Suddenly Faith was in some odd hybrid of a boat and a car, and suddenly instead of the mansion or the area beyond, she was around a floating arena and, just, a bunch of water. Okay, that was Yoake’s requiem, sure, why not?

The boatcar drove up to a carriage of the train, and behind them Faith watched as a really really big cannon unfolded from a carriage. ”Oh, uh, wow, that’s big. That’s... bad news. Um, hey, Yuki, Satoshi, ifyou can I need you to be the ones defending the car, ‘cuz I need to shoot this thing. I have like... six shields up, so I’ll be fine.”

With those words (much calmer now that Faith was almost fully clothed and was in a car), glowing moderately brightly from the five Shields of Courage currently surrounding her position, Faith leaned over the side a little bit to extend a palm in the direction of the large cannon, she shouted ”Freedom Beam!” and then she fired a bright yellow beam of magic at the train.

Faith fires a Freedom Beam at the Carriage #1 railway cannon, Alteration to 5!

Minato quickly looks around at the Storm Minds. He sighs, cracking his knuckles, examining his options. Rho Aias would defend him, but not for very long, not against four opponents. Durandal? Tough and very sharp, but he could only still hit one of them at once. Aegis? Excalibur? One opponent at once, again. He needed something to deal with all of them, right now, immediately, so he could stop the train.

And he knew just the Regalia.
"Right. If you won't get out the way, I'll just move you out the way."

The Luin Celtchair, a spear so angry, so fearsome that it blazed with intense heat that required it to be bathed in blood to keep it sated, that it would kill many men in battle simply out of sheer rage. Minato had studied it for a while during his Godslayer training, back when he'd been considering Regalia to project, but he'd decided to go with something less difficult to wield. In any case, a Rho Aias and Durandal combo had served the man who called himself a Knight well. In any case, he'd only really need it to deal with a whole army of enemies in close range; throwing it was a bad idea, given he was never quite a good shot with things at all.

In this particular situation, however, this was going to need desperate measures. It didn't need a knight, it needed a berserker. And they were all walking right at him, so no need to aim too well. Perfect.

"Noriko! Stay well back! This is going to get messy! Everyone else, duck! Here goes nothing!"

He could already feel the heat in his gauntlet as he began projecting the spear. Better get rid of it as quickly as possible.

Use a Resolve point, alter to 6, activate True Regalia Replication and summon the Luin Celtchair to attack all of the Storm Minds and cannons in range of Minato. Spin the stockpile around Minato to protect himself, exploding the weapons to deflect any strong blows and using the weapons themselves to deflect anything weaker.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: Panther]

In Minato's hand it appears, a spear, a simple spear of wood and bronze, quite literally blazing with otherworldly rage. Luin Celtchair is not used like a spear. It is not used like a weapon. It wields itself, the user's just the power supply. The targets, it'll handle them, provided Minato survives. He grips it tightly. He'll survive. He's sure of it. Luin launches forwards, Minato with it. A sidestep. Quick. Last moment, just enough to evade steer him out the path of the blades, the gunfire he'll have to handle himself. Regalia spin, bullets ricocheting off their forms. Many are stopped. Many get through. No matter. The weapons cross. Storm Mind B raises its gatling. Intent is to raise Minato's arm up. Avoid the blow. Jam its weapon, its spinning assemblage of blades, and its barrel right into his face, and pull the trigger. Action fails. Assumptions were wrong. A normal spear's source of force is its wielder. It pivots with their limbs. It may be pivoted. Luin is not a normal spear. Its force comes from itself. Sorcery trapped in a casket. Murderous intent with a form. When the Storm Mind pushes, it pushes back, and it wins. Thrusters flare. Storm Mind B dashing to the side. Reaction was predictable. Noriko is observant. Her weapons are never evaded, only delayed. And both Minato and Luin are her weapons right now. Winds reorientate the weapon, and then, they drive it forwards, faster. Storm Mind B drops its weapon and swings its fist towards Minato's head. Minato lets one hand go of Luin. Luin drags Minato off-balance, his body is now oriented diagonally. He is beginning to lean forwards. The fist now needs to adjust. With his free-hand, Minato brings his palm against the inside of the construct's arm, pushing it away, off-course. He leans further fowards, and lunges. Luin pierces Storm Mind B. The armor splits beneath the spear-tip, the weapon drives itself into the construct. Impalement does not occur. It fails to pierce through the armor a second time. Luin and Noriko drive the spear right back down, slamming the Storm Mind against the roof of the train. Luin accelerates forwards, angled downwards, continuing to pin Storm Mind B. Sparks fly. The plating on the roof is being torn apart. Collateral damage. Irrelevant. Luin cares only for its prey. Storm Mind B is being torn apart. Internally. Externally. It scrapes towards Storm Mind D. Storm Mind B expires two meters in front of Storm Mind D. Luin wrenches itself upwards, cleaving through the crumbling construct. Divine winds guide it, restraining it for a moment, keeping it from striking its target's torso. Its momentum sweeps it upwards, and as it points towards the head it drives forwards, from itself, and from the winds. It enters through the keyhole-shaped gap in the visor, embedding and soon tearing itself free of its victims's head, killing them near instantly. It follows through, the arc becoming a semi-cicle as rapidly decelerates, turning back to its other soon-to-be victims. Minato relaxes, letting his arms naturally follow its motions as he shifts his stance, tempering his weapon's bloodlust into something resembling a warding stance if only for a moment.

One second has passed.

Faith gazes backwards from the car, at the smoldering wreckage, the blasted and burnt heap of metal that was once a train carriage quickly sinking into the waters below. There no hole, no cartoonish tunnel right through the carriage. No, her beam had blasted, crumpled, and vaporized its way through her target. The force of the material being forced back, forced outwards, the havoc it wreaked was beyond explosive. Carriage #1 hadn't just been destroyed, it had been completely obliterated. And had something been behind it, that too would have shared in its fate. The missiles are beginning to draw close now, but something's strange, something's off about them - they're not taking the direct path. Picture the missiles arcing down from the across the train carriage. Picture the trajectories they would take to strike the car. Color in the trajectories, highlight the areas they cover, until you have a region, a region in space that marks through where the missiles are heading.

That region describes what you expect. That region is not what you are getting. Some of the missiles are coming from different directions, taking longer, less direct paths. And what Faith realizes is, those wayward missiles, they all come from the same parts of that region.

Picture that region again. Picture it as a swarm of missiles. Picture where Faith is, where Yuki is. Especially where Yuki is. Imagine cones projecting outwards from both of them, where the cones overlap the swarm, the missiles in the cone are moved, shifted off the side. They take less direct paths, they fall behind slightly. Align the cones with where the holes are. The cones are shadows. Regions of darkness cast by two light sources - Karen, and Satoshi. Karen too is important. Karen and Yuki are both important, because Karen and Yuki, are moving.

Imagine how that changes the shadows, imagine how that causes the swarm to shift and churn. That is precisely what is happening here.

It takes some time, a fair bit of time really, a few near missiles, half a magazine from Satoshi, a lot swinging from Karen, but Faith finally sees it, behind the chaos, behind Satoshi's evasive maneuvers, behind the sense of panic as the missiles draw ever-closer and she saw the small army of servants-turned-crusaders off in the distance. She sees the reason behind it all - the missiles don't want her, they don't want Yuki. They're targeting Karen and Satoshi, her and Yuki? They weren't targets, they weren't even collateral damage, they were obstacles, and the missiles are trying to avoid them.

"I can't shake them! They're too persistent! Ammo's running low, I've got one last nitro charge, but it will only buy us a bit of time. I say we board the train, at least then we've got room to shoot and dodge on foot."

It took some time, but Noriko finally lands on cannon A. Flak was problematic, missiles, they were just nuisances. Too maneuverable to shake, too fast to outrun, good thing she had wind magic on her side. Concussive blasts to throw them off course before impact, and watch them go try curving back around. Well most of them at least, for some reason a couple of them just locked onto Yoake instead. Hope she doesn't mind.

Another lurch. Cannon's trying real hard to shake her. Missiles trying hard to dislodge. Good luck, she's got one spear jammed into it to keep grip, and plenty more wind blasts to throw around. The other cannons don't seem to keen to shoot her anymore. Guess they don't have the precision to hit her without hitting Cannon A. Too bad, she's got plenty. Her other spear's currently streaking towards Cannon B, it's been dashing out the way so far, but it needs time between dashes, her spears have no such recovery. As it spear thrusts towards its barrel, the cannon fires, an explosion of plasma throwing it off course. Oh no, whatever could she do? It's not like she can just magically course correct it and jam it right down its barrel. Oh wait, she can. The spear's about halfway down the barrel when the cannon just fucking fires. Well, no luck getting cannons to shoot each other, but getting cannons to just blow themselves up is beginning to look like a pretty sweet gig.

Yoake's ass impacts Carriage #10 from above. There is a horrific bang and the whole thing, this solid mass of metal just, crumples, cracks tearing through its form, the entire train reverberates from the impact. The thrusters all halt at once. The carriages bobbing chaotically in the water and falling to the side, basically just fucking derailing. Thrown up, thrown out from the impact is a flat metal disk roughly the shape of a drink coast albeit a bit thicker. Heaven's Draft. Shadows twist around it, congealing, a crosshair painting around it with a single dot at its center. A Black Halo. A final line of defence, the weapon powering the entire train just a split-second before now pumping its body full of that same might. What emerges is something else entirely. It is dress in black, black shoes, black clothes, black leather jacket, a silver cross hangs around its neck, a cross of burning neon pink in its hands, and a skeletal pair of wings formed out of lightsabers colored that same neon pink behind its back. Out of all the forms it could have taken, it apparently manifested as a near-carbon copy of the R&B phenomena The Weeknd. Yeah... go figure.

Minato had just burnt about half of his stockpile chasing down Storm Minds A and C when the entire train tipped over. Turns out these new models know when to cut their losses and just try to zone, using their dashes and superior reach to just keep him at bay. Might've almost worked, but he's got a floating arsenal now, one that as luck would have it, was pretty damn good for blasting him out the way of fire and straight through these constructs. Cost him four false Regalia though and the cannons are still firing at him, something that's a bit of an issue given that Luin seems to be perfectly happy to drag him through plasma flak to reach its prey. Doable of course, but something that'll chew through his arsenal fairly quickly. The fact that the train isn't so much a train as much as it's a collection of nine now-disconnected carriages drifting through a watery pocket dimension at speed doesn't really change that. The fact that Yoake is now alone fighting a lightsaber-winged copy of The Weeknd doesn't change his objectives either. If anything he'll need to get there faster to back him up, but Luin? Luin might not strictly get that, it, really just wants to murder everything and he doesn't have time to smell the murder roses right now. He'll need a plan.

Something's wrong with these missiles. Shef's had more time to watch them, it's a far easier task when they're no longer chasing you. He could already tell something was wrong, their trajectories, their angle of assault, they seemed to all be trying to come from the front, the ones from the back trying to curve in, as if trying to hit Yoake, and only Yoake. And when she teleported away, they just, swerved, swerved away from him and locked right back onto her. And the ones on Noriko, they're, worse somehow. It's like they're having a harder time of finding their target, some of them fail to even lock on to her, veering off somewhere else. It's like they're homing onto her less somehow. At first he wondered if it was some sort of bias or heuristics. High speed missiles to counter Yoake, ones that avoided him so he couldn't just portal them right into their own allies, but if that was the case, if they locked onto Noriko they should work just as well, there's no reason why they display such a clear loss in performance. Those wind spells of her, they have no right to be keeping them at bay.

So at the end of all this, here's the current situation:

Yoake finds Weeknd Alter dashing down towards her at speed with his laser cross, an array of fairly large cannons appearing around him, arrayed in a circular fan and pointing backwards as to blast the surrounding area after his cleaving strike. Four freshly deployed Storm Minds (E, F, G, and H) are also coming in from Carriage #9 though they're still a ways off. Also y'know, there's all the fucking missiles swarming towards her from basically every direction ever.

Shef is currently under fire from laser cannons I and J.

Minato is currently being pulled towards the freshly deployed laser cannons G and H from Carriage #7 by Luin. This is also pulling him right towards their flak blasts. Cannons E and F are now locking onto him, but since they're behind him, Luin's speed will likely render them a complete non-factor.

Faith and Yuki are still dealing with a whole load of missiles closing in on their vehicle.

Noriko is... actually, things are looking pretty good for Noriko right now. Cannon A's still trying to shake her off, C and D are locked onto her but don't seem too keen on doing friendly fire, and the missiles have proven to be completely ineffective against her thus far.

Woo! What a rush. Yoake sure was exhilarated, but the fight wasn't over yet!

Yoake begins to spin, twisting her hips, and she twists more and more furiosly until she leaps off the train carriage, pushing herself off the ground with her foot, and hopefully nudging the train car into the water. Once in the air, she cancels her Requiem, maintaing her spin and releasing the collected energy into a Full-Powered Vacuum Butt Cannon on the missiles targeting her.

Well that's fucking weird. Moreso than usual. Was Shef's only thought when Yoake stood up on the motorcycle and began touching herself all over her body with her breasts. But then, well, it seemed to work, as barely a second later there was the tearing screech as the front car of the train was crushed, and the heaven's draft popped out. It was around this time that Shef noticed the missiles had all abandoned him, focusing entirely on Yoake? He glanced back at the other groups, the missiles following Noriko but not Minato, and the swarm focused on the boatcar carrying Satoshi, Faith, Yuki, and Karen it seemed. Well, the missiles weren't motion detecting, or threat detecting. Minato was a threat, and Shef was moving nearly as fast as Yoake. Wait, they seemed to be only targetting the girls? No, the ratios might be the cause of that. . . Instead, why would there be so many on Yoake, and lesser but significant numbers on Noriko, and. . . Satoshi. Yep, that was probably it.

". . . Oh. . . God damn it." He sighed out, tone tinged with equal parts irritation, relief, and resignation. That could be dealt with later though, or never, maybe. For now they needed to win the battle. So he could give some information, just not all his guesses. Tapping into his mike, voice filled with hastily concealed exasperation, he said, "Everyone, the Rapiers--the missiles seem like they're being guided from the laser turrets. Take them out and you should take out the missile guidance systems."

So, now there was a last line of defense. Taking a storm mind and powering it up with the full energy of the heaven's draft, that was nice. And it was fast, and it was charging Yoake. Well, she was fast too, she'd be able to handle it with some help right? Shef rapidly processed all this, as he attempted to keep the motorcycle controlled. But, as soon as the last thought crossed his mind, he noticed that she was reorienting herself, aiming at the missiles, exposing herself to the leather clad thing.

Well, he'd have to cover her. The enemy held the heaven's draft, and the fact that it had enveloped it implied that it needed to be close for its power. Taking one hand off the handlebars, Shef lifted his pistol, pouring out energy into it. It was the same feeling as when he fueled up a tracer shot, but. . . more stable somehow, dense and more solid. As soon as he'd poured everything he could into it, he pulled the trigger, with an earsplitting bang.

The bullet would fly, straight with no portals, for the majority of its journey, until it was in position, in front of the enemy. Then portals, as fast as Shef could make them, turning the linear flight of the bullet into a blurred overlapping web, hitting the same space hundreds of times with pure concentrated physical force.

Use Enforcer[R] on the Weeknd, focus on first punching out the Heaven's Draft then hitting the Weeknd to damage it while it's weakened. And if it quickly recombines around the draft before it had a chance to be hit with the tight bullet web, punch the draft out again, and again. Alter to a 5.

Faith blinked as she looked out the rear of the vehicle. ”...oh.” Well, damn, Faith hadn’t expected herself to be capable of THAT with just one Freedom Beam, but the sad chunks of metal burning and sinking beneath the blue said that she in fact was. If there was anything that was a confidence booster, removing a train car cannon thing from existence probably was it.

She did have something else to focus on, though, specifically the swarm of LITERAL MISSILES converging upon her position. Or... no, they weren’t converging upon her position, they noticed, they were converging on... Satoshi’s? WELL THEY WERE ALL IN THE SAME “CAR” SO IT WAS CLOSE ENOUGH. ”Satoshiii, Karen, I’m not sure why, but I think they’re all flying towards you, not us!” Then Shef sent his message, and garnered an immediate response from Faith. ”Shef, that can’t be it, there are no cannons pointing our way —thanks Noriko— but a bunch of missiles are coming Satoshi and Karen’s way!”

That didn’t mean Faith couldn’t respond to the missiles, though, and respond she did, by pointing her hand now straight back, firing a very wide Beam (hopefully wide enough to catch all but perhaps a couple of them left to right) of yellow Bravado energy at the missiles and then sweeping it downwards across the missile swarm.

Faith tries to use a Freedom Beam in order to wipe out the incoming missiles! Alteration to a 5.

That was productive, probably. The cannons not firing at her had both upsides and downsides; it was making not dying a hell of a lot easier, but also significantly slowing down the rate at which she could destroy these. They had to go before she could help Minato with the new foe that had appeared - an overreliance on lightsaber-like weapons made her faintly nervous, recalling a certain encounter in an adult goods store - as they would tear her apart if she left them to their own devices.

Keep using this same method, and kill as many cannons as I can, starting by jamming a spear down A's barrel and leaping to C. Burn the next 2.

[Now Playing: Panther]

Okay so Weeknd Alter fucking blazes downwards like a shooting star, cross burning bright as shadows blacker than midnight trace its wake, a the cross scything down in an arc of devastation. One little problem, Yoake, isn't there. Yoake's gone. She's above, radiant buttocks unleashing her attack. The only thing awaiting the construct is rough ground streaking by at well over a eighty miles per hour, and a bullet. Let's start with the bullet. It goes through his chest. Something's wrong. It went straight through. No impact, no Heaven's Draft. It's like the guy's not even there. Next comes the ground, he touches it but no sand papering occurs. Something does happen though, as he leaps back up, mostly horizontal and beginning to float, wings spreading open to rapidly decelerate as the cannons fanning out around his back suddenly lock into a spinning cylindrical array around him. He's trying to block the hit. Whatever he did, it doesn't last for too long it seems or maybe it's just not reliable, wouldn't be doing this otherwise. He's canceled his attack and chance to try and catch Yoake in her recovery to dodge. And boy can he dodge. It's hard, trying to nail him between the cannons, the sudden deceleration, and swift footwork, still Shef manages to nail him in the shoulder and gut. Not the outcome, especially since it ain't the shoulder he's holding the weapon is. Two hits isn't bad, but with the overpenetration, it's not as damaging as it could be. Still, he's bleeding profusely, neon blood spilling forth from his wounds. At the very least, Shef's put him on a timer. The impact sends Weeknd Alter on its side and falling to the ground, spared once again from the sandpapering experience, this time by its cylindrical weapon arrangement.

Yoake meanwhile has succeeded in buying herself quite a lot of breathing room, all of the missiles near her blasted to pieces. There's more coming of course, but it's nowhere near as much. Still cause for concern though, especially since she now needs to get through them to continue engaging the target. Well, them and the four Storm Minds, unloading on her. They're, not accurate at all at this range, utterly trivial to dodge, but if she wants to catch up, she's going to need to cross over into close-range killzone, and if last time was an indication, these new models aren't in much of a hurry to get in range of her own assets.

Shef? Well he's probably loving life right now, his bike's gone, and he's tumbling across the ground having just taken the full firey wrath of two laser flak blasts.

Minato manages to put Luin Celtchair through cannons G and H, nothing too fancy, just a quick thrust through the internals and onwards to the next target. Cost him three units from the stockpile though, needed that much propulsion just to dodge the blasts which Luin seemed hellbent on dragging him through. He's blazing towards I and J now, I and J which are still firing at Shef. But that's now where his target is anymore, no, his target, Weeknd Alter in a couple seconds time will be below them and just off to the side, cleaving through his girlfriend's ride. E and F are still targeting him, but again, he's probably not at much risk unless he discards Luin.

Noriko takes out C and D. Not much to say here, the missiles continue to prove to be quite ineffective against her.

Faith's beam meanwhile had just ruined most of the missiles headed her way. She also fucked up Carriage #5 and pretty badly blasted #4 and #6. Not as badly as the that first shot of course, her beam being diffuse and whatnot, but #5 is basically all its armor facing her side before it. Still "most" is not "all", the target area was too spread, out too wide for a beam to fully cover, and when you're in a boatcar about to get half-lodged in dirt and what you didn't cover is still more missiles than you're comfortable with, that makes all the difference. So what happened was, Yuki basically just jumped at the enclosing missiles forcing them to swerve out the way of her ambiguous sexuality, lining them up for Karen's shockwave slash as Satoshi hit the nitro one last time. This time, the car didn't blaze, it just rocketed forwards, skipping across water than soon became earth, the skipping becoming basically a crash, the courier barely avoiding a flip as her vehicle spins the fuck out of control while off to the side, the train carriages just fucking crash and tumble. Well save for #10. #10 basically just got reduced to shrapnel thanks to Yoake. Speaking of things being reduced to scrap metal, Weeknd Alter's deceleration has sent him speeding (in terms of relative motion) this way, he's just flipping out of his spin and turning it into a flying, spinning cross strike on the car as something resembling a human ribcage wraps around him, some kind of barrier no doubt.

A series of events occurred, and this brought a series of reactions and thoughts from Faith. First: huh, so whatever this thing was, apparently it likes to make itself into some form of shooting star that comes down and phases through attacks like they're nothing, with some strange and terrifying mixture of bright and dark that was honestly a little awe-inspiring... great. Also, poor Shef. Second: hot damn, her attacks really WERE strong, not only had she vaporized the missiles, but she'd done a ton of damage to the carriages behind them... yeah, Faith could really get used to this. Third:

Oh shit oh shit oh SHIT THE CAR "Aaaaaaaah oh my God get out of the carrr!" Faith screamed as the boatcar bounced every which way, with an Aramitama ALSO heading towards it to presumably mess it up real badly, and then she took action... specifically orather gracelessly trying to just kind of... roll her way out of the boatcar and onto the ground as it spun out, relying on the absurd amount of shielding currently surrounding her body to keep her safe as she did.

Try to get out of the car! Also, burn a 1.

"No, lasers themselves aren't the tracking, something inside the turr--" And then his motorcycle was gone, and he felt two painful impacts of  something in his back."Mind--a little--warning next ti--me!?" The each bounce off the ground punctuated his shouting. As he flew along, he worked to reorient himself, head facing back towards the battle, feet pointed in the direction he was rapidly traveling. Additionally, switching his gun to his right hand. As soon as he was close enough to the dirt below him, he jammed his reinforced left arm into the ground, tearing out topsoil as he attempted to slow himself down.

"In case you didn't all see that. Leather guy can phase out of existence for short times. Make sure he's not when you hit him." Shef grunted out, as he clawed at the ground.

Attempt to claw the ground and slow down, then portal Minato generally in the opposite direction he's flying now, hyper [3] Hey, Look over there!.

Within that world, she was God. But here, outside of it, her name was Yoake o-Shiri. That was unimportant. She was a Godslayer. That too was unimportant. But what was important, was that she had a motherfucking boat.
And by God, was she going to use it.

Play it safe, finish destroying A. Take other turrets if the opportunity arises, but focus on not dying. Apply previous methods. Also burn a 2.

Out of the car and resolve-hyper-heal everyone because dang people need heals. If something gets close enough to be a threat, make it regret coming that close.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.
