Shef
The salon is a modest establishment neatly wedged between a clothing store and a familiar shop. Monolithic mirrors are arrayed inside, each displaying something like the person standing in front of it but never quite the same. A pair of sales clerks meander across the store helping their clientele while in the back several illusionists weave their spells over their customers.

Noriko and Yuki
"<It's a date then! Oh and just in case you don't know the Festival of Arms goes for the next three days so it might be a bit hectic out there...>" As if on cue you hear an explosion right outside your window, followed by the chatter of gunfire.

Faith

Shef made his way over to one of the sales clerks, waiting until they seemed free, before inquiring about the procedure involved, prices, what sort of options for illusions one could get, and anything else that might be necesary for his purchasing of an illusion.

Not even close was right. Minato didn't quite have time for this.

They had spears, but he'd made an opening already. Tanking them wasn't an option, but then he didn't need to.

Press the attack on 01, taking advantage of the fact he's left an opening in the circle. Propel Minato out of the way of the chi spears with one of the summoned weapons exploding, while countering the leg sweep with the dao by smashing the dao through the leg and continue beating on 01 to keep them down while pressing out of the circle to disperse the group and force them to fan out.

Yuki translated what the girl said for Noriko before continuing. She seemed to not mind the wording. "Oh, Festival of Arms? Sounds fun~" Yuki said. She grabbed her clothes and kinda just put them over her shoulder. She didn't really care about what she was wearing, but she wasn't saying no to free clothes.

Shef
Prodedure's simple enough, you just use the mirror UIs to customize what you want to look like on your reflection. Full body modifications are grouped by cost class, with the price being that of the highest cost class, no matter what the modification is. Accessories and whatnot are cheap but billed for each. You then select other options like durability and duration before printing out a ticket. An illusionist will then have you sit down while they weave the illusion around you. No special requirements for purchasing save for identification to make sure they're not assisting a wanted fugitive or something.

[Now Playing: Sacrifice]

Nine spears of solidified chi erupt into existence. These weren't simple energy strikes, they were proper weapons, half-solid half-energy. Not that it matters much, you spin two free floating blades, catching and directing their thrusts upwards. Shifting your stance, you grab the back of your blade with your free hand, it's not quite half-swording, half-swording is for stabs and not something to be done with a dao, no, you'll be using it like a guillotine. You detonate a forgery and rush forwards driving your blade downwards and through Unit 01's damn leg.

You skid forwards on the ground, grinding your foe against the floor before lifting them up, letting your momentum slam them against one of the pillars.

The construct falls still.

The remaining nine, still recovering from your blast fan out. Unit 02 hurls its spear at you, with 03 and 04 rushing in for followup thrusts. The remaining constructs stalk around you, weapons readied and poised to strike should you shall any opening at all.

Shef headed over to one of the mirrors to try to figure out what he'd need. He had the money to spend, but keeping the cost down would be a good thing. No point in going for the extra durability, if even that would wear off immediately in combat.

What should he look like, the man wondered. He'd need something which he'd be able to walk right past Noriko and Yuki in, without being suspected. He. . . could probably disguise himself as a woman couldn't he? That seemed the easiest way to avoid any suspicion, of well, being Shef. But no, if he did that, he'd probably have to act like a woman, and he wasn't entirely sure if there were mannerism he needed to change for that. There were other aspects too, that seemed like they'd need a bit more thought to pull off, so that was out.

At least, that was what he'd been thinking, until he noticed the existence of options for body language and posture and the like. After a brief internal struggle, he decided, what the hell, it was worth a shot. He began selecting features, and when he was finished, printed out a ticket. Duration, if it wasn't too expensive, probably till evening today. Durability, depended on whether adding the durability factor would give it any chance of standing up to battle.

All day won't be an issue, durability yeah, it's not going to survive combat, well, not neccesarily. It can be rigged to reboot, letting it kick back in sometime after breaking. Won't survive counterspells and the like, but it will restart if you just get shot.

Shef, learning this, chose to add the durability, with a reboot about ten minutes after breaking.

Shef
Right so you make your order, take your ticket and wait. After a while an illusionist gets freed up so you get to chill in a chair while they apply it, honestly it feels sorta like being a hairdresser.

With a flash of light the illusion kicks in, flickering your new "body" into existence. You don't feel any different but when you look down, it's someone else's body you see. Experimentally you tug at your sleeve. You felt that, looks like your new clothing has been overplayed directly on what you're wearing. The exoarm is a bit weirder, its armor makes it a bit larger than what the illusion depicts meaning you have to go by muscle memory and kinaesthetic awareness rather than sight. Though you note that when you touch something, the hands do desync slightly to appear to actually touch when they can rather than looking like you have range-challenged telekinesis. The parts that don't exist, like your lengthened hair do seem to interact with the world but only one-way, you can brush it with your hands but you don't feel it as it moves.

The illusionist shifts a mirror, a regular one this time in front of you, and in in you can drr all the minor desyncs in expression, they do match what your are expressing, but the how is different. Everything larger like posture, fidgeting, etc. that's all done using indicators flashing into your gaze to guide you.

Shef twisted around taking in the view from profile perspectives as best he could, the HUD indicating how exactly he should best twist for the illusion to act well. He'd chosen something the same height as himself, but the proportions were different for obvious reasons, and he needed to adjust so that his motions and the illusion could move together.

It was uncanny. He knew mentally that there was a mirror there, and a figure followed his motions for the most part. But trying to identify that figure as himself? The cognitive dissonance whispered anxiously as Shef checked the mirror. Once he'd checked his back--he was slimmer, with hair trailing to halfway down his back--and face, he glanced down from the mirror, exhaling. Better to just look down at himself and--not there--get a feel for in which places he existed and didn't now.

Experimentally, he pressed the tips of his fingers together, noting the illusion extend a little bit extra to compensate. "It's great. But. . ."Shef reached over to touch his forearm. The illusion, of course, moved slightly further before stopping, a perfectly fluid and believable picture of him tapping his own arm. But what about someone else? What would happen if they touched him, if they bumped into him in the street? "Er, could you touch my arm? Want to see what happens there with the illusion."

Shef
The illusionist nods and touches your arm, their hand stopping just before the illusion itself.

"<If it's a problem maybe we can modify the outfit so something occupies the space. I can throw in some force padding so even the illusions can be touched but it'll cost you, especially if you want tactile sensations.>"

"No, I think this is good. I just need to make sure I don't bump into people while they're watching, right?" Shef pulled up his hands again, lacing his fingers together and pulling them apart, rubbing his hands together, and otherwise just trying to get used to the appearance of these smaller, paler hands that he now had. It wouldn't do to drop a glass just because he'd misjudged where these hands were.

"Thank you." He said carefully to the illusionist, following all the promptings of the HUD, before paying for the whole procedure.

Once he'd finished, he headed out onto the street, checking the saved locations on his phone to head over to the place where Noriko'd crashed through a window last night. As he walked, he'd check the lastest news on the gossip sites that had provided this information.

"It's not. . ." Noriko sighed. Why did this keep happening to her? She just wanted, for once in her life, to not be considered some weirdo or pervert. "But, yes, that would be helpful. All of my plans were back at the resort, but I need to figure out what happened to my phone, at least, and whatever the hell else happened last night."

Noriko and Yuki
"<Whatever you say! Let's get going then, the nearest quest hub isn't too far from here.>"
So you three head down to the reception, the girl going off to pay for the night. The reception is cozy with something between a rustically luxurious and a warm homely feel to it, though you feel anything but at home, there's a strange feeling in the air, you spy darting gazes in your direction and some not so subtle stares, a few murmurs going through the room, and as you wonder why they're looking at you with such interest you hear the receptionist speak, their voice soft and clear, ringing high above everything else.
"<Was the room to your satisfaction, Your Highness?>"
"<It was! Keep up the good work!>"

"Uh, as long as this detonation doesn't blow me up if it touches me..." Well, Faith had to admit, the training hadn't horrifically maimed anyone yet, even when it'd seemed like it would. "Well, I guess that sounds fine."
