Shef and Yoake
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: The Pretender]

Right, so, this should be where shit hits the fan. Bullets are flying everywhere, wall's getting cleaved apart, Kimura's on the floor screaming. Should be, but for god knows what reason your foes aren't moving. They're suppressing, they're holding the line, but they're not attacking. Not yet at least.

Shef, you get to work suppressing the suppressers, another burst of gunfire scattering towards 20 and 24, they swing their barrels to face you and Yoake rushes through the gap. There's an exchange of fire. Five seconds of sound and fury. You're, not looking too hot, but you better see the other guys. 24's crippled, inky clouds roiling out from its wounds, it's, not standing up too well, you're not sure if it can even fire in this state. 20, got crucified, ventilated, stuck right up against the back wall, the lightning in its head extinguishing.

Yoake, you bring your butt up at 21, tries to dodge. Tries to. It's a backwards leap. It's backwards to give it a bit of space. It's a leap to try and leave your range, or at least weaken the blow. Guess what? It does neither. Not only do you land the strike, it time its thrusters so poorly they only fire after you send it flying, jamming its head up into the ceiling like some sort of gravity-defying ostrich.

It's at this point where what appears to be a shock drill, the width of a basket ball tears through the wall. It's not the cleanest shot, but with an unaware victim, it gets the job done, severing 22's leg off at the hip.

The tide's turning, but you're not done yet. The three construct floating outside, with their blades of twilight and armor numbered 25 to 27 twirl their weapons, sending beams of energy tearing towards Kimura, beams that, as experience has taught you, will soon be followed by explosions.

Oh and remaining close quarters Storm Minds er, open fire. Um, yeah uh, two of them can't actually stand and the remaining one is still trying to dislodge their head, but they're still trying to fire. Needless to say, of the two squads, this isn't the one you should be worried about.

"Come on Yoake! We're getting the fuck out of here." The storm minds, while being worn down slowly, were certainly a threat. The amount of time it would take them to finish off the persistent remnants was too long, and the careful, hesitant manner in which the things fought implied that they were waiting for reinforcements of some type. Still trying to keep himself covered, stinging from the grazes and impacts he'd received, Shef waved his hand, creating a series of portals. He pushed Kimura in, and shouted to Yoake before jumping in himself. "Get in!"

Shef uses Room to Breath for multiple people (by expending resolve). He will try to create a set of consecutive downward portals that will end up with all three of them outside the front of this apartment building, hopefully near Yoake's car. Alteration to a 6.

Yoake sees Shef, and nods.

She runs, sliding into the portal and into her car, driver's seat.

Shef and Yoake
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
[Now Playing: The Pretender]

As the whole damn world explodes around you, y'all get the fuck outta dodge, half-falling, half-flying through down to the car. Key goes into the ignition, engine revvs. By the time the DEO model Storm Minds find you again the light in their heads is all but gone. Their movement ceases, and for a moment, they begin to fall.

But guess what? To the surprise of no one involved, they don't just die anticlimactically! Who would've guessed?

From each construct, something flies out. Small pellucid cylinders, empty. They flare back to life, accelerating in free-fall as they twirl their weapons, readying for strafing run.

"So, what's the plan now? Just drive?"

"What else?" Shef inquired after he had shoved Kimura into the backseat, and hopped into the passenger seat himself. As the car sped out, he turned around in his seat, aiming out the back at the three pursuers. He fired a few shots out in their general direction, and barked out, "Kimura, stay down. Hanako," this into the comms, "Just take some shots at them. I don't know where your perch is, but first, get as many shots in as you can before we're out of range. And second. Don't hit us."

Shef fires a few shots at the pursuing Storm Minds, probably focusing on #25

Yoake stepped on the gas as soon as she hit the seat, zooming out into the street.

She realized that they would need to knock these bogies off their tail if they were to get out of here safely...

And so, she turned the steering wheel sharply, as a large portal appears in front of them, showing a vista of galaxies. Her swimsuit shines brightly, and it seperates into a two-piece with fluttering yellow ribbons trailing behind her. The car travels through the portal, and when it reappears it will be spinning much faster, and hopefully where the robots are.

You win.

No seriously, you win.

The Storm Minds were expecting a lot of things, this wasn't one of them.

The hot rod tears through the portal and across the an alien sky 'neath constellations unknown, spinning and spinning faster, the world twisting and turning as you fall toward a planet you will never reach, and then crashing, crashing hard, right back to Sendo, right back in the middle of the Storm Mind formation. They didn't even stand a chance.

So you're now all sprawled out on the pavement, the Storm Minds are, well, they're alive, that's about all could be said about them, they're pretty fucked up and in no condition to continue the fight. You? You're both no worse for wear. Kimura? Well uh, he's alive at least, right he's currently on all fours choking as his body tries to scream and retch at the same time.

Shef was panting a bit, as he coughed out his words. ". . .L-let's get him back to the safe house. Can have our fun with him there. Maybe tomorrow or something." He was in a fair bit of pain, and currently very annoyed by how the mission had gone. Yes, Yoake had basically ended it, but in the most insane fashion. And it had worked perfectly, something that Shef could only assume would inspire her to go even further next time. That was a terrifying thought. And of course, there was the fact that this entire shipment of drugs was in fact being controlled by someone a lot bigger.

"Gonna need a fucking drink after this. And I don't drink. God damn it." He muttered this as Yaoke presumable got the car started up again to head home.

Yoake runs her hand through her hair, waving it about.

"Man, a bit of a wild one today, huh? Let's go home and eat somethin'."

She puts on a pair of sunglasses from underneath her seat as she put the car on autopilot, letting it drive off to the safehouse.

Shef and Yoake
So you lot start heading back. Not gonna lie, the car's pretty beat-up, the suspension creaks, the windscreen's smashed, you cop quite a few weird glances, though nothing comes out of it. How could it? The car's driven by o-Shiri Industries' jester-cum-CEO, at this point, it's just another part of life in Sendo. The sun rises, the world spins, the tech giant's so-called founder does weird shit.

Into the safehouse you go, and boy are you in for a surprise, it's a box, a big grey box. Gone are the crystal waters and all traces of nature, gone are the store fronts and walkways. You are in a box just wide enough for you to open the doors, a single door in front leading down a long corridor to a bare interrogation room. As you enter the door vanishes behind you. There are no lights here, but there is light everywhere, bright, any brighter and it'd be a nuisance, covering every inch, every surface such that no shadows may exist. The tables, the chairs, they're not so much traditional furniture so much as just outcroppings of the floor. Magic is in the air, dire magic, to seal and crush, imprison and destroy, it permeates the very air, thick, heavy, a humorless seriousness to it all.

"Sorry for the shock, we're not taking any chances," Enn explains "not all Awakened are obvious and if this man's a trojan horse, we're not going to let him compromise the facility. We'll be watching, we've got guards stationed in the walls too, but if you see something we don't, just call out, cut your link, anything really. We'll eject you and dispose of the room. If he's still alive, we've got plenty of contingencies in place."
"Lighten up Shef, the color matches your scowl, why you must feel right at home. Yoake, try not to traumatise the guy, Shef's gotta take a call."

Shef, a new voice enters your earpiece, a forwarded call. There's not proper cell signals in this room after all, so it's been forwarded by the AI to you. Caller ID says Watanabe.
"Shef! The hell happened down there? I'm hearing reports of gunshots, you're not hurt are you?"

"Yeah, yeah. Put 'em on." He leaned up against a wall, and motioned for Yoake to go on with the guy. He maintained his scowl.

"Hello to you too. Hurt? Sorta. Take more than a little time to walk this off. Basically, we went in to get the guy, and they had an ambush set up for us. Got the warning before it went off, so we're better than we might have been. But fighting six things with gatling guns is no walk in the park."

"No need for flowers. Even if I was hurt that bad, the fuck would I do with them? Yeah it hurt, but I'm gonna be fine, we bagged the guy, and he's mostly unhurt. For now. Got a new ally too, but I'm not really sure what to think of that." Shef didn't really raise his voice , but if Kimura heard, that would be fine. It seemed like that was the interrogation style that they were planning.

"Got any more info for me I should know before going in to see the guy?"

Noriko flopped down in the area of the safehouse she shared with Kouta, and spent a good twenty minutes explaining to the boy why she still smelled a bit like blood and looked like she was ready to cover herself in more of it; the process did help a bit, as the boy's occasional giggles (that turned into an outright fit of laughter at the pole vaulting) got to her eventually. Currently, they were set up playing Ring; Noriko was driving around what amounted to a futuristic Humvee while Kouta's character manned the machine gun mounted on the back.
