This post did not go as intended and has been killed. I will wear its pelt to keep me warm in the winter months.

The kitchenette mold free, you move on to the pantry. it's nasty in there. The bacon is grazing on the lettuce. The ham is having an illicit affair with the prime rib, The potatoes see all, know all. A rat in boxer shorts smoking a foul smelling cigar is banging on a cabinet shouting about rent money.

How much damage should that have been, anyway?

Also I should probably have been using Death Stare instead of regular Block whenever it's available.

Probably, yes. It adds a nice little debuff to your blocking tactics. Nhin's graze would have dealt 9-13 damage to you.

Ah, an auspicious moment. Another of your number falls, but this time loss presents an opportunity. Can you turn despair into hope? Can you snatch victory from the jaws of defeat?

Either way, always remember that you're just turning death into still more death.

Accuracy Flesh Charges + Unspeakable Revelation? I didn't think it'd deal 40 damage, and it's reasonably likely I'd get thwacked in return.

15-22 * 2 * 1.5 = 45-66? Uh. Editing action. 15-22 * 2 = 30-44, so I could hit before it attacks but I probably want to make sure.

The massive forward swing of the Harvest Idol cuts nothing but grass, Miles to far off the right and Shorn just behind the swing arc. Shorn's blow, however, does not fall so short.

There is a moment, a brief, impossible flash, where Shorn is no longer Shorn. The writhing filigree on his armor is no longer filigree, but flesh and sinew. His oversized longsword is no longer swung by a clawed gauntlet, but by a writhing hand of barbed tendrils.

The slash cuts the effigy into two pieces and cuts the bottom half off both scythes. For a moment, the Harvest Idol shivers, the sacrificial remains that coat its body desperately trying to coagulate together enough to hold the abomination upright. Then the red light in its eyes flickers and dies.

The Idol collapses in a heap, the dark blood that had given it flesh splattering to the soil and sublimating back into ground as though it had never been. All that's left of the broken idol's body is a scarecrow figure- a collapsed pile of wood, rusted iron, and cracked leather.

So, at this point each of you would have a choice. You can a lot of essence (~50), or you can gain less essence (~20) and an item/ability/upgrade/Asset from the boss. (Yes, I'm ripping off boss items too)

Now, what do people think about boss battles and about the combat system overall?

My Personal List:
*Evasion is a little underpowered.
*Combat rounds seem to consist of sudden bursts of ultraviolence interspersed between large blocks of positioning and whiffs.
*I need to be quite careful with weapon damage.
*I'm not sure if I like or dislike the fact that Nhin functions like a siege tank.

Things I'm thinking about Adding:
Enemy AI Descriptor: Describes how the monster selects targets. I.e: Targets nearest, targets toughest, targets unit that did the most damage in the last X rounds, etc.
