It's a hardy plant and requires very little maintenance.
It's always seemed pretty fragile to me, when I've seen people growing it.
Although this is in a rather bipolar climate, so the sudden shift from cold and windy to scorching, sunny heat probably doesn't help.

But wrist-thick compact buds, like most thouroughbred Dutch weed varieties...
Jesus Hemp Christ.
* Yoink boggles.

Also, here's an admirable-but-unrealistic stance on the subject, presented in the form of song by possibly the best non-metal band in the country: The Bennies.
Most of the time, though, here in Australia the cops don't really care about weed, even in Queensland where the relevant laws are rather backwards. At least, that's been my experience and that of others I've spoken to about it. Hell, a lot of cops smoke the stuff themselves when they aren't busy hassling the little guy and spreading violence in the name of the Government. Crazy, really.

I guess busting someone for a paltry weed offence is just a whole bunch of meaningless effort and paperwork when there are tonnes of meth dealers around to be caught, and unless the cop in question is especially evil (or has a grudge against whatever pothead they've caught with weed) they'd rather not bother with all the hassle.
Of course, pretty much anyone still gets paranoid as hell about being caught with the stuff after a few tokes anyway, haha. :))

Here in California we just recently legalized marijuana. We haven't burnt down or collapsed into the Pacific yet :P

Yes but the tempo of the piano playing hasn't yet hit "fevered pitch", after which point the burning etc starts.

I think Toady should make elves smoke cannabis. Since dwarves drink.

The cannibalism and such is just a serious case of fantasy munchies.

It's fitting with Tolkien actually. Not sure what was in Gandalf's pipe, but given what people saw after he smoked it, it sure weren't tobacco.

California made it legal, but all the poor people stuck on Federally funded college campuses are still in an awkward position. Besides, I'm not remotely willing to go buy unless I was back in Colorado at the clean, trustworthy places where I'm willing to buy edibles.

Even if I did have access to a place, I'm usually down for a good 36 hours if I have any, and I'm unable to budget 36 hours any time soon.

One huge reason to be pro legalization that almost no one mentions: Industrial Hemp.

Currently it is almost impossible to grow hemp in the US (despite the fact that it is so weak you would need to smoke truly industrial quantities to get high). Hemp has all kinds of uses, so loosening the laws would provide a nice flexible cash crop for farmers all over the US.

The state Bay12Games is located in it's also recreationally legal there.

That'd be bonkers to try and say cannabis turns you into a cannibal.
