Name: Faith Ai Tatsumaki
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: Faith is significantly taller than most Japanese girls, standing at 5'7" thanks to the fact that her mother is tall in her own right even by American standards. In terms of her build, Faith isn't quite overweight but she isn't petite by any stretch -- she has a somewhat above average weight and, yes, a large bust size. Faith is recognizably Japanese, but a few things mark her pretty much stereotypically an American: straight, vivisly blonde hair that goes down to her shoulders, blue eyes, and perhaps just something about her skin tone or complexion. She pretty much exclusively wears casual, western style clothing like jeans, skirts, and t-shirts, usually in bright colors.
Current Regalia: A set of thin, long convex plates that appear across her chest in a kind of plate mail under her shirt when she's in combat; they won't be seen often, but these red, white and blue plates provide her with some protection that she otherwise usually lacks against physical attacks.
Background: Eighteen years ago in Sendo, a businessman reached an executive rank in a company -- he might not have been part of the most inner circle, but he was getting fairly high up in the company. The company was doing well, and so was he... and then corruption and scandal brought it to a sudden crashing halt. The business man had been devoted to his work, and with that abrupt failure his life came to a screeching halt too. He became something of an alcoholic, and engaged in an affair with an American tourist... so he got tossed out by his wife.
This led to him coming back with the woman he was having an affair with (it was at the very least more than just a cheap fling, betrayal though it was) to the United States, near Miami. A couple months later he would get said woman pregnant, and the two of them ended up marrying. Then they had a daughter (Faith), and they made an attempt at a family life for a while. The businessman was out of his element but rather skilled, and they did decently for a while, simple middle-class. His alcoholism even did better for a while, a time period in which he had a fairly close relationship with his daughter.
Faith grew up usually a cheerful and boisterous child, the blonde little girl learning both Japanese and English, and she was a pretty happy girl for her young childhood in general. Distance between her and her father would grow as not only did she get older and change in the way she interacted with the world, but he fell off the wagon and began to sink back into alcoholism, something that would strain the family and push Faith to her mother, the parent she is significantly closer to even now.
Things never got truly awful, but they did get fairly bad from time to time, so it was probably a good thing that she got an opportunity to go to Sendo: the school she attended in Cutler Bay had something of an exchange program starting up, and when she got to head over to Japan she went and did so, determined to see the place her family had come to be and confront life there with a smile and a loud greeting.
What helped with this is that she had been told a year or two ago that she had a half-sister named Yuki, and now that she got to go to Sendo she decided that she would meet her... directly, though, since she doubted Yuki's mother would want to see her. They've met by now (and it turns out they go to the same school), but only a short while ago. Faith, however, intends to get to know her half-sister.
Stats: Hyper Attack: 14 - Faith, of course, is a girl with a rather thorough ability to blow things into little pieces with massive bursts of powerful magic. This massive investment of her power and experience represents a few things. First of all, it represents that when Faith slings a Hyper, it is powerful, even without the boost from her Regalia. Secondly, it represents that her moves are accurate, as she’s had plenty of practice hitting tricky targets. Thirdly, it represents that Faith is capable of releasing these Hypers quickly, which makes sense as they’re often instinctual blasts of emotion.
Energy Manipulation: 14 - Faith’s abilities are more than a mere faucet of incredible explosions; at the core, her abilities are about manipulation of energy, which can be used for utility. After training with Sol and Luna, this has manifested in increased control both of the shape of her magic, which can easily be reshaped, morphed, and mixed together, but also in the contamination of other magical energy with hers, allowing her to control that other energy in turn.
Mobility: 8 - When you have all of the physical toughness of a china teapot, it’s important that you get where you need to be, not be where you don’t, and that you can do what you need to do. Accordingly, Faith has grown to be good at this, and this stat, and all of its investment, governs moving quickly, mitigating disorientation, and using items quickly.
Physicality: 1 - Faith is... not strong, and she isn’t particularly tough either, especially by Awakened standards, an extremely notable weakness of hers. Faith cannot take hits well, she cannot physically fight well, and when she actually has to do so she doesn’t know how to deal with her for. This stat governs physical strength, physical toughness, and close combat fighting reflexes.
Requiem: Balance of the Heart: Faith's magic is borne directly from her emotions, though the way that this has manifested has altered with time. When Faith is in good spirits and has positive emotions and high morale, the raw damage of her Hypers increases, the Hexes they all now have decreased in efficacy. When Faith is in poor spirits, and is experiencing negative emotions, instead her Hypers lose some raw damage and instead gains more power to her Hexes.
Hypers: [3, Bravado] Shield of Courage/Shield of Apathy: Faith summons a shield made of her courage and moxie, that will protect her from some of the damage of the next attack made against her, especially when Faith's emotions are more positive. When they are more negative, however, it is born from feelings of apathy and hesitation -- it is less effective at mitigating attacks, but better makes enemies slower when the shield is broken, infusing them with apathy thanks to learning from Luna's Madness.
[4, Bravado] Freedom's Beam: Faith does her best to be inspiring and gathers her morale to actually fire a magical laserbeam that in addition to doing ranged Hyper damage will slightly increase the damage of the next attack of any allies next to the hit enemy.
[5, Bravado] Truth’s Strike: Faith mimes firing a rifle and sends a tightly packed bullet of energy at the enemy. Though Faith can’t really effectively increase the size of this attack like with several of her others, this bullet is highly resistant to phasing, redirection, and shield effects.
[5, Negative Emotion]: No Way Out: Faith fires a magical pair of bolas at the enemy -- when these hit they burn with magical energy and though they don't physically bind the target they do magically render the enemy unable to evade or run, though not unable to attack. They last until broken physically or magically, though the former is harder.
[6, Negative-Emotion]: Desperation Break: Faith lets out a frustrated blast of negative emotion magic that in the form of a wave of dark purple energy can strike a couple of opponents at moderate range, doing a large amount of ranged damage but at the expense of putting Faith into an emotional breakdown that makes her more vulnerable and fragile and closes off all her Bravado hypers until she calms down.
[R, Bravado] A Hit for Hope: Faith summons a sort of glowing ball of optimistic and brave emotions, hurling it at her opponent; not only does it deal decent ranged damage, but it will also heal her moderately as well.
[R, Bravado] Lucky Sunbeam: Faith fires off another beam, but this one is yellow and so bright it hurts to look at. Lucky Sunbeam can only be used with a 6, and upfront does a stupid amount of heat damage to a single target. The negative effects of the 6 are also amplified, tending towards exhaustion or clothing damage.
[R, Negative-Emotion] Piercing Insecurities: Faith creates a vicious needle-like spear of negative emotion and insecurity that hits a single enemy and pierces into them. Though this can only be used during a Desperation Break emotional breakdown, it does quite a lot of ranged damage and will weaken their defensive ability for the remainder of the battle.
