How do you roll initiative for a draftee? Is it 1D6+2 or 1D6 divided by 2?

Also is there any equipment that I should specifically purchase?

It's 1D6+2 and round down, re-roll if 0.

There no equipment that you really need purchase, you get the basic personal load (Page 64) for free.

Got it. I guess rolling a 6 and getting an initiative of 8 took me a back. I don't expect to be lucky for some reason. :P

I was actually asking if there's anything that the team really needs for its group inventory. I should have the time today to quickly scan over everyone's inventory. I'll try to fill any gaps we might have. It shouldn't take too long with only 5000 to spend.

What sorta skills do you have? Do you have gunsmith? If you have gunsmith, we could use a fair few tools for reloading ammunition.

Also, did anyone bring a battery charger?

I'm not a fan of you reloading ammunition, it's ether away for you to cheaply buy ammo for the larger guns or a waste of time and money over buying normal ammo.

Actually, I think this might actually be 1D6 divided by 2 - 1d6+2 will never have any rounding issues, just as 1d6+2 rounded down can never be 0.

I was actually asking if there's anything that the team really needs for its group inventory. I should have the time today to quickly scan over everyone's inventory. I'll try to fill any gaps we might have. It shouldn't take too long with only 5000 to spend.
For group inventory, I guess this might be explosives if your character can use them. I'd also add medical supplies, but they're all rare.
For your own inventory, I'd suggest at least the following: A hatchet, a 0.5km hand radio, binoculars, IR goggles, a geiger counter, a kevlar vest, and helmet (unless American, where you get them for free). I'd also recommend weapons firing either 5.56 N or 7.62N, since that's what we have much ammo of. But you probably already have all or most of that.

Also, did anyone bring a battery charger?
Yup.

Spoiler: Character Sheet (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Character Creation (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Equipment (click to show/hide)
I made a civilian farmer. It ossibly could have been more optimal to make a civilian mechanic or gunsmith for a more balanced group composition, but not everything has to min-maxed I guess. As for my equipment, I have to actually go back and define what's actually on my character at some point. Also I might revisit the purchases given that I still have $230 left.

Looks great! With some fields, we definitely won't starve now :-)
Does anybody know where I can find farming rules?

True enough.

I'm going to go and write up my equipment.

Also, @Funk: If I remember correctly from last game, shooting a certain body part increases difficulty by one, but I can't find the corresponding rules. Do you know where to find them?

I cant find the farming rules via searching the rulebook. Rules for shooting things start on 201, and I cant see anything on aiming for specific limbs there.

Page 151 just says that farming is a Hard Work task. So if we do any long term farming, I guess we have cook something up for the game.
