You take most of your Army with you to fight the mercenary forces, leaving only couple hundred to maintain the siege.

Two days later, it is evident that the battle will be at the Valley of Porkflowers!

The mercenary Eist Army deploys in a line formation, with the Eist bannermen and dwarves somewhere in the middle. It seems that you're evenly matched at the moment.

A) Let's deploy in a line formation as well, then!
B) Let's return and resume the siege of Tagar, then!
C) Let's set a camp at an easily defended location, then!
D) Let's send cavalry to the flank and foot to the center, then!

If it is even strength, we should try and gain an advantage wherever we can. D might have also been an acceptable solution, but if they are showing a line formation as early as they are, it could be bait of some kind.

Hmm. Hopefully the dwarves haven't brought any of their earth-mages to wreck our defences. Because setting up camp makes the most sense; they need to go through us to reach the city, and we're in a valley- the only way they can go is through us, or the long way around.

The Dwarves are crafty. We cannot trust to fight them with fortifications when they will simply rip them from under our feet. However, if we are able to rout the Kashites, we will be able to encircle and destroy them from the flanks. The infantry would simply need to keep them occupied.

When our first guy died from dwarven magics we had been sieging for almost a year or something. I doubt they can muster that kind of earth magic that quickly. C is the best option in my opinion.

C We just shouldn't sit for a long time. But if they are going to prepare their magic we can just leave the valley or attack them before they do something.

It's VERY IMPORTANT to note that Dwarves aren't magic-affine by...position. We're facing HEAVY INFANTRY rather than MAGIC INFANTRY. :P
The problem is, we do not know what these folks are capable of--but we did have a rather general note back there that our harassing cavalry was a match for 80 dwarves, winning the fight.

C
I've been pondering on D, but our center is probably going to crumple due to the dwarves, but I don't see anything about harassment options or such.
