Hey Funk, how will we handle contacts? Can we pray to the RNG for contacts or will you use your almighty gm/narrative powers to predetermine when our contacts show up?

You have to ask and i'll role to see if they turn up.
Haveing them fit in to the narrative will improve your chances and outcomes.

I would like to spend a contact point if they bring Vogel and I to their main group. Just stating that ahead of time.

If any of you are wondering what Phillip is talking about here's a link to Wikipedia and an SB thread-respectively talking about it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Army#Cold_War
https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/soviet-army-category-c-iii-divisions.404449/
He's theorizing that the use of a M-16 denotes that the groups originating Unit might be one of the such Categorizes, which might have a lack of available-or in good condition-equipment. My wording makes sense right?

They probably wouldn't normally issue them with M-16s, that would be more likely to be found in cat A or B units intended to operate behind enemy lines, or re-equipped with local conscripts and captured weapons. Cat C troops would have russian arms issued, jsut not new ones. There are still piles of mosins, maxims and AK-47s stocked up in warehouses for them, along with rows and rows of old tanks and shitty APCs or IFVs. Im not quite sure(Ive never dead it fully), but THIS may talk about it more indepth, and Phillip may well have read it IC.

Hmm, yeah I can see that but with the Twilight Wars who knows heck considering we're using stuff from the Paul Mulcahy website Armies are dragging B.A.R.s out of storage so eh.

Well, if they still have them in storage somewhere. And there are notes about front-line units getting issued captured gear to make up combat losses, mostly in the form of vehicles.

(Army stores have everything in there some where and if you just had the right form...
We've all heard the tale of the barrel that's been passed around half the royal navy and turns out to be full of food from the battle of Trafalgar)

More on Soviet Doctrine not that a nuclear war might change things a little bit on both sides...

I'd think that a unit with M-16s has probably been in combat for some time, meaning they're probably as dangerous no matter whether they're Cat A losing most of their vehicles or Cat C having salvaged vehicles.

Speaking of vehicles, who drives what? We have the "jeep" and carrier drivers plus the gunner for the latter.

Ground Vehicle (Wheeled) Assets:
Oceanus: 9
Philip: 10
Eveline: 8
Anderson: 8
Paul: 8

If everyone gets back to camp, then it appears that Oceanus and Philip are the best drivers. What kind of gun is mounted on the carrier? Would it use the autogun skill?

Nato Heavy Mount?

Should be an M2HB, which would use the autogun skill.

Good to know.

Anyway, I think we're currently waiting for the detachments to arrive with the updated intel?

Also, I am going to be away for twelve days or so, from 2017-05-02 to 2017-05-14.

If action happens while you're away, what should your character do? Should they be doing stuff or should they just sit in background? Have a safe twelve days dude.
