I feel like the dream is from the future, from the present.
The ravens can mean anything in threes--the King's 3 sons, with the eldest being
Atredh. Or the three Kingdoms, when one will fall, the rest will flock in. The riders may be the Khanate, or one united force of differing allegiances; all out of sight until the battle was resolved. They cannot be the Luthians. The Dahnian banner may pertain to its emblem versus its background, with the latter not matching--maybe a sign in the future.
Either way, we must be wary. The Prince's actions, while reasonable, may be a sign of future in-fighting due to their organization. The trio may also pertain to a schism between the other dukes and minor lords that we have no idea about--the ones 'less loyal' than us.
You wake up, sitting in middle of battlefield. In your hand is Ancient Terror, it's shaft comfortably warm in touch.
Then you see a fresh corpse of a warrior, draped in bloodied banner of Kingdom of Dahnia. But the color doesn't match...
Trio of ravens are hopping about at its corpse, but when one tries to dip its beak to get tasty bits, the other two work together to scare him off. This continues for a while and then you hear lots of neighing.
Horses, galloping in the distance, behind some hills that surround the battlefield. Then you hear their riders, shouting collectively one word in ecstatic manner, but you can't quite make the word out.
Then you see that one of the ravens have left the other two who continue bickering over the corpse. This lone raven is staring at you, and then you notice that it's carrying a golden crown in its beak-
...D could really work given our discipline.
CAlso I'm suspecting special secret wizard intervention, maybe.
To...be a catalyst to big civil war stuff or such.
Just like Parsia and their super secret wizard sorceress. I just wonder how they got defeated by Gubta!
