(Dustan: that's in-character grousing, right?  Out-of-character, of course, being on wheelbarrow duty means you can keep tabs on the loot.)

Then we'll just need John (ziizo) and Overseer (FallacyofUrist) to confirm if they have any agenda as you all head west.

Still waitin' on FallacyofUrist.

For the last two updates, I know that I skipped someone's turn because the results from each update were fairly necessary.  I'd rather not start showing impatience: leaving the area really should be unanimous, and I know that I will need patience myself when I get slammed with work.

But should I set up some sort of "moving right along" rule when it seems like there's a player-related delay?  I enjoy dungeon delving and hope to keep it at a reasonable clip.

Okay then!

Your numbers are reduced, but your greed clearly is not.  Frank and Lootington shoot down the westward passage like they're not in a perilous underground world intent on their dismemberment and consumption, and the rest of the exiles follow.  Down the passage.  Presumably not down something's gullet.

Day 5, Evening

As before, it's more a marathon than a sprint, and the competitors are forced to keep a more sane pace over the hours as afternoon turns to evening.  This crevasse in the shale is mostly straight, so when you spot a sudden sharp turn at the end you feel the time has come to race your exhausted selves to the finish!



Frank, victory is yours!  Assuming that your goal was to get yourself completely out of breath and risk peril while the rest of the exiles are some distance behind you.



Now with a certain time advantage, you resume a normal pace and get to exploring (and panting a bit).  There're some turns around here and a slope downward.  Taking a quick look before anyone else arrives, you spot more unfamiliar mineral deposits down the slope: teal patches on the walls and a couple loose rocks on the ground.  You could head down and collect these.


The next to arrive, Lootington, does not see what you've spotted at all.  He's distracted by what looks like a carving on the eastern side of this chamber.  He's too far away just yet, but it strikes Lootington as relevant to his interests somehow.  A carving of people or something?

Anyway, the others arrive in a little bit with the wheelbarrows.


So you've started a "tradition" of running for the next area . . . you realize that one of these days your marathons will plant your exhausted self in a faceful of jellyfish?  Or, you know, whatever I got.

I won't stop you.  I'll just rub my hands with glee.

Anyway, I'll add the most recent location to the "Known maps" in the first posts.

. . . Should I be changing the title of this thread when content updates, like some other forum games do?

While waiting . . . John (ziizo), you said you're going to investigate the carving.  (Sir Lootington (TankKit) is, too, but he's distractable.)  Care to revise your action to help with a GM's conundrum?

I'm supposed to tell you how this thing looks.  This thing is obviously "plot."  You're obviously going to want to talk to people about it.  But since it's carved in the wall, you're not bringing it with you for easy reference (without the risk of destroying the whole thing).

It is the curse of internet gaming that you get a permanent record of everything, even the most subjective things such as "appearance."  You could quote it back to strangers a mile away just because it's here online.

But a little creativity could solve several problems.  What if your character were inspired to take a copy of the image yourself?  I'd tell you what you copied, you could pass the in-game copy around to people, and it would all make sense.  The plot would advance via copy.

If only your character had been carrying something in your inventory this entire time that you could use to copy an image.
