"Creatures? Shouldn't we move somewhere else to set up the camp then? We don't want to be eaten during our sleep, do we? Hah hah hah!"

Immortality like that would be even more game breaking than four Aaron's in one place.
You're both so obviously scum that this is a surprisingly difficult decision.

((I... Should have paid more attention to this.))

(To Dwain)

"Oh, hello there! I'm glad to see you alive! Did you find anything interesting over there?"
"There is much of interest, but I have probably seen so little of it. Whilst observing some curious creatures, that are stalking around in the smaller tunnels, I have probably missed so much more.

"We're running low on food, so it would probably be best to learn more about those creatures in a culinary fashion."

Head up and pelt the Jellyfish things using my sling.

I was thinking about that.  Remember that 1) the group does have a big rock hydra carcass lying around, 2) you don't lose money by eating animal meat (as I reduce the value of the carcass by no more than your meal is worth), and 3) dead bodies do rot and lose value if you don't use them.  I presumed you'd eat rock hydra tonight.

So are you sure you want to antagonize the standing jellyfish?  (I mean, they might come after you anyway, but we were real close to a consensus a moment ago.)

Also, you didn't answer my question as to whether you want to go back to your regular inventory.

"I will stay awake to avoid any kind of ambush from these monsters and protect everyone during their sleep! No shadow can hide from the glorious light of justice and no beast can run from the burning judgement that is the incandescent sun!"
Try to dissuade Alyssa from pelting the creatures. Tohil decides to watch over the group to avoid being attacked during the night. If he notices anything moving during the night, he will wake up the rest of the exiles.

((Well in that case.))

"... Okay. I'll get to work on prepping our meal then."

Get a fire started using some of the coal, then prepare some food for us using the skillet and knife I have. Go back to my normal inventory while doing this.

From here, I can guess pretty simply what the actions for Dustan (Dustan Hache), John (ziizo), and Louis (dustywayfarer) all are.  That is: rest.  If no one contradicts me, I'll hurry along and advance the turn.

Reflect on how I could better improve my medical treatments, using knowledge of the various injuries, monsters, and materials I have encountered.

Previous -- Next

So!  Here we are.  Because you're, uh, just gonna sit there all evening, I get to unleash a little something I'd been waiting to use.

The group decides there has been enough excitement for one day and takes a long evening of it.  Apparently, the older exiles have been in the habit of resting and eating outside of "daylight hours," and so as "night" falls you start a fire and prepare a day's meals.

John's water keg still has plenty to spare.  Alyssa, having butchered one such animal already over in civilization, carves all available meat out of the rock hydra.  Hmm, this is a very lean sort of creature, mostly good for its hide and byproducts; you don't actually get enough food for the whole team.  You wonder, idly, if Gary's new hat represented a significant loss of organ meats . . .

Regardless, Dwain and Louis each have prepared foods to spare, and so they round out the rest of it.  Most of the team gathers around the sizzle of the skillet, and Bob's charming depiction of a hydra meal comes true.  Dwain takes his meal a little farther from the light and the noise.  Louis is just too exhausted to have strong opinions.

Tohil stays on guard duty; but, eventually, is convinced to let others take turns.  It comes to "night" soon enough, after all, and the natural time for a sun-worshipper to rest.  Realizing that Tohil traded away his original backpack of supplies, Alyssa notes that he's going to be uncomfortable overnight without a blanket.  The one and only spare blanket just happens to be in the backpack Alyssa is putting away, and so changes hands.

Tohil is rather overburdened, so he'll have to swap something out in order to keep the blanket tomorrow, but it's a wise idea.

And so you all rest.

Day 16, Morning

There has been time to accomplish much.  Actual accomplishments may vary.

In the east, Gary gives one last heave and pries loose a chunk of lovely orange whatever-it-is!  How nice.  You're sweating a bit under your exciting new skull cap, but this is such invigorating work!

In the midwest, Bob managed to remove a decently-sized piece of shale from the wall last evening, and has taken the rest of his waking time in carving.  Just about ready to finish with a flourish, you instead finish with a snap! and the "mug" splits in two.  You now have two vaguely-concave pieces of shale with irredeemable cracks.  Hmph.

And in the middle, John just wanted to nap in peace, so that's all set.  Dustan had been contemplating medicine, as per often.  It occurs to you that the lesson from the ant lion in Rock Bottom may be applicable here.  The Svarog alchemists you helped said that ant lion tallow was an essential ingredient in an antivenin; would, then, rock hydra tallow be essential in an antiparalytic?  You're no alchemist, but perhaps you can get good use of their services when you sell this carcass.

I hope you are now ready for thrilling new adventures beyond that of the nap.  You're healed and I've removed all penalties from character sheets.  And there is a 5 kg chunk of presumed-bindstone sitting over there.

I may have had more to say about specific things people were attempting, but this update is long enough.

Hmmm...  I'm near Bob, even if I have my back to the action, so perhaps when the anger boils up and he storms off I would tail along. I may not yet exactly know that he's off to attack Jellyfish (assuming it is Jellyfish), but it'd be useful if he has backup.

(Striding off through the middle of the camp, it's possible others would tag along, intervene or even talk Bob down, but that's what I'm doing. Until something else happens.)

"The night has fallen and morning has arrived! Praised be the magnificent Sol!"
Tohil does his morning prayers to the sun. Also leave the war hammer in the wheelbarrows so I can carry the blanket.

(Why is it that I keep laughing when I come to this thread?  I can only hope that you people are as amused by each other as I am.  Aside from the "getting people killed" part.)

But on the "serious" side, I believe I know what possible results to check here, so now I await everyone else's input.

Gary grabs the rock and moves it to a wheelbarrow (it near one if all are full). If there is a spare weapon in the barrow he grabs it, then heads North after Bob.

"calm down dummkopf, or I might try to harvest your organs while you are still alive."

go with them and make sure nobody gets killed unless it's by my hands. I did not need to deal with people from the insane asylum today.

"Let's go take care of those creatures that were up there last night."

Head north with the others, with the intent to kill the Jellyfish
