Not everyone knows the referencial context you may have. Especially since there's so many ways to interpret things because people come from a lot of sources (and they can even be as right or more than you at times )

I agree it's likely one or the other, since France was taken in the post immediately prior, but I cannot tell, either.  Given the era, piratejoe could either be referencing Polish hussars riding down Turks at Vienna just decades prior or...well, Habsburgs riding down Turks at Vienna just decades prior.  That entirely leaves aside out-of-era references, too. ^_^

Yes its strange for the map to omit Hanover (should be in PU with Great Britain) and Prussia (should be "independent").

I can technically see why Hanover might not be in PU in January of 1714 (Queen Anne only dies in August 1714, at which point George of Hanover ascends; it's an awkward start date in that respect), but Ireland is particularly odd as it has been in personal union with the English crown since 1542, and ruled by English kings for even longer.

But then I won't be the smallest country anymore, so it's a bit of a mug's game if it's corrected.  Might be a bit late, too.

Ah.  Be careful not to confuse the Acts of Union with just any personal union.  Ireland has been ruled by England since the conquest of the island by the Normans, with the King of Ireland being also the King of England (a personal union).  The various Acts of Union simply unified multiple separate kingdoms into one unitary kingdom: the one in 1707 unified the Kingdom of Scotland and Kingdom of England into the Kingdom of Great Britain, and the Acts of 1800 and 1801 unified the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Ireland into the Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. (EDIT) Where this might get a bit confusing is that someone who's a King in Great Britain and a King in Ireland is going to be called "King of Great Britain and Ireland," which also eventually became the title for the unified Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland as well. Lexical ambiguity, huzzah.

Basically, think of it this way: if I attack Ireland or Hanover as George, King of Great Britain and Ireland, Elector of Hanover, who am I attacking?
