Yikes. I do not like that army value. We should definitely do all we can to raise those numbers.
Continuing to rely on the king's soldiers, however, is not a long-term solution. We can always call on his help in an emergency.

We are only one army point away from losing the game. We cannot afford to take risks by using half measures. With peasants and criminals we can assume our army value will become 3 which I don't feel is a safe enough number.

Your scouts soon find an entrance into the mountain; it has been carved out by large tools that resemble shovels and pickaxes. The tunnel stretches downwards into the earth, but it is unlit, and your men are afraid to explore more than hundred feet deep.

I really like how simple the flavor makes to the imagination--imagine the seconds and minutes: You, an archer or man-at-arms (and I'll just be a female archer :V) walking down into a cave where you've lived through two battles of BIG TOUGH LIZARD BRAWN, and it gets progressively darker, and stinkier, as you go deeper, with the light of day or one's own accessories providing lesser light unless torches or other accoutrements are used.
And it takes quite some time to spelunk 100 feet down an inclined slope or through a rough hewn tunnel :3 The feelings are awesome!

Ohmygoodness and we even got a +1 to numbers back in the past battle. Wow we're good!

A bit late, but malachite and copper from the mines once again arrive at the Treasury, making the Treasurer a bit happier man.

Somehow playing as a Duke feels a lot better personally--you get to play in simpler politics but at a nice scale that it doesn't feel that detached or too huge for your thoughts.

First few months of the year are relatively peaceful except some grumbling amongst citizenry and minor nobles. From foreign news, Eist felt its first real defeat after few city-states banded together and forced it into pitched battle. Currently the spread of Pantheonism has been thwarted.

One day, when workers were digging up and replacing the floor int the basement of the Palace, their overseer reports they've found a treasure cache!

The chest contains many old coins from the first half of previous century, some gemstones and silver jewellery. The Treasurer already wants them in the Treasury.

C) No, these pretty things will be dispensed amongst local peasants.
