A thousand and half strong body of mercenaries, led by two small regiments of Luthian pikemen, is camping in the far east, about two days travel on foot from Luathbas. They have naught horsemen except few officers.

From south, there's silence, except sporadic mentions of Lametanian banner being spotted on this road or that village.

The officers convene with you about the matter of Luthian Army, and you decide...

A) Leave a third of your forces to continue the siege while you lead your men to crush the Luthians once again.
B) To continue camping; they have neither numbers nor strength to dare challenge us in open battle.
C) Have your horsemen raid their camp and send them fleeing!

...I think you're off by a factor of ten there.

Anyway, given the superior skill of our troops and their dashing commander, I think we can afford to go crush them, to really hammer home our victory. Though it will whittle down our forces... well, it's better than letting them gather strength.

I do to. I think we would likely win if we split our forces... but I just don't see why the risk is worth taking.

It's not a large contingent of troops and we could probably disperse it and cost them a thousand troops with minimal losses on our own side if all goes well, and have a better position with regards to Luathbas for the foreseeable future.

If it doesn't go well any number of things could happen, but if we slide into pessimism then neither can we afford to ignore this in case it's part of a larger buildup of forces.
