"So, we just keep moving? Okay, although I am a bit worried about my sari getting dirty."
With that, Rajia daintily lifts her sari up just a bit to avoid any dirt, while continuing to press on.

"Why don't we have a map?"

The Traveler sighs. "For the Nth time... Because my ship is too damaged to scan the area for us."

No releases a curse of tracking onto the surface of the Box.

"Multiple safeguards equals additional security. Very good."

No smiles a little bit, then starts following the Traveler.

"Thanks!"

"So, we just keep moving? Okay, although I am a bit worried about my sari getting dirty."
With that, Rajia daintily lifts her sari up just a bit to avoid any dirt, while continuing to press on.

The Traveler cracks a smile. "If you want the adventuring life, you might have to get used to that."

The group walked down the trench for a few minutes, expecting not to take very long. However, as they walked along-single-file (or in Fune's case, flew), they noticed the trench branched backwards as points, and after about 2-3rds of the distance Titus had described, they found a set of footprints. They looked about human sized and shaped, with a simple heel and sole print, suggesting a plain shoe. The tracks didn't go for very long: it looked like aside from a length of six steps, they'd been covered over again by more dust.

Any notable thermal signatures visible?
It would not seem that any other than your compatriots are nearby.

"Well. What do you make of these?"

"It is hard to tell how recent these are. They could have been purposefully but ineffectually covered, or they could have been gradually dusted over."

Jaden looks at his own shoes intently.

"Interesting. Looks like we're not alone here."

No almost wishes his magic was more oriented towards divination and whatnot, as he makes additional essences.

The wind has been just as loud as since your arrival. Dust gradually trickles into the trench from above, though if the wind changed direction, going by the speed it would probably blow a whole lot of sand back out of the trenches. There don't seem to be any additional electromagnetic signatures nearby.

Espada informs you that they collected a sample from the Traveler during that high-five earlier and is currently analyzing it.

"Everyone stay on your toes. Though that probably goes without saying."

"...Isn't it a time-travelling ship?  Because, you know, being spread out all over spacetime like that, why not ask one of the future, repaired, iterations for a map?

Mm."

Avi keeps an eye out.  Seems she's a little spooked, judging by the subtle humming of magic around her.

"Because my ship's also too injured to go anywhere right now? Also, if you go back to help yourself, you often wind up helping a slightly parallel version instead. It's hella finicky."

*Choom*

"Aw crap, didn't have the gizmo ready."

"...Hrm.  I see.  So if you, hypothetically, wanted to transmit a map back to us right now, we'd actually be in a timeline that branched?  Or, well, not have a 100% chance of it actually working, anyway?  On top of the existing not-working."

"Don't count on it. I've been so fortunate exactly twice."

Appreciated. Data and genome is useful.

It's hard to notice at first, but in the direction the group is heading, there's a purple glow on the horizon, just barely visible over the ground above.
