A Thought, Sparked From Insanity, Which Demands Answers
« on: February 15, 2017, 10:24:18 pm »

In a fit of unexpected temporary insanity, I thought up a... concept, if you will.

I could have just asked "What is the deadliest entity in Dwarf Fortress?" But no... I just had to go deeper.

I want to know, what is the most absurdly lethal entity that could be created in Dwarf Fortress?

I'm talking beyond adamantium skin.
I'm talking beyond one-shoting a Demon Lord in a second.
I'm talking beyond anything... beyond... my imagination for FUN.

So I need your suggestions and ideas. Tell me what Armok's ultimate wet dream would be.

Maybe after the myth and magic release: A spell that incinerates entire civilizations.

What you described is essentially the extent of things without DFHack, except of course that it could also have an interaction, usable at will, that makes every single creature within its line of sight bleed mightily from every orifice, likely leading to death.

With DFHack? Just from what I've made, Numidium, I think, a walking dragon break who erases or accelerates all who come near and spams your announcements with world denials. Lord English comes close, being impossible to kill without a specific material and fires a projectile that causes instant death to anyone touched by it. Saiyans are probably next in line... a Super Saiyan Blue 4 Kaiokenx20 (what's the point of making a dragon ball mod without including ridiculous, over-the-top fanfiction) saiyan is completely untouchable by any creature that doesn't have ways to bypass Sparking's ki system.

Do your saiyans still burn everything to cinders with their sweat and tears when they power up?

Thankfully, ki isn't hot anymore, so no.

What would be the effect of making a colossus or FB out of slade?  A web-slinging shelled monster with no body parts that causes syndromes would be pretty awful.

Has anyone ever encountered the legendary undead giant sperm whale or something worse?

I got a thrall sperm whale, wasn't giant though. Not even my trained dragon could kill the thing, we lit it on fire so many times, but all that happened was fat burned...

In Lovecraft's stories, Cthulu is not an entity that can be killed.
It is not entity that could be locked away by mortal hands.
It is an insanty - inducing monster, and no mortal being in all of existance could ever hope go stand up to... It.
It is a monster that could decimate civilizations simply by breathing, and your only hope is that maybe, just make be, you're too insignificant for it to kill.
Locked away in a tomb at the bottom of the ocean...
... Waiting for some unconcievably stupid adventurer to wonder what's inside.
A forgotten beast to end ALL forgotten beasts.

Cthulu.

Though it was possible for some mortals to use a boat to give Cthulu a minor concussion and make it go back to sleep.

Hush. We forget about that. After all, he regenerated his injury.

An adventurer.  Someone made a thread detailing how they decapitated a bronze colossus with a fluffy wambler in one throw.
