Mayor keeps requesting items I can't make

First it was Make Zinc Items 3/3, then Zinc items 2/2, then again Zinc 3/3, even though I can't find any Sphalerite anywhere on the map.

Thankfully, my Fortress has more food than it could ever hope to consume, so I'm not too worried about the lost productivity, but...

*Shake head* A new version with all kinds of devious new ways to dispose of picky nobles and all you guys can think of is indoor plumping and magma? Come now, Perhaps he could go on a " Tour " of the " Mines " and walk on to an unstable tile, falling 15 stories into a pool of water filled with skeletal carp with FRICKIN LASER BEAMS strapped to their heads. Now that's thinking outside of the box, eh?

Oh Oh, I just thought of an even more ironic fate for our mayor friend. Replace the skeletal carp with a spike pit full of zinc spikes.

As amusing it would be, I don't HAVE any zinc, so that kinda defeats the purpose.

Also, I can't stop imagining a berserk dwarf axing a whole bunch of blacksmiths while screaming "YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL ZINC!".

Get some pylons from the caravan. Even if you kill the mayor they will elect a new one. Replace pylons with zinc.

Pfft, no.

What I did was set up a floor hatch and a lever, recruited him...

Have him stand on top of it after recruiting...

Pulled the lever...

And watched him fall 15 stories through lava were he fell unconscious, burning, until a magmaman killed him.
