Shouldn't my spell(s) have changed my status at the bottom of the turn?

You are (were) right.  Guess that means I have to run a turn now!

I'm happy if everyone is in within 48 hours, though the sooner everyone is in the sooner I can start a turn.

TEAM EAST

Your bridge is under attack!  This cannot stand.

[Speed:4-1]

[Pot:4+2]

Damn.  He dodges away barely, but he's certainly pushed back.  You move forward to engage...

A quick charge lands you at the western point, in enemy control.  Speaking of enemies, Larry shows up just as you do.  You stare him down.

Spoiler: East (click to show/hide)

Let's try that again.

[Pot:6+2]

Dammit.  Another huge lance.  What about the horse?

[Pot:6+2]

The magic swirls together into a huge shape, which bursts into being.  Standing before you is a massive but exquisitely majestic warhorse.  It stands well above your head, draped in shining finery depicting an unknown coat of arms.  It is clad in fine steel armor, and kitted with the finest saddle and tack.  Truly, this is a horse fit for an world-conquering emperor.  Is it fit for you?  It'd certainly have no trouble if you wielded that monster lance.  You decide to go for it.

[Dex:5-1]

Ooof... huff... woof.  You can feel the horse rolling its eyes at you, but you manage to get up.  You brace the massive lance against yourself; it's clearly not troubling the horse any; you think it could carry three of you all in full plate and not break a sweat.  You trot toward the battlefield, heading south since you don't think a horse would like that broken bridge.

The small horse has no interest in following.

Spoiler: Note response (click to show/hide)

[Speed:4]

[Dex1+2]

Jefro punches you in the head a few times; good thing he hits like a four year old.  You retaliate by trying to smash the two of them together.

[Str:5]
[Dex:3+2]

You swing Johnny around with ease, but Jefro is quick enough to dodge back.

[Str:4]

Johnny wriggles in your grasp, but you hold him firm.

Spoiler: Eastern Lateness (click to show/hide)
Will try to get in sooner next time.

You pop back into the arena and head toward the south point, catching up with Greg on his... frankly ridiculously massive horse.

TEAM WEST

Spoiler: West (click to show/hide)

[Speed:4+1]

A few punches should help your teammate break that grapple.

[Dex:5+1]
[Str:2-1]

Your blows are accurate but feeble.  They're not enough to distract him from his grip.

[Dex:6+1]

He immediately retaliates by trying to hit you with Johnny, but you dodge backwards.

Then your "buddy" helpfully drops a spell in your lap.

[Dex:2+1]

You dodge out of the way, but not fast enough.  Something clear touches you and you are rebounded hard off it.  You go skidding backwards, dangerously close to the edge of the platform.  Thanks, pal!

Spoiler: West something (click to show/hide)

Now to just finish capturing this point...

[Dex:3+1]

You're barely able to jump backwards in time as a pyramid of lava appears right next to you!  It crashes to the ground and surrounds the point with cooling lava.  It'll be safe by next turn, but here comes the culprit...

Spoiler: West Puppymancy! (click to show/hide)

[Speed:2-1]

Poe's on the bridge before you can get your spell lined up.  You focus on the target...

[Pot:1+1]

An arm's length fizzy cloud that MIGHT be a booze-shaped puppy appears in front of you and splats forward a bit before diffusing into mist.  Well, that was a bad cast.

Spoiler: Western Wounded (click to show/hide)

[Speed:1]

You wish to hold Bastien for Jefro; that's easier said than done, since Bastien has the upper hand. You challenge his grip.

[Str:4-1-1]

Tricky with just one arm.  You go for magic.

[Pot:5+2]

Something almost immaterial forms about five feet in front of you.  Unfortunately, that's right about where Jefro is standing.  Oops?  He fails to dodge and is knocked backwards by it.

Whatever it is, it's still there.  Some sort of big crate or container?  It's really hard to see.

You charge southeast to defend your point.  Good thing, because Derm has arrived!  You stare him down.

Now that's a fine horse!

And a finer example of friendly fire?

Oh, not that much.  Nobody got maimed!
