I like the tvtropes wiki, but I'm not sure Dwarf Fortress really fits.

Dwarf Fortress isn't on TV, and doesn't fall into any TV Tropes.   Why should we 'spread' DF where it doesn't belong?

Although I have that sinking feeling that DF will hardly ever make it to TV as a movie/series.

TV Tropes is also about games. Look at the entry for the Metal Gear series, for example, it's one of the biggest pages on the site.

Having said that, I can't see DF having that many tropes worthy of mention, what with it being all procedurally generated and that.

A trope is a recurring narrative device used by bad writers.

This is stupid.  One of the best things about DF is that it's so unlike other games

Agreed. DF has no writing (other than hardcoded events, such as the elves arriving and complaining about your dislike of sleeping on a hard, stone floor) and therefore no bad writing. It doesn't even have any of the "you killed my father, prepare to die" type stuff, as dwarves just tend to take revenge on whoever's closest. Lazy buggers...

Everything, no matter how unique, falls into tropes. And it's not just writing techniques. I can think of several Dwarf Fortress has:

This refers to the plot of the stories, and we don't have plots in DF especially not ones such as these.

It is not that kind of traps. DF has death traps that actually are deadly which is not the point of that page. It is more like when main villain straps Bond to the operational table and leaves laser cannon on to cut him.
To qualify as a "death trap" trap must be slow and must not bring actual death, where is the fun in that?

And flooding a Noble's room doesn't count why exactly? Plenty of DF deathtraps mess up the first time around (generally bringing much more or much less death than intended).

And Red Jackard:
If you need that answered:

a) You haven't read any of the website
b) You haven't watched TV or Movies or played a video game other than DF (EDIT: Or read a book) in the past EVER
OR
c) This site's form of humor isn't your thing.
