The Arena sounds awesome and I have a character that'd totally fit for it.  I'd say though instead of it being dedicated to Crom, Bori would be a better fit.  He's all about the drunken glory of fighting.

Have an altar standing at the head of the arena dedicated to the in-game god for whom the current champion stands for.

Truncheons are weak. At least, the first-tier one. Haven't hit level 30 for the iron truncheon yet. Tried the blunt javelin. In melee it does far more health damage than stun, but is still too weak. Throwing it didn't seem to do anything. Seems like the first Strength perk, which boosts truncheon damage, is essentially required for grabbing thralls. I've been putting everything into vitality and encumberance.

I can tell you I almost went through an entire tier-1 truncheon without that perk trying to take a Carpenter III.

Iron Truncheon is a boost, strength perk is a huge boost, and the blunt weapon fitting mod you can add is a ridiculous boost (but needs steel). Honestly once I got the strength perk it became doable.

only between opposed factions, i do not believe thralls of the same faction can aggro one another.

as in, clan A can train a cimmerian thrall and clan B can train a cimmerian thrall, and you can place them on opposite ends of the arena within sight range, and there's a high chance they might aggro.
also, fighters can bring thrall bodyguards into the arena and they'll aggro the enemy team. so 2 players with 2 npcs can cause a great 4v4 match. just no archers, cuz they may aggro the crowd.

When I discovered that your character will grab onto ceilings and climb I've been debating on making a obstacle course.  I have to say how awesome the climbing system in the game is.  It's not revolutionary but the fact it's in the game at all is just great.  Such a small thing but adds so much.

Just wish placed hazards were more... hazardous.

I'm not on the server anymore, apparently one of the people I was actively cooperating with (the only people that knew where my base was) came in and stole everything I made since starting on the server, so I'm done there.

I was having a lot of fun playing with the people here, too. Recommend that you find somewhere else to cooperate with others to build a rad arena and RP. It's a PvP server, so no hate from me, just not the place for playing together with people.

It's a non-passworded, publicly listed PvP server.  You are going to get griefers.

It probably wasn't anyone you interacted with.  Could have been anyone who was on when you kept saying where you built, or someone just stumbled on your place.  I've been building my stuff from day one to be secure, and someone still messed with me.  You can only trust the public on the internet so far.

There are thieves on the server, which is cool in my opinion.

A clan-mate woke up and was naked and his boxes were empty. We wondered if someone followed him through his door. Then he checked and rememberd his roof had a gaping hole in it!

I ran around and in a short time discovered a player house with valuable thralls outside, a opening in someone's roof that allowed access to 10 boxes (which I left alone), and another player sleeping outside.

I like the no password PvP server. You need to be careful. For the observers in this thread, things are generally peaceful and I have not seen any random griefing. I have seen the occasional minor thuggery or honor combat, and there is theft. Just like in real life. ;-)

The most recent.  Over 2/3 of the way to being tall enough to just walk over to Chaosmouth.  I've also created a tavern, The Hermits Breath, that is now open to the public in the middle of the tower.  Enter from either of the Elevators that stand alone with a brazier next them.  Provides shelter and booze.  Have a good supply of mead, ale and wine.  Be sure to stop on by on your way north.  In fact if you are heading north why not use the bridge I made on the other side of Chaosmouth.  If heading back from the north just head straight south from New Asgarth.

Need to get around to fixing the walls that face the wrong way.

This is a picture of our second settlement, which we call either “Iron Town” or “Second Town” or sometimes “The Riddle of Steel” (since this is where we figured out how to make steel). It houses the 10 people in the clan. Its along a main road, so we kept the road open. I run a public tavern that offers free food to whomever comes by. We have most temples, and inside of the secure craft hall are most crafting stations. It grew organically over about one week. We started the settlement where we first found Iron Stone. Its where we learned about connected foundations and guard thralls.

I did some exploring today. Lots of neat places to see. One notable area was the Cave of Hanuman, featuring a big gorilla statue surrounded by crystals and ghost worshipers. Found a bit of lore, but nothing more.

Later I was exploring the jungle city, and quite by accident found myself inside the Palace of the Witch Queen. I was exploring anyway, so I decided to venture in just a bit and see what was inside.

Then I saw some statues. I thought I saw one of them move. I went up and gave it a quick poke with my spear. Suddenly, the door behind me slammed shut, and I found myself half a continent away from my bed trapped with a witch queen and her two little friends. Yikes. Honestly, the fight was not all that bad...several elements moving at once, all of them hitting hard, but also all hitting very slowly and easy to dodge; the worst part of the fight was my trembling sweaty hands. Also I worked up a thirst but didn't have drinks on my hotbar, so that was a frantic moment of digging through my inventory and hoping I didn't die before I found my berry juice. But I prevailed, and gained some recipes that I won't be able to use for another 15 levels.

Didn't realize that we had a bay12 server going for this.  Maybe change the thread title to it?  Either way entering into my second week on a public pve-(full pvp on weekends) server and having an absolute blast with the game.  Hit level 60 a few days ago and have managed to craft all the top tier armor+weapons so now I am just building stuff for looks on the server I play on while blowing up my enemies on the weekend.  If any of you are looking for a server with building destruction on weekend hours for NA lemme know cause I'll always take more thralls.  I mean clanmates... yes clanmates...  I'll probably check out your server as well though just to walk around and see what pretty stuff you've made so far.
