The parties were meh. The peasants were of course grateful for the festivals, but mayhaps the influx of pretty things from Calvendocia got them used to prosperity and wealth.

965 AD, Winter

On the morning of the first day of snow, you have two peoples wanting to see you; there's a messenger from the Duaz garrison, saying its urgent, and also an envoy of King Tinwulf II of Dahnia, who says that your senior needs your forces against a beastly threat from the east.

A) Personal envoys first! Let's hear what troubles the soldiers of Duaz mines!
B) Our benevolent senior is more important, so his envoy will get an audience first.

You let the messenger from Duaz mines first.

"My liege! I bring you the urgent report of Luathian army moving onto Duaz hills!"

"Have the civil war ended and we haven't heard of that for some reason?" The Advisor asks the troubling question but the messenger shakes his head.

"Nay, at least not completely. Banners of only three cities were spotted, and our garrison commander believes that nearest cities have decided to put aside their quarreling to recover their source of money. The commander asks for more soldiers!"

A) "And he shall get them! Peasant fodder will be sent to Duaz at once!"
B) "Alas, we can't spare a single man! Give my blessings to the commander instead."
C) "We will help the commander by invading Luthian alliance and removing the very source of the problem from existence!"

We haven't the resources to mount a full-scale invasion, but we can certainly hold our mines against the efforts of a few petty city-states.
