"Welp"Jaden comes around the corner, but at the sight he immediately blanches and hides behind the nearest person. Resalth advances cautiously and pokes as one of the bodies with a clawed foot.
"No apparent deterioration. Which might speak to the durability of their gear, but no dust has settled upon them. I fear these are quite recent."Scan errything, if possie, attempt to identify damage patterns and types/materials present in debris.
The suits on the dead soldiers appear to be rather well insulated, befuddling simple EM scans beyond the surface layer, but spectral scans of their gear show relatively advanced synthetic materials: primarily thick fabric and reinforcing/armor plates, both of polymer. As Resalth said, they do not show any of the signs of deterioration that might be expected for dead bodies in a habitable atmosphere. Or, in fact, any apparent signs damage at all. At least, until you spot on each body a small circular scorch mark, either on the torso or the back. Most of them still hold their weapons, the rest having them lie in the dirt besides them: you see a few conventional firearms, but mostly some rather strange-looking two-pronged rifles of unknown function.
The crab-thing seems to be a synthetic organism: composed mostly of organic tissue and carapace, but with very apparent metal components and machinery woven seamlessly into its form. In particular, the large blades on the ends of its three legs and what looks like a cannon slung under its thorax. You can spot no scorch mark upon it from where you stand, but the legs seem to have actually detached at the base.
You also note relatively high amounts of ionized particles in the air: some fairly potent energy weapons were discharged here within the last hour. There also seem to be a handful of ejected bullet casings on the ground near the soldiers with ballistics, but no discarded magazines, suggesting that the fight was over before they had to reload.
