continue to hack, slash, and otherwise suppress the cuttlefish men while keeping track of the numbers on both sides.
(But why? Especially since one of us is a raider, legendary!)

"Wait long-ears, you mind if I tag along on your journey" I say in my natural unnerving lizard to snake-like voice

Try to see if I can tag along on the elf's trip to the southwest, if refused still go southwest anyways. If the elf gives no input, just purely stealthily follow/track him

"You have been most helpful. My thanks."

Head southwest, there are evil men that must be removed from this world.

You head southwest, into a grassy field over which brooding stormclouds hang. You muster up your courage before delving into the tall grass, katana at the ready. The wind whispering through the withered yellow grass sounds like the moans of a dying man. And yet... the moans are all too real.

You advance, when you hear a scream of anguish. You prepare to strike with your katana when a man stumbles through the tall grass towards you, making a plaintive gesture. You step back and keep your katana at the ready - he's covered in blood, and certainly not all of it is his. He holds his hands in the air and falls to his knees.

"Please..." he wheezes, prostrating himself, "help me get out of here... the curse... I'm losing my mind..."

You hesitantly help the man to his feet. He's clad in the garb of a traditional human soldier, and wields a bloodied longsword. You introduce yourself. You came here looking for combat, but this man is in dire need of aid... perhaps you could escort him out and come back when you know he's safe.

continue to hack, slash, and otherwise suppress the cuttlefish men while keeping track of the numbers on both sides.
(But why? Especially since one of us is a raider, legendary!)

Gah. I suppose it's fine, maybe I'm just being a big old bore.

You look around you. (17) You're able to get a good view of what's going on around you.

Spoiler: Axedwarf Guard (click to show/hide)

You growl, and charge into the ranks of the cuttlefish men. One of them pounds the ground with a half-broken halberd and charges at you!

(12 + 2 Executioner Dustan Hache vs. 7 + 2 Cuttlefishman Savage 2 attack priority)

You're able to strike first!

(8 + 2 + 2 Dustan vs. 2 + 2 + 2 Squiddles)

You lop off a good chunk of the beast's head, and it goes down! You turn to see a glob of filth flying at you!

(5 + 1 vs. 8 + 4)

The glob strikes your helmet, and bits of nastiness leak through the visor... you don't feel too good...

You have been poisoned. Ick.

(Various other boring rolls for the NPCs)

You watch as the other guards clash with the cuttlefish men, and another Cuttlefish man goes down.

Cuttlefishman Savage 2 and Cuttlefishman Poisoner 1 have fallen.

+19 EXP!
+9 black blood!

Try to see if I can tag along on the elf's trip to the southwest, if refused still go southwest anyways. If the elf gives no input, just purely stealthily follow/track him

You exit the tavern, but see no sign of the elf. You follow his tracks to a field of tall grass, but lose them beyond that. It seems like you're going to have to do this the hard way...

You delve into the tall grass, and instantly you feel something awry deep within you, as if you were sharing your body with something malignant and hostile.

You wander around, but find nothing of the elf. You do, however, find a discarded shield, covered in fresh blood...

Helot's Shield - (1-handed light shield, -1 block)

Whip out again, go for the legs. Bring him down.

You lash the savage once again, aiming for his legs in particular.

(14 + 4 vs. 11 + 3)

You sweep the creature's legs out from under it, and knock it out with the butt of your whip. In the heat of combat, however, you didn't realize that the unnerving feeling within you is growing stronger, and you feel less and less in control of your body with every second...

+32 EXP!

Take the useless of thing of a shield in my inventory, explore the area for any hostiles and/or tracks of that elf, with my spear and talisman dual wielding combo at the ready

Dwyn checked his ring, marking the time as he felt himself slip away. Curious. Hopefully he'd be able to retain enough of his mind to check again and time how his apparent condition progress. If time bothered to stay linear.

Drag my hostage back, outside of this place, back to where i can treat his wounds and get him ready for sale.

"Soldier, what happened to you?"

Try to get as much information out of the soldier as possible, while escorting him to relative safety. Keep my katana unsheathed and at the ready, just in case.

Cursing as he wipes the muck off the visor of his helm, he charges at the mage of the cuttlefish men and tries to slam them into the ground with a Guard Breaking swing.
(Brought my main sheet up to date. Adding HP next turn.)

You explore the immediate area, and find...

A bloodied corpse, with footprints leading away from it. You find no sign of the elf. However, you do hear a faint rustling to what you presume is your west...

Suddenly, someone or something bumps into you!

Instructions: Read the post below

Dwyn checked his ring, marking the time as he felt himself slip away. Curious. Hopefully he'd be able to retain enough of his mind to check again and time how his apparent condition progress. If time bothered to stay linear.

You start dragging your hostage to the east. Suddenly, while dragging the unconscious savage, you trip on a corpse and slam into... something scaly. You clumsily turn around to see a humanoid-lizard hybrid staring at you. It seems to have it's wits about it, which relieves you to a great extent.

"Soldier, what happened to you?"

Try to get as much information out of the soldier as possible, while escorting him to relative safety. Keep my katana unsheathed and at the ready, just in case.

"I... was ambushed..."

The man pauses to cough.

"Possessed... attacked me, stronger than normal... I barely made it..."

You help the man limp towards the exit, but have the feeling you're being watched...

Sure enough, a large tiger-like creature springs out of the brush in front of you, teeth bared! It makes no move to attack, and it seems to be analyzing your every move... (20) You suppose that if you want to do something and get the jump on this tiger, it'd better be now or never.

Ok, wonderful.

Glad to know you're updating your sheet, since I'm quite too terrible at memorizing stuff to keep track of all that EXP and blood stuffs for everyone else. *cough* Emphasis on "everyone else" *cough*

You utter another really loud battlecry and leap at the stupid cuttle-jerkface!

(2 + 2 + 2 = 6 Dustan vs. 1 + 3 = 4 Filthcaster)

Your swing goes far left, but the Filthcaster tries to parry, which proves to be a mistake, since your powerful blow crushes his pitiful face into a pulp.

(Various other rolls)

Combat rages around you, but none of your other enemies (or allies) fall.

+22 EXP!
+14 black blood!

You feel like puking...

"Ah, a fellow cannibal I see here around in the plains!, I believe it's a good idea if we stick together, the world just doesn't seem as fascinated and content with ideals of a true warrior nowadays." Saying this in the natural snake-like voice

Request to this new character if I can tag along with, if refused than go my own way and follow down these footsteps for the assailant. Oh yeah either way, make sure I scavenge off the unclaimed dead body for loot than devour it

(Yes GM, I will try in my earnest to update my main sheet from here on out)

doing his best not to vomit, he then turns his attentions to the captain of the cuttlefish-men. Switching to a more defensive stance, he would approach and as attempt to goad the captain into attacking him.
If he succeeded,he would try to parry the strike and riposte by bashing them with the pommel before bringing the blunt side of his halberd head down on the captain with the intent of knocking them out of combat quickly so they cannot rally their allies.

"I am no cannibal, the flesh of the intelligent is far too valuable to eat," Dwyn said still dragging the unconscious man behind him. "I'd pay for your aid if you'll help me get this meat back to market though, or perhaps you'd like to help me gather up a few more to sell..."

"If not for the savoring of the flesh what other purpose could such a victim be? But for your proposal, I will accept to help your "extraction of resources", I'd imagine that one victim could only be so valuable compared to an amount" While I'm speaking this I am scavenging off this dead body for any valuable trinkets
