What suprises me more was that the child had crafting skill already, which it needs to trigger a mood.

You don't need any particular skill to trigger moods. I have had dwarves of all types get moods, totally unskilled peasants, pure growers, etc. And fey moods, withdrawn moods, posessions. Haven't had a fell mood in a long time cause I keep my dwarves happy, well for the most part.

I just had a child take over a craftsdwarf workshop (had it happen before), and apparently he wanted metal bars. I had just started doing the prep work for setting up magma forges by making steel bars for it, not having wanted to waste wood or coal on a regular smelter beyond that. So, no metal bars.
He goes berserk and attacks a craftsdwarf (who smacks him a bit before running off), and is surrounded by dogs. Then I get this message:
"Iden Limulsavot, Child has entered a martial trance!"

I really did laugh out loud at that one. :-)
Of course the dogs proceeded to rip chunks out of the little blighter and he went down quickly.

Tomas asked Dolgan, "What place is this?"
The dwarf puffed on his pipe. "It is a glory hole, laddie. When my people mined this area, we fashioned many such areas."

In the currently running succesion game i had a dwarf create an artifact bracelet. Dwarf runs outside immediatly to celebrate or something but before he walks 3 steps from the entrace his head is ripped off by a jaguar.

So far for the myth that artifact creators always win fights.

Hehe what about the time I discovered a magma river in a cave. In adventure mode. And I went there with six different adventurers and got together to fight the fire imps. I kept falling in the magma with most of them because I would charge an enemy and land on a magma square. So I learn my lesson and turn it off and then I dodge onto a magma square. So finally I just make a good adventurer and bring along a dozen or so people and watch the slaughter of fire begin... So much loot so little time.

My best adventurer was when i got him to legendary in a couple of skills that i cant quite remember an i couldnt find any of the decent quests involving dragons and others, so i decided to go and slaughter human towns. After i got about half way on the fifth town i started walking towards the shop to steal everything then all of a sudden my man gets shot in the back by a guard that i didnt notice (what a coward :)) and so i try my best to get into the shop an he gets hit again by this time he is on the floor crawling, just as i get one tile away from the door he gets shot and killed. That was my best moment.

Fighting a giant in an old abandoned fortress. A ratman somehow wrestles my backpack from me just as the giant breaks my sword arm. I throw my shield at the giant, knocking him into the chasm. So there i was, unarmed and with a pissed of ratman standing next to me. I grab the first item i could find and attack the ratman with it. The following hilarious line ensued:

You bash the ratman in the lower body with your rock nut.
It is mangled.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Fortress mode, a no traps/no doomsday magma vent challenge fort. A HUGE group of goblins just invaded. the gatehouse is quickly overrun and the dwarves retreat behind the river. Just as the last civilian enters the airlock the goblins arrive. a few bolts hit the solid granite doors of the airlock without causing harm. Suddenly 1 recruit charges forward, into the bridge system. As soon as the doors open and the recruit run out of it, all 8 goblin bowmen start firing. The dwarf runs accross both 10x3 bridges through a barrage of arrowfire into the goblin formation. Trying to save him, i raised the bridge on my side of the river, only to see it go up 1 square behind him. The brave recruit kills 6 bowmen, knocks one into a waterfall and maims the last one with one of his own arrows when a massive group of melee goblins arrive. the soldier fought valiantly, defending the bridge and kiling about 10 more goblins while being contignuealy pushed back. At long last the dwarf is standing on the final tile of the bridge and the spearlord goblin king arrives and stabs our hero once, mangling his chest and impaling his heart. The warriors final act before going uncountious is to strike one more time with his sword; decapitating the one who defeated him. This send all the goblins routing. The bridge is lowered, the dwarves come out and carry their savior to the makeshift hospital, where he later died of bloodloss.

He gained 5 armor user levels, 5 shield user levels, 3 swordsdwarf levels and 2 wrestling levels during the fight.

The priceless part:
He ran ~30 squares of consant attack by 8 bowmen without a scratch.

The hilarious part:
His corpse was lost when the hauler designated to bring him to his tomb trantumed and tossed it in the river.

The scary part:
Just as the hauler destroyed the remains smoke clouds appeared at the site of his last battle for no apparent reason.

This reminds me of a ratman attack I just endured rather early in my latest game.  I had the extreme good fortune of my weaponsmith getting a mood and he made an artifact mace.  Later that year, I get scores of ratmen pouring from the chasm.  Stone fall traps break the majority of their skulls and my early game, all-pro wrestler soldiers struggle valiantly with the rest.  Things quiet down, and corpses are being carried away, wrestlers nurse their bruises, when another group appears from a distant mineshaft and only one soldier is present!  I do my best to send reinforcements but he is on his own quite awhile at 6 to his 1.  I look around the halls, my two miners are incredible fighters but so far away ... The Weaponsmith!  He is near, and Unbelievably Agile, I draft and station him into the ratmen.  The wrestler has slain two, he has a yellow wound or two and lost an eye, nearly overcome the Weaponsmith is on the scene and with no combat skills wields his artifact iron mace to send the remaing three ratmen hurling well over 20 tiles in three seperate directions!  It was a sight.  Kulet was his name, he is now a dabbling Maceman and I nicknamed him "Ratsmasher"

Nope, was playing on . the entire time because i had to micro my retreat, the farms, a trantuming noble in the dining room and a burning mitten at the rear of my fort.

Even if i did, 99% of what you would see was off topic.

Crime scene: My main entrace.
Victim: A troll.
Suspects: 1 Weapon trap, 4 obsidian shortswords and a kitten.

Apparently a lone troll decided to siege me without goblin support. He gets into my weapon trap, painds the surrounding area red and passes out. A kitten charges at the uncountious troll and starts gnawing. Half an hour later, the troll dies and the kitten gets the name "Nutbins".

What realy happened: the troll got all 4 of his limbs completely severed by the trap. Nutty attacked the vulnerable beast and manege to tear out it's eyes, damage the brains, the stomach and the spleen over the course of a month game time. Nutty maneged to keep up long enough to bleed the troll to death.

Nutty later died defending the doomsday device from a kobold thief. I'll see if i can dig up a screeny of his kitten shaped tomb. Too bad all engravings are about gorillas  :(

Not the best here but still kind of amusing.
Over the history of my latest fortress, I've had some rather bad strange moods. At least half possessions. The overwhelming majority of successful fey/secretive being craftsdwarves.
One particularly bad string had no less than four possessions in a row in the span of a few months. One I believe was a crossbow, two failed... but lo and behold, the last one succeeded. His creation's dwarven name?
Dum Luk.
