OpenRCT: It works on win10

So ever since I've 'upgraded' to win10, while most of my games still work, I was saddened to have RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 lose functionality. I still have the old disk version, but can't get it to work anymore. It worked fine under win7. Reading remarks on the steam store, the steam version seems to have similar issues with not working on win10.

So I was pretty happy to discover that people have been working on a remake of the old game. They have decompiled it, and recompiled it using a more modern programming language.

You do require the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (and addons) installed to be able to play it, but it does seem to work pretty well. What's more, it's being developed very actively. 2 dev updates per day is not rare. They have an autopatcher which will install the new dev versions for you when released.

Yes, there's also been new features such as multiplayer and (correct me if I'm wrong, haven't played in a few months) a cut-away view similar to Z-level slices in DF.
Also windowed mode. Hallelujah.

E: Most important feature aside from windowed mode is the ability to change whether your park uses entrance fee or pay-per-ride.

I tried a multiplayer game about a month ago between my Win7 computer and a friend's Win10. Unfortunately, the Win10 client kept crashing every few minutes so it wasn't very playable.

I got rct classic for ipad just this week, no iap shit and the full first game+expansion, been playing ever since. But not diamond heights because screw diamond heights.

Figured I'd share this here while the topic is still fresh. Last time this game popped up I poked around and found a bunch of RCT1 scenarios ported over to RCT2. I haven't tried it myself but you should be able to play them in ORCT2.
