A report comes from the eastern borders; a group of twenty-six Eist raiders were captured, and amongst them there was a high-ranking Pantheonist priest! This implicates the King itself and his court behind this, as most of the Eist courtiers are also members of the clergy.

A) A-ha! A fine pretext for war! Rally the soldiers, we've got some fighting to do!
B) We shall release the clergyman and let him go with a letter of warning to Eist king.
C) They're only making fools of themselves - time to present this evidence to our good King Tinwulf.
D) How about we ransom the courtier and make demands to King of Eist?

Quite honestly if the eistians want to continue this...let them. We can ransoma ll their nobles and preists back to them for some extra cash. We only profit from this. If it grows more out of hand we can still call the king in on this.

We haven't the capacity to get involved in a war at the moment. Even if we did manage to convince Tinwulf to change his mind, we wouldn't be able to capitalise on the resulting war.
I'm torn between B and D; do we extend the olive branch or the receipt?
I'm going to say we have enough problems without making more enemies, and so should release the priest. Though I could be convinced to change my mind.

Wow o_o If it wasn't for my memory, I feel very much that this is like a case in Luathbas but we're on the receiving end (of their failure or our luck)

...Recalling that too, the Queen defended by making a good letter and having the North do fun stuff >_> (Same with past occurrences--letters of good diplomacy dissuaded the political meltdown of those implications).

But we're no Diplomatic King. And what 'warning' will anything do when we're a Duke? O_o (MOAR ASSASSINS )
Silliness aside, I don't know what "B" really does, even if it does feel more promising.
