"How about that!" Titus quick rolls forward, unsheathing his sword mid roll, and as he levels out he slashes out horizontally, sending out a plane of super-charged plasma screaming towards the machines.

System Diagnostic Ping of Unit Espada.

CRASH REPORT: Severe damage. Numerous mechanical and biological systems not responding. Rapidly losing consciousness. Attempting switch to automated maintenance routines. Immediate medical attention required.

"How about that!" Titus quick rolls forward, unsheathing his sword mid roll, and as he levels out he slashes out horizontally, sending out a plane of super-charged plasma screaming towards the machines.

Your attack takes upon the hue of the beams that struck you rather than the usual red plasma: it seems that your suit's arcane relay countermeasures have triggered, though you're not sure if it prevented all damage. The wave impacts with the enemy at the front of their little wedge formation and there is a SNAP! of intense shields discharging: after the fireworks clear you see the target's structure crumpled around a sizeable horizontal gash. The remaining two screech.

"ADAPT FIREPOWER! ADAPT SHIELDS!"

FRY!!!!!

You focus your intent upon the creatures, seeking to kill them as quickly as possible. You almost don't register the eye-stalk and weapon swivelling around to-

Something lifts you up forcefully and you find yourself moving towards nearby boulders. "Get into cover, you fool!"

...Actually...Could I send feedback down their weapons as they try to shoot?

Explosions!!!

...Also, I thought I had set up a contingency spell.  Trigger that?

Koi scoops up Espada and bolts to cover, before sitting down and exuding a small barbed tendril from his wrist and jabbing it into Espada's side.

Repair Systems: Route Unit Espada's local material reserves through Unit Koi's local nanofac. Prioritize Critical Systems Damage in Unit Espada. Secondary Priority, reboot Consciousness in Unit Espada.

Titus keeps up his momentum and sprints towards the last two, sending smaller waves of plasma at their upper-most stalks, making sure to try to stay out of their firing arcs.

Espada's autonomous systems register depleted reserves. But this contradicts previous reports. Material distribution systems must be offline. Among other things. Cells and nanites over a good portion of the body have probably been fried. You fear you may have to inject a portion of your own nanite complement and attempt manual reboot, though whether or not there is time at the moment represents a tactical decision.

The reptilian creature rolls into cover next to you, carrying Avi. "Still alive?"

Titus keeps up his momentum and sprints towards the last two, sending smaller waves of plasma at their upper-most stalks, making sure to try to stay out of their firing arcs.

Despite your being closer, one of the things takes time to fire several shots towards the rocks where your comrades have taken cover, creating a number of explosions and a large cloud of dust. "ABNORMAL ENERGIES DETECTED!"

Your honed tactical brain and your suit computer work split-second as you fight. They have very strong shields, it seems, but they are less concentrated around the top. They aren't overly slow but their design is clearly not the best suited for such close quarters: they'll have trouble hitting you if you can close the distance. Which is good, because their weapons seem quite powerful.

You keep slinging plasma at them in hopes of forcing them to keep their guards up and preventing counterattack. With your overcharge rapidly fading, their shields seem able to soak the smaller waves for the most part, but one in your burst comes through and strikes the eyestalk from the next nearest one. It starts screeching and turns its weapons away from your companions, but that overcharge helped with your speed as well: before it can fire, you thrust forth with your sword, fully enveloped in plasma. On impact, the enemy's shields discharge and it is repelled backwards. You notice a dent on the frontal plate of its chasis, between the two arms."MY SENSORS ARE IMPAIRED! COMPENSATING!"

The other one seems to take notice of your proximity and success. "ELEVATE!"

...Actually...Could I send feedback down their weapons as they try to shoot?

Explosions!!!

Their weapons just have too much energy for you to control. There's just too much "inertia" (for lack of a better word) towards the energy flowing down its intended path. You do trigger your spell, and can feel your energy flowing into them at a steady rate: they seem to detect this and start doing something to pump energy away from their living cores, but you can feel they're only slowing it down. However, somehow they also seem to guess the culprit: those damn loud beams start hammering your cover, and it doesn't seem like the rock you're behind will last very long.

"Correct. Unit Espada requires immediate medical attention. Insufficient material reserves for guaranteed success at repairs at current time."

Manual reboot via utilizing local nanos for now. Can siphon spare materials from Espada to replace losses once repair cycle is underway.

Titus dashes over to the unshielded machine and begins to break or cut off it's stalks and then tosses what he managed to scrap towards Koi. "You think you could use this?" He uses it's body as cover from the other.

"Yes." Scan the scrap for notable replicator threats and if there aren't any, break em down for parts.

Resalth waves a hand over the unconscious Esapda and a gentle orange light passes over them. You detect a number of Espada's internal pathways reconnect and some of their essential self-repair infrastructure comes back online. Not as much as to initiate recovery, but certainly enough to prevent further deterioration and make your job easier. "Only a cantrip, but they should be stable now."

You sensors detect nanite signatures emerging from the enemy unit that Titus destroyed. They appear to be the same type as previously encountered.

Titus dashes over to the unshielded machine and begins to break or cut off it's stalks and then tosses what he managed to scrap towards Koi. "You think you could use this?" He uses it's body as cover from the other.
It tries to follow its fellow up into the air, but you're too near and too quick. You plunge your sword into the dented spot and your strike drives home. With a distorted screech, the thing stops moving. However, the machinery and plating is evidently fairly dense, and so it'll take a bit of effort to yank the sword back out. In the meantime, you toss Koi the severed eyestalk, though the other enemy is still spamming fire upon your friends' cover. Judging by the dust said cover is being shredded.

"Yes." Scan the scrap for notable replicator threats and if there aren't any, break em down for parts.
What looked like metal seems to be an unknown bonded-polycarbide, evidently an engineered pseudo-metal. Likely very useful for structural and armoring purposes, but not so much for repairing internal delicates. However, the material of the internal electronics, looking at the severed end, seems like pretty much exactly what you'd want.

Which would be all well and good except for the nanites emerging from the interior of the severed part.

"Local Units. Previously detected Replicator Threat Source Identified: Hostile Mechanized Units Currently Engaged. Hostile Nanoswarm active in AO. Local Unit No and Local Unit Resalth. Purge Replicator Threat from AO. Likely will inhibit Hostile Mechanized Units as well as render Debris safe for salvage."

Continue directed repair work. Get internal repair systems online and functional.

"I can remove infections, but cleansing the area would take some more doing." He does some complicated hand gestures, and a bolt of lightning shoots from his fingertips and rebounds 130 degrees off the rock pillar.

You continue treating Espada, but your current cover seems on the verge of giving way and pelting you with shrapnel.

INFORMATION: YOU WILL BE KILLED OR YOU WILL BE REFORMATTED. NO OTHER OUTCOMES ARE AVAILABLE

"Focus on me dammit!" Titus picks up the downed machine and throws it at the flying one.

The enemy blasts the remains of its fallen compatriot out of the air and then continues shredding away your allies' cover.

You hear a familiar high-pitched whine of a charging weapon, and an energy ball flies out of the dust cloud. It strikes the enemy and repels it backwards a good few meters, though it seems to have rebounded off the thing's shields rather than done any real damage. A couple of the flying tank's shots go wild as it is shoved.

"Did that get it?"
