She wasn't willing to go into a full fucking emotional breakdown for the sake of training, so she wasn't gonna try full negative emotion -- and though she'd managed to do the double-emotion thing with her basic magic, she wasn't confident she'd manage it with her full positive-emotion spells.

Well, nothing to do but try. Faith attempted to bend a Freedom Beam under the net, bending it back up and widening it to catch all of the balls as they were in the process of descending. Not only that, but Faith would try to apply just enough of the double-emotion effect to the ability to catch the balls with the energy-control effect, and steer them into the net.

Alright.

That was a terrible idea.

Charging headlong at a bunch of people in a schoolyard brawl or even outside, works; untrained people- delinquents harassing the weak outside, the clique of mean girls pestering the shy bookworm- preferred to target the weak, the vulnerable and those who weren't going to fight back. They didn't like targets who could fight back; Minato learned this lesson early, when they tried to smack him around as a young kid and he fought right back, showing them he wasn't a pushover, some weakling to be stepped on by the strong. An untrained fighter preferred an opponent who really couldn't fight back at all.

But a trained enemy knew how to take advantage of anyone's vulnerabilities, and these robots were plenty trained.

Minato groans, pulling himself off the ground. The shooting pain through his body told him he wasn't in any condition to use his usual tactics; no charging in like a madman. A Dai-Henshin in his current condition was going to risk genuine bodily injury. Luin Celtchair wasn't going to cut it either; it would take him too close, too quick, and Minato needed to stay away from them. Rho Aias could work, but how? He needed some way of keeping these things off him, some way of fighting back without getting too close. Gleipnir could hold the crowd back but he didn't have enough chain to hold the entire group back or lash them back. His finishing technique could do it, but he'd need them grouped up for the impact to get ALL of them.

The next few seconds passed like an eternity for Minato.

>How, dammit? I gotta think.<

Noriko. How did Noriko do it? She was dancing around the battlefield with her spears and her wind; Minato was an immovable object, but she, she was like the wind. She had a way of fighting that was alien to Minato. How did she do it? He racked his brains. Maybe she could give him some pointers. What would she do if she were here? How would she handle this?

Manavastra.

That word rang in his ears. Where did he hear it before? It wasn't one of his Regalia, no. Nothing he'd used-

Noriko. It was one of Noriko's techniques. One of her powers. He figured her abilities had to do with Hindu astras, but he'd never tried to summon them before, not like that. He didn't need a nuclear bomb, he needed a scalpel. Most astras were too powerful, too broad in range for Minato to use. Most of the big ones, anyway. Maybe he could take pointers from her. But using one of her abilities wouldn't work; again it wasn't suited to his powers.

Something reached out to his mind, like warm, grasping tendrils, reaching out to Minato's mind. It was something he was familiar with; the feeling he got whenever he searched for familiar weapons to use in combat, the feeling he got when he reached into the Gaia Memory. It had begun when he had first Awakened, when he drew Durandal that night when the Aramitama had broken into his house to try to kill him and he summoned a sword out of thin air to fight it off.  The Gaia Memory knew Minato now, and Minato knew it like a familiar book, and it knew what Minato was looking for.

The golden outline of an ornate bow formed in Minato's outstretched hand, a string already drawn in his other hand. He knew its name like he'd said it many times before. He could feel his armor changing to accomodate the new weapon; it did this every time he had a new Regalia, changing in subtle ways and subtle forms to enhance Minato's use of weapons. He already knew; he'd be using THIS one a lot.

Regalia Unlocked: Gandiva.

Perfected False Regalia: Celestial Arc of the Inferno [3]: Gandiva, the bow of Agni, the Hindu god of fire. Minato may summon Gandiva to fire flaming projectiles from the bow that explode on contact, or load the bow with summoned False Regalia (either other hypers or Requiem-summoned fakes) and fire them to impale them into objects and explode on contact, as well as projecting their effects at range (Rho Aias projects a shield at range, Luin Celtchair becomes a enemy-seeking projectile, etc.). He may also sacrifice stockpiled Regalia to increase the amount of arrows fired from Gandiva. As with other false Regalia, he can destroy it to protect himself from attack or to damage an enemy heavily.

And after that, everything fell right into place. He could turn Gungnir into a finishing move of his own, imbuing his foot with it to ensure his attack would be powerful enough and accurate enough to take down the target. Why not everything else?

New Stat Block.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
New Skill Unlocked: False Regalia Fortification.

False Regalia Fortification [5]: Minato can sacrifice a Regalia to imbue it into something or a small area. That object is now imbued with the power of that Regalia, and be used to lay traps in an area for Minato to catch an opponent out with it. If Minato imbues another Regalia with Fortification, the effects are now combined, i.e. Luin Celtchair and Gleipnir combined now leaves a trail of chains to entrap anyone struck by Luin Celtchair.

Action: Minato summons Gandiva and loads Luin Celtchair and Gleipnir into it. Move away from 02's landing spot and fire the imbued arrow into 02 to throw it away from Minato, lining up the trajectory to nail 05 with the combined Gleipnir/Celtchair arrow as well. Load two more stockpiled weapons into Gandiva and sink exploding arrows into 09 and 10 to knock them away from Minato, all the while moving back to keep space between Minato and the Pugilists. Use the remaining weapons to ward off incoming attacks, sacrificing them if necessary.

Faith
Beam goes out and curves up, widening to catch the balls. One problem - those balls? They're at each corner of the twin's side of the court. So even with that high dispersion sweep you have one hell of a time catching all of them. Your credit, you do manage to catch three, using the beam to quickly sweep across, but the fourth detonates before you reach it.

"My my, back to the comfort zone I see. The moment you're unsure you slip back to that beam. Tsk tsk, we have much work to do."
Perhaps she she does it subconsciously, driven by her homicidal intent towards us. Can you not see the killing intent in her eyes? Our dismantled dismembered bodies in her gaze?"
"I shiver with dread."
Neither of them are shivering.
"Yes, yes, let us appease her through our counsel so she shall spare our lives."
Are they just going to keep going on like this or...?
"Miss Tatsumaki, remember the tactics you used prior."
"You must leave your comfort zone and have confidence in your magic."

Four more balls fall from above, a repeat of the exercise.
