"Hm."

No attempts to determine if the glow is magical in nature.

It does not seem to be, but the strands of Distress in the aether seem to be drifting very slowly from that direction.

"Technically a figment of our imaginations, though. Well, an artefact of our visual perception. It's what you get when you have little bits of red and blue smooshed together so closely you can't spot the boundaries. As to what's making the purple, we'll probably see when we get closer."

It took them only a short while to walk the remaining distance. Indeed, as they neared the end, the trench widened out and they could see an open flat area ahead. Upon emerging, the Traveler whistled. "Wow. Amazing the way that hides from sight until you're right on top of it."

They could now see that they were on a wide shelf of rock at the top of an enormous cliff. The drop stretched away on either side of them, curving away far off in the distance. On the horizon, it looped back together, forming the walls of a huge circular valley, miles across. Lining its dusty bottom were dense clusters of dark buildings, forming what looked like a sprawling city. It was difficult to make out details from this distance, except for what stood in the center. A colossal structure, immense in height but also width, like a demi-mountain. It seemed to be mostly rectangular in shape, comprised mainly of huge tube-like structures progressing upwards and winding at right angles. And perhaps most apparently, it seemed to be in ruins: great holes and tears ran down its sides, and its top looked like it had been staved in. And from the breaches shone great, brilliant shafts of purple light.

The Traveler grimaces and reaches into his duffel bag. He pulls out what seems to be an oversized microphone, made of cheap, colorful plastic. On the side is a label that reads "Fisher-Price"

"Hmm. This appears to be a crater. Or a caldera."

"Why do you have a toy microphone?"

Rajita glances at the microphone, confused.
"What is that thing? What is it meant to do? What is that paper thing attached to it? I can't read what it says!"

"Why do you have a toy microphone?"

"Well I made it from one. I had to work with available materials." He taps the side several times and sticks it in his jacket pocket.

Rajita glances at the microphone, confused.
"What is that thing? What is it meant to do? What is that paper thing attached to it? I can't read what it says!"

"It's a device for recording and studying sound. The tag on the side is, erm, the insignia of the craftsman."

Jaden is looking rather concerned at the city below and the great glowing ruin in the center. "Uh... wh-wh-what is that...."

"The recorder's chassis is a Twenty First Century children's toy. The name written on it is the corporate logo of the corporation that produced and manufactured the chassis." Espada would note a flicker of displeasure/aggravation as Koi states the word 'corporation.' An image of a sterile white corridor filled with bodies in various states of disrepair flickers across the link before being cut off jarringly.
