[Doubloon-Seven]

You might have been a normal citizen of the Isles. You may have had a history of crime. You may have even been in the Navy. But one thing's certain; All of you have gotten a strange epiphany of being a Pirate. The Isles have had a long history of maritime activity, from the Pirate-Lords of old, to the mighty Navy. While many Pirates are, indeed, scum, several are shining examples of honor and Robin Hood-esque behavior. This... may or may not be what you're in it for. However, the Navy is, by and large, almost entirely corrupt, an undoubtedly cruel to the Islanders. Now, for one reason or another, you all meet in a tavern, drawn by rumors of cheap ships and goods. You sit at a large table in the corner of the Pike & Cod tavern, all suspecting the same thing- 'Hmm. These people might make a good crew!'.

Name: Bootstrap Bill

Gender: He's got a set o' dangly bits, n' he's proud o' it!

Description: Bootstrap Bill's not the sharpest knife in the drawer by any means, but his heart's in the right place. He's very short and fat, but ripples with muscle beneath it. Bootstrap Bill is almost completely bald, having only a bit of hair on the back of his head, and is missing several teeth. His face could easily be compared to a bulldog's. He's clothed in filthy rags, but wears a pair of fine leather boots that wouldn't look out of place on a Naval officer.

Reason for Piracy: Boostrap Bill has always enjoyed breaking things and making explosions, and while fine society tends to frown on that, most Pirates really appreciate that like no one else can.

Background: Bootstrap Bill never had a father, and was raised by his mother, who only ever dropped him on his head once. When he got old enough he left, joining the first Pirate crew he encountered. He knows his mother is probably worried sick about him, and he'd love to write home to her, but he's illiterate and he knows if he ever went home, she wouldn't let him leave.

Gender: Male

Description: Young man, tanned, dirty brown hair, shorter than average height, not particularly blessed with fine looks. Athletic build, though.

Reason for Piracy: Gold and/or Revenge

Background: He joined the navy as soon as he was able, longing to see the places he had heard passing sailors talk about from his father's shop. Unfortunately, the first mate on the ship to which he was assigned took an immediate dislike to him, and took every opportunity to make Oscar's already hard life as a swabbie on the ship even tougher. Despite this, he quietly enjoyed life on the sea. He vowed to learn what he could, and get out of the navy as quickly as possible, to be free to visit these places on his own. Maybe he'd start a business, like his father...

He worked hard, avoiding the first mate as far as possible on a ship in the ocean. Eventually Oscar became a trusted navigator, being taught the things a proper officer needed in order to excel. Social mores, self-defense, and how to read and write.

While the navy frowned upon fraternising among the ranks, Oscar became close with the captain while working with him during his time on the vessel.

This friendship came to an end one fateful eve, when the first mate lead a mutiny and murdered the captain at the behest of a local pirate, Ramirez. Oscar was able to escape in a lifeboat with a sorry few members of the crew. Not that it mattered; thirst and hunger soon got the better of the other crewmen, leaving Oscar as the sole survivor. He swore vengeance upon the backstabbing first mate and the pirate Ramirez, even if he had to resort to piracy to get it!

Description: A very effete, aristocratic looking man, looks more accustomed to soirees and meetings than sailing, with only his calloused, dirty hands giving away his rough background.
Reason for Piracy: Money, as well as a way to strike back at civilised society.
Background: Son of an up and coming trader who dreamed of breaking into the true upper class, Reggie was groomed for mingling with socialites and noblemen. His father's fortunes eventually took a downturn, ending with dear old dad taking the easy way out, with a short drop and a sudden stop in the family attic. Living on the streets since adolescence, Reginald survived. And he would continue to survive until he was dead or everything else was.

Description: a rather young adult of a man, who has a quite hazel-like complexion to his skin, only facial hair he contains is a sharp chin strap across his face, he maintains a rather short style of hair of only being a quarter inch thick. His body style is while above average slightly in height has little thickness to him.

Reason for Piracy: Current Situation and naturally desire for the acclamation of wealth.

Background: He has little collection of his early childhood and where he was born from, all that he collected was that he was probably from a distant place from here. He lived most of his youth and adolescence as a servant to a traveling merchant until he eventually had the nerve to escape from his master. He after successfully but narrowly escaping his ways of servitude he was eventually became a person who just lived in the slums and ghettos of the cities. He through gradually and deceptive skills he learned through his experience with merchants and con artists has finally allowed him to make incremental profits to become a poor pawner in the marketplace. He has an innate sense of greed and has learned that he could become quite wealthy through maritime trade....

Description:A giant of a man in a long officer's coat, a tricorn hat, and a scraggly dark beard streaked with gray. One eye peers forth, the other long since replaced by a patch. He wobbles on a peg leg as a parrot sits on his shoulder, barking naval commands.

Reason for Piracy:Pillagin' an' Plunderin'! Captain Sharkmeal makes no apologizes for his villainy. He is what is, and any stinkin' landlubbers who want t' argue that can walk th' plank!   

Background:Far back as anyone can remember, Sharkmeal has been a pirate. Aye, seems he was made for the black flag, and the sea for him. Sharkmeal's not his true name of course, no, that he got from the time a rather ornery fish took his leg. Many fortunes have come and gone in his time, and he's long got accustomed to friendships, romances, and rivalries ending with a flash of steel or the crack of a gun. Sharkmeal's fallen on some bad fortunes of late, and he's stoppin' by his old haunt in the Pike & Cod lookin' for some new meat to crew a new ship.

Name: Captain Long John Silver, he wishes to one day become an Admiral, n' he'll shanghai any fool that gets in his way!

Gender: He has a set o' dangly bits n' he's very proud o' it!

Description: He is a very tall, brawny, and imposing man. He wears a ridiculously fluffy tricorne hat and a patched-together, poorly sown rag coat with polished brass buttons that might've been an Admiral's coat at one point in its past. He has an eyepatch, a peg leg, a hook for a hand, and many nasty scars he claims were the work of the Naval scum and that one damned saltwater carp in the Shattered Isles.

He is missing most, if not all of his teeth, and instead has a mouth full of wooden teeth, animal teeth, and a few silver and gold capped teeth. He insists that his dental hygiene is impeccable, but the constant stream of miasma emanating from his mouth tells otherwise. He has an extremely long, and greasy unkempt beard, and he gets his name from the fact that it's colored silver.

He has a broken compass that he claims was blessed by a Saint to always point to peace and contentment, he makes a point of traveling the opposite direction whenever possible. He has an unquenchable thirst for gold and silver, and deeply enjoys killing people and stripping their corpses of anything remotely valuable. He also enjoys sailing the seven seas, drinking, fine wine, if possible, and defeating the Navy in any way at all, however petty.

Reason for Piracy: Captain Long John Silver was once a humble lazy bum, and one day, he decided to become the richest man in the world. It turns out, he was a terrible gambler and after he didn't pay back eight too many loans, he was press ganged into service on a Naval ship! A few years, (and appendages) later, he decided he'd be better off making a fortune as a Pirate instead.

Background: Long John Silver led a good amount of the ship's crew in a mutiny, and took control of the ship, christening it Long John Silver's Ship and became Captain. He was ship Captain for a few years (and was a pretty mediocre Pirate overall to be honest,) when the Navy attacked, destroyed his ship, and killed his crew. Luckily, he managed to escape on a bit of driftwood and ended up in the Island where a group of Pirates just so happened to be looking for a crew. He insists that everyone refer to him as Captain Long John Silver,  because once a Captain, always a Captain.

Looking around, the Pike & Cod is indeed an old tavern. The floors are scuffed, and the tables are often chipped, but that doesn't defeat the sense of camaraderie that seems to exist here. A large fireplace, embedded into the right wall gives off a warm glow, even reaching to your table in the lower-left corner of the place. Seemingly a slow day, only a few tables are occupied. In one, a man sits, drinking alone. On another, two merchants attempt to haggle with one another over something. The only ones here other than those previously mentioned and yourselves, are the bartender and a server, both looking awfully bored. Behind the counter, barrels and bottles are lined up on a shelf, and a door leads further back. Through the walls, the sounds of seagulls and dockworkers reach your ears.
