Yoake's face took on a pondering expression.

"Hmm... Now that we're friends, I can train you better! What kind of training do you want, Mary?"

"Oh uh training... well... I'd like to be able to use my powers, but I don't wanna get shot like Evi! And I want it to stop handing me guns!"

<"Uh... well, eheh, all of my defensive options besides magic, Minato, and whatever I can get are getting out of the way, sooo I won't want to burden myself. Two of each, maybe?">

Yoake thought for a moment.

"Okay, so, no need to worry about being shot, because you should know by now that's not my style. Second, I think the way you use your powers is to... just will things into happening? Jus' try and give yourself a sword or something. Think real hard about it."

"None taken. Well, Tsukasa's probably the best one to ask. I think I'm actually going to go up to check with her anyway, seeing as I'm going to need to pack quite a bit more power than this suit'll give me. I might also be able to pull a few contacts who know my family, although on such short notice, I doubt they'll be able to help so much."

Faith pouts a little at the mention of asking Tsukasa. "As long as you can keep her from making another crack about... you know." Evidently she was mostly over it, though, because she smiled at Minato and poked him in the chest. "Don't worry about bringing up all your contacts, ehehe. Thanks to you and Yuki, as long as I have something, I'll probably be fine."

"Hey, now, Tsukasa means well. She's just.....got no social life outside me, you guys and one or two of the older researchers, who are, by the way, weirder than she is. Aaaaand also probably has gotten way too close to random weird things than anyone here really should."

Faith's expression flashed deadpan for a moment. "Yeah, um... not saying this to be mean, but I started to figure that out." The whole thing with poor Noriko was some prrretty basic proof of that. "Also, knowing our luck, we're going to be getting weird things up in our faces, like... every day now."

"Fair point. What exactly are you looking for, anyway?"

"Uhhh... like... I guess the mental image I had was of something that could kind of catch attacks that the Aramitama would be throwing at me? Ranged stuff, since, uh... well... I doubt I'd be able to do much if it closed in, whatever the Aramitama is like." She shuddered. "...but yeah, something I can activate to kinda... grab and get rid of a fireball or missile, or something, you know? I bet it'd be just super useful."

Mary sorta just closes her eyes and concentrates really hard, clutching at the straightsword in her hand.

"Hmph. Not as bad I thought it'd go. Don't take that as a compliment." Oh great, Slaine's here. This time she's clad in full tactical gear, doesn't look any less irritating though. "Called in anything for the assault?"

Minato nods, heading over to find Tsukasa.......who now seems to be fiddling with some gadget or other nearby.
"Oh. I thought you were still outside."
"Just finished. You guys need something? I can't be too much a help, given I only brought so much stuff, but I packed a few goodies, especially for you, Minato."
"Me?"
"You really think I'd let you lag behind these jokers with their kit? O-Shiri Industries might be big and heavily funded and have a whole department for this stuff, but they're not me, boy. And Foundry's at least half full of Kurosaki-brand originals."

”Uh... yeah. I’m trying to see if I can’t get my hands on some sort of... active defense I guess, so I can minimize THAT fiasco,” it was embarrassing now but st the time it had just really really hurt, ”as much as I can. Something to, like, catch or absorb ranged attacks that I can activate myself, since I can just pop up a bunch of shields if I REALLY need something more passive.”

"Lemme think. I might have a few personal graviton field devices, yeah. They work by stopping projectiles and lasers dead, you see. Projectiles'll just drop, lasers'll just stop. They won't last forever, and they have a limit to how much they can stop before they'll shut down, but they'll do the trick if you really need something that stops attacks and not just break like so much rice paper. If you'd called a little earlier, I could've gotten something better for you from my workshop, but, well, beggars can't be choosers.

They're not actually gravity-based, though. I just named them that because it sounds cooler."

”That sounds pretty good to me! I don’t really need something super permanent anyway, especially since this is a last minute kind of thing anyway — I’m just glad you did in fact have these things.”
