Faith began to stammer when Yuki began with “Weeeelll, it would probably be really helpful”, starting a ”Well, um, Yuki, if you nee—“ And then abruptly Faith literally had a guy thrown at her by her sister. ”Yuki what the fu— oh God I really do need to move!”

Faith let or a little frustrated noise and then just started to book it to her room as fast as she could, propping up Vendellin near her doorway if she actually got there. Once in her room, if she had the time, she would toss off the ruined maid top, and put on a more normal shirt and pair of sweatpants from her backpack. If Faith had time from THERE, she’d grab one of Yuki’s skirts (she hadn’t brought as much stuff, huh?), stuff it into her backpack, and put the backpack on.

...oh, and she put up another goddamn shield on the way.

Faith goes for her and Yuki’s quarters here as fast as she can in order to put the above plan into effect, WITH a Shield of Courage because why the hell not

"Depends on how you define plan." She was almost getting used to this whole trusting your instincts thing, drawing on powers you didn't know you had and all that jazz. Though, in this case her "plan" had largely dissolved when the train turned out to mostly be a solid lump of iron, rather than an armored car she could breach and clear. Regardless, she reached down inside herself once again, dredging up another newfound power. "Let's try this. . . Narayanastra!" She stuck one hand into the air, as if reaching for something; evidently, she got whatever it was, as thousands of enlarged spears similar to the ones already floating ready at her side appeared, all around the armored behemoth, in the paths of the missiles; if they were higher up they might've blotted out the sun.

And then they dove downward, smashing themselves into their targets with as much force as Noriko could muster.

Alter to 6, use Narayanastra [R], use another Resolve point to apply Vasavi Shakti to the strike.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: Panther]

Noriko
For a moment there was silence. Absolute silence, still to the point of maddening, the very air seeming to freeze in place. And then came that noise, that great and terrible noise for which no word could describe. It was the wrath of the gods, the judgement of the divine, the sheer unadulterated salt that was Noriko's existence given form, given voice. The air haemorrhages spears, countless spears, enormous in size and vicious in their fury, immaterial weapons tearing through into reality, the great wounds they gouge becoming their forms, the still air becoming the divine winds that thrust them into their marks. The noise was immense, a terrible cacophony somewhere between a screech and a bang as they slammed into the train in an image more freudian and phallic than most gangbangs. The entire train shudders and groans, caught in the bastard lovechild of an iron maiden and vice, its blistering haste turned into an agonizing crawl, thrusters desperately trying to push it forwards against the otherworldly maw in which they found themselves ensnared.

Sparks fly, metal scrapes. The armor, it's too damn thick. Your spears can't break through and adding more doesn't help that. No, the best they could do is jam, scrape, ensnare. And maybe, maybe that will be enough. Faith's got her beams, Minato his explosives. If you could just inflict some damage, rattle its defenses.

There's a few more metallic groans. Thruster housings. Not as armored as the rest of the train. Not enough you can take them out with the impact along, but with the sheer number of spears being forced against them are crushing them, buckling their plating, jamming them shut.

You don't have the time to finish the job. The spears, now even now you can feel them beginning to fade. These attacks, they're powerful, flashy, but they're also draining, not the sorta deal you can afford to spam, and well, you aren't looking too hot yourself. Turns out those cannons fire laser flak. Caught one by graze and that, just let the next one slam right into you. Last thing those cannons did. You made sure of it. Four mounds of spears jammed down into the earth above where they once floated. They were evasive, not evasive enough though.

Missiles, those are all gone for now at least. Jammed right into the ground. Turns out they don't blow up when struck. Nice to know.

Goddamn, this better not become a regular thing.

Minato
Noriko's plan it seemed, was to slam you like a goddamn rag-doll right down into the train again. Interesting plan there. Y'know what's also interesting? The readings you're getting, pressed against bottom of the crater, jammed between a whole load of spears. You can't figure out too much, this train is evidently way better constructed than that sealing unit, but it seems like it was made in a rush too, you're able to pick up some spirit energy emissions some the surface damage. And well, the emissions are stronger at the front.

Normally you'd be expecting it a bit more uniform, or some kind of interference pattern, internal power cores and like distributing power out to core components and expanding outwards. Maybe some forward bias, some sort of hybrid system meant to leverage a frontal main core with power supply units on each carriage, y'know, because you're probably not gonna be able to power this all with a single core? Nope, not here. It's something else, as if ALL the energy is coming from something at the very front of the train, spirit energy flowing backwards from it, getting progressively used up as it travels, the leaks along its damage surface yielding weaker and weaker signals.

That, would require one hell of an energy source though, like way more shards than they'd be willing to bet on this train rather than just absorbing, like say... a lost templar superweapon with enough output to induce awakening-like states over the population of an entire city.

You've got a target now. You've got explosives. Now, you just need Noriko to let you fucking move again.

Shef
Yeah Yoake might have a little trouble getting here, you go grab a bike. Those missiles are pretty interesting, you're fairly sure they're magical but they have quite the striking resemblance to an actual piece of hardware, one you have some familiarity with - the British "rapier" surface-to-air missile. Accurate, simple to use, that was the idea. Record begs to differ. Fair amount of credited kills, not so many confirmed kills. And of course, in the older models, no proximity fuse. They needed to hit their target, and judging by what's happening with Yoake, the case seems to be the same here.

Hmm, they stopped. Same time as the laser cannons went down. That can't be a coincidence could it? Were they being used as guidance radars for the missiles?

"Where are the others?"
"Karen is currently engaged in combat in the kitchen. Faith and Yuki are currently running upstairs retrieving their clothes."

Satoshi meanwhile leaps into a sedan and it seems to, shift, flattening out and adopting a sleeker appearance resembling that of some sort of sports car, clad in gleaming angular armor, especially at the front. It ignites without her even needing to put in the keys.

With practiced grace she quickly pierces some sort of collapsible spike into the car, just below the instrument panel and clips a small plate and button to the steering wheel - an arcane nitro injector. And then, she floors it. The acceleration was in three bursts, so close they were almost simultaneous. The first from the engine, the second from the nitro, and the third when some ineffable glow came from her hands. Igniting with azure flames the car explodes forwards, tearing straight through into the kitchen

Yoake
There's no time Mary's bearing down fast, missiles aren't closing in much slower either. With a quick slash you bring your assets slicing in a blindingly fast arc tearing into the motorcycle, tearing a deep gouge through it. Doesn't stop Mary from returning the favor though, impaling your car's engine. Looks like you'll need another ride. Hold that thought, missiles incoming. The missiles, okay wow, they do not mess around, you quickly find that dodging doesn't work at all that that you basically end up having to try and outrun the damn things, weaving every now and then to leverage your maneuverability versus their speed to maintain the gap. At least, until the train got snatched up by Noriko's spears. The pursuing missiles suddenly shutting down and crash landing across the lawn.

Mary wrenches her weapon free and sprints towards you, about to go for a lunging slash. Well, she was about to but then Satoshi just fucking runs her down leaving an unconscious and unarmored Mary in her wake. How convenient.

Faith and Yuki
Okay so Karen just runs straight at Evi before suddenly sliding the canister down on the floor. Smoke emanates from it, the plume quickly enshrouding her foe before a whip strike lashes out, scything through the cloud and splitting it apart. Bladed whips are ineffective against plate. Karen managed to do a bit of damage previously by focusing the energy on the very tip of her weapon. A wide sweep, that's a lot less effective. You know what is effective though? A wide sweep with a binding talisman stuck right on the whip. Smoke clears, Evi's anchored to the floor, ceiling, and bench by chains of paper talismans, Karen turns towards you two and looks like she's about to say something when a missile strikes her right in the side and blasts her straight through a wall. Judging by the scraps of fabric left in the wake, she really isn't going to be happy.

Thankfully no missiles lock onto you two so you guys quickly start running back up into your quarters. As you're running up the stairs, you hear something crash down into the kitchen behind you. As you pass the lounge you notice an awfully large hole in the floor, almost as if say some gold-and-alabaster Catholic rip-off of the Doof Wagon carrying a laser guitar wielding knight caved in the floor with its sheer weight all while blaring out gregorian chants, y'know, the the one just under the hole now engaged in combat with Karen? Rounding into your rooms, you've just grabbed your clothes (though haven't quite yet put them on) when there's another crash from down below.

Satoshi's voice comes out from your headsets again.
"Hurry down the hole! I'm getting Karen right now, I'll swing back around and pick you up."

Okay, now Yoake was seriously pissed. Her car! She was the only one allowed to wreck her shit! What gall!

She rushes over to Shef's bike, taking the driver's seat as he sits behind her, and pulls out the nitrous injector.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. Let's blast this fuckin' thing."

She plugs the injector into the bike, using all three charges. She also activates her Requiem at the same time, aiming for a long land to extend ahead of her, so there's space enough to reach the front of the train.

Yoake hadn't arrived yet, so Shef occupied himself with spectating. Watching the arcs and turns that the missiles took, Shef found that he recognized the design. British Rapiers it looked like, an old model, since they'd been upgraded with proximity fuses in the late eighties. Pretty light, nimble little things, meant for taking down high mobility supersonic aircraft. 8 kilometer range if he was remembering right, fragmentation explosive. Lighter payload than one would think, since the designers always expected it to hit. On something with a proximity fuse, you needed a bit more oomph to get a kill. Early models didn't have that many confirmed kills, but worked well as a deterrent. Because of that, they'd probably have been phased out a while ago, right. . .? Shef shifted, a little perplexed. BAC would have been the manufacturers of models like these, directly supplying the royal air force. So how would they get here, on a train, in a sanctuary, in Japan, probably twenty years after they became obsolete?

Shef mentally shook himself; he was getting distracted, and he could worry about the less pressing details later.. He watched silently as the missiles began to curve downward, before plowing into the ground. That was too short, they could go longer, and solid fuel motors wouldn't be able to be shut down (though who knew with magic). Most likely the guidance had been taken out.

After the quick succession of thuds of a number of the missiles dropping to the ground, Shef realized Yoake might be a bit, and revved the bike, starting out across the lawn. He pulled wide around the mansion until he could see Yoake dashing towards him. He braked quickly, then hopped off the motorcycle as soon as it had slowed down enough to jog beside.

As soon as she was close enough, he called out, a little relieved. "You're in one piece. Good to see. You drive, you're better. We need to get to the front of the train, fast. Then. . .well, we'll see when we get there." As soon as she'd hopped on, Shef climbed on behind, holding on tightly around her waist. From his previous experience with her driving, he wasn't sure that would be enough.

Get to Yoake, have her drive. Hold on. Head to the front of the train. Use some portals to defend along the way if necessary.

Faith jumped about four inches in the air out of surprise when Karen got hit with a fucking missile, but, shit, she’d had to go and so she did. Then she jumped AGAIN at the sound of a massive crash from down the... giant hole in the floor, okay, whatever.

Faith sighed — she should have come to expect this sort of thing by now, but the upshot meant that she wouldn’t be able to get all she wanted to get done done. But, hell, she could split the difference, couldn’t she? She wouldn’t be able to take her bag with her, likely, but what she could do just fine was button a skirt on real quick and toss a shirt on over the tattered sad remains of the maid uniform.

So she moved to do exactly that, and then with a ”Yuki, get a skirt on, then we gotta go on down!” She moved (popping up ANOTHER god damned glowing shield), then, to head down the hole.

Faith puts up a FIFTH shield of courage, quickly puts on a skirt and a shirt without taking off her ruined maid top, and then jumps down the hole.

Yuki, for her part, seems about as bothered as she always is: Not. She pretty much didn't care that she was in her underwear, at least until Faith told her to put a skirt on. "Huh? Do we have the time?" she asked, but she did put it on before hopping down the hole.

Drop another heal on everyone, then put on a skirt, then hop down the hole before Faith and chainsaw any enemies that are down there.

Well. Most of that was unexpected. Could have really done without the flak burst, though. . . At least she hadn't had to do a whole lot of picking herself up, the sheer mass of spears around her had stopped her from really falling over in the first place. They were fading, though, which wasn't ideal; this thing was probably going to start up again soon enough, and she didn't know how much of it was going to reactivate when all the spears were all the way gone.

Noriko winced a bit when she realized what she'd done with Minato. "Sorry about that, lost you in the mass of things. Won't happen again, but uh, you're flying with me again." He needed to get to the front of the train, and quickly; she could physically carry him there, compromising her evasiveness, or. . .

Sudarshana Minato again. Fly forward, huck him toward the front of the train as I do so. Clear a landing spot for him if the spears aren't gone when he lands.

Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: Panther]

Minato and Noriko
Aight, so Noriko makes Minato her bitch spear again and just launches the man forwards, less a throw and more just a sustained boost, fading spears raising to give him a path. He's halfway across the second carriage when the spears fade to naught, when the once-still behemoth crashes forth just absolutely hurling itself forwards. For a moment, he slips, he fumbles, armored boots failing to grip. Divine winds catch him, and his blades, really just tendrils of raw concepts at this point, lance forwards and strike metal and where they connect, reality seems to shudder. There are no sparks, no scraping screech, just visual aberrations and a sound, a sound that was out of this world, for it truly was out of this world. The blades pierce inwards, not deeply enough, not nearly deeply enough, but what they cannot pierce they overlap, they embed, forms lengthening becoming something different, something else entirely.

The connection reverses.

Minato is no longer dragging his copies around. They are dragging him.

They pierce the train, again and again and again, each strike further forwards, each strike pulling Minato onwards, towards his target, towards his objective. He breaks into a sprint, and his false regalia thunders forth with him, another four pairs of appendages clawing their way forwards with alarming speed.

He's just crossed the fifth carriage now. His forgeries are fading now, reverting, back into blades. In front of him, around him, behind him, defenses erupt all over the train. Six floating laser cannons. two pointed at Noriko, two pointed at each approaching vehicle. Four Storm Minds rise before him. Newer models. Or maybe just desperate variants. Heavy plating, same kind as the train. Bulky. Militaristic. Gatlings, helical blades mounted to the front, half-bayonet, half-blender. And umbilical chords, thick, coming out their spine and hooking them up to the carriages. No numbers this time. Guess we'll be calling them A, B, C, and D. Sounds about right. B immediately dashes towards Minato, aiming to impale and shoot  him with its weapon. A and C dash off to the side, floating in the air as their weapons become black vortexes, crossing beams of gunfire strafing out a lead carpet for B's advance. D dashes backwards, keeping its distance and keeping its weapon trained on its approaching target though holding its fire for now.

Noriko, you, are on carriage... actually yeah, which carriage are you on? #3's as far as you could've gone, and #1's detached, its exterior currently folding out to reveal that massive cannon. All of them are spewing out missiles, though, a fair few locking onto you, but the majority going for the two approaching vehicles. The ones that have are having to loop around, coming at you horizontally from both sides.

Shef and Yoake
Hey remember how Yoake's fucking insane? Yeah well that's still a thing. Fucking all three nitros sunk right into the bike. Yoake's Requiem blooms outwards as the two of you hurtle forwards, soon enough dragging the train in as well. It, it speeds up. It just starts skimming on the water's surface, the damn thing didn't even have wheels, it was just plowing through the earth on thrusters alone it seems, and removing all that earth from the equation has just sped it up. Not that it's much of a net gain though - Noriko's fucked up a fair number of its thrusters.

Two laser cannons start taking aim at you two as a curtain of those hyper-persistent missiles begin closing in. You're currently in-line with the sixth carriage.

Faith and Yuki
Well, Yoake's Requiem goes off, so things get a bit easier. Easier as in "there's no floor beneath your feet anymore, so you don't even need to walk to the hole". You land in Satoshi's car, or what used to be a car, it's apparently shifted into being more of an open-topped boatcar at this point.

"Hold on tight!"

You barely have time to react, let alone reply. The car flares again with flames and lances forwards, narrowly dodging a guitar beam.

The two of you, plus Karen, are currently in a turbocharged boatcar driven by Satoshi. It is currently in-line with the second carriage. Missiles are streaking down towards you, two laser cannons are taking aim, and in the distance behind you, Arnold is swinging his laser guitar wildly, beams scattering through the air while besides him, Fleur surfs an ever-growing wave of holy fire atop her shield.

"Not good, not good at all." Lots of armor, lots of weapons, things that homed in on her. She wasn't that great at defense, so she'd have to come up with some way of dealing with these, or just follow Minato and hope. No, she could deal with this, at least until the others got here. She grabbed one of her healing potions from. . . somewhere and downed it before springing into action, jumping onto one of the laser cannons currently locked onto the approaching vehicles and tossing a spear outward towards one of the others.

Try to jam a spear down the barrel of one of the lasers shooting the vehicles while I try to bait the laser cannons locked onto me into shooting the other. Help Minato dodge, starting by shifting him out of the path of the first attack.

Also drop that 1 from my line.

Shef, clinging on tightly, glanced back. Set of Rapiers incoming, and some laser turrets looked like they were reorienting. And, since a bike doesn't really offer much protection, and well, he couldn't stop all that firepower, he settled on what seemed the obvious choice. There was really only one option: More speed.

"Yoake! Portals! DON'T CRASH!" He had to shout this over the roar, but hopefully she'd hear. Concentrating to the point of pain, Shef began to open portals, one after another, slightly out of line with each other, jumping the motorcycle repeatedly closer to the front of the train. The portals were arranged such that the exits points varied slightly farther or closer to the train, to throw off the missiles and lasers; a small extra layer of defense. As they approached the front car, the portals would lead closer until they were right next to the train, then a final portal into the front car.

Use Room to Breathe [3] to speed up the motorcycle and then portal into the front car of the train. If the front car is solid all the way through, just portal to the other side of the train, maybe get the missiles to hit the car. Once they're inside the front car, jump off the bike to let it go crashing forward into presumably enemies. (1 Resolve to slightly speed up the Room to Breathe, and help not get injured as much by jumping off a speeding motorcycle, 1 Resolve donated for Yoake)

Yoake was a competent driver. She had learnt how to hande all kinds of vehicles in her time.

Travelling through portals was no different.

She zips through the portals created by Shef, approaching the front car.

Now, time for the real fun to begin. Standing up from the motorcycle, still firmly gripped to it, Yoake sharpens her nipples and touches various places throughout her body, activating Self-Rackupressure, as the slight pain sends power and adrenaline rushing through her veins. She then leaps off the motorcycle, leaving it to head into the front car. She spins in mid-air, and is then gone into space. She performs Interstellar Butt, attempting to exit inside the front car of the train and slam whatever is inside to the ground, but if there is no interior just slam the car down.
