Banery Fruit

A fruit cultivated in areas with high levels of [Empyrean Energy]. Due to the rarity of such locations, orchards are often highly protected from such dangerous subversives as [Atavist Knights].
Banery vine, Mirabilis sanguinaeum, grows at a slow pace over a long time, but once grown, harvests come steadily. Both the fruit's and the vine's growth can be greatly accelerated by 'watering' it with human blood. While officially banned, this practice is very common; one investigation found evidence of sacrifice at every orchard within 3 days' travel from Slatearch.
The fruit is toxic in its raw state, but becomes safe to eat after being boiled thrice, with the water disposed of after each boiling. Besides as an expensive culinary wonder, the juice of boiled Banery fruit is also used in making liquor, and as the finest of crimson dyes. Poison distilled from Banery fruit boiling water is notable for its use in the murder of [Jennings, Edward].

The clock's ticking in the OP, so I'd say the game is on. If I interpreted the rules correctly, the previous round's winner will be declared at the end of this round. Best not waste any time with the phantoms so the freely chosen entries can be made.

Boogaloos

The Boogaloos are adherents of the pseudoscientific religiou order of the Boogaloo, most notable for their crusades against "impure" humans, i.e. all mutants, those with [Clockwork Enhancements], or any others who could be considered not completely human.

When dealing with "pure" humans the Boogaloos are known to be quite amiable, eager to share their religious texts and scientific findings. The Boogaloos are responsible for spreading the [Assualt of the Sun] theory, helping man understand many advanced mathematical principles, and bringing various artifacts from the [Pre-collapse Era] to major hubs of civilization.

The sources of these findings are unknown, but it is rumored that the Boogaloos know what they do and recover what they can because they dare to breach the surface.

The origin of the name "Boogaloo" is similarly unknown and rumored to be connected to the Boogaloos' interest in, and possible presence on the surface.

Braddock Empire

The Braddock Empire has been the largest known civilisation of man since the collapse of [Great Iron Lung, The], with an estimated million denizens at the time of writing. It has lasted thousands of years, thanks to the wise and decisive leadership of the [Sabrel Regalis], implemented latterly by an assembly of lords and democratically elected senators seated in [Myrmidopolis].

Major conurbations of the Braddock Empire include Rivermold, Blackstone Edge, Grimpeak Cavern Central, Carbis, Granitedam, Slatearch, Cagstone Bend, Coalcrag, formerly [Carthal Sevris] and the capital city, [Myrmidopolis]. The Empire spans over a million square miles of cavern and tunnel, and generously incorporates countless urban sites, settlements, hamlets and other collections of man. There are thousands of languages and dialects spoken within the Empire, and similarly countless ethnic, religious and social groups within it. Each city or town is nominally ruled by the local lords, mayor, patriach, provost or other leader, though is in fact guided on all issues of import by the beneficient leadership of the [Sabrel Regalis].

The Braddock Empire is currently the largest innovator, producer of industrial goods, creator of living space, miner of [Avaldrite] and protector of the common good extant. It has taken unified military action on a large scale several times in history against existential threats to man, and is ever-vilgilant against new threats from the surface above or depths below. A triumphant defender of the weak, upholder of nobility and virtue, and glowing bastion against anarchy, the Braddock Empire is considered even by many of its competitors to be the shining hope of mankind.

Basilisk

The Basilisk is a rare snake-like predator that exists both on the surface, unfortunately for the [Ant Men], and below the ground. It has two main qualities helping it hunt: an ability to induce fear and paralysis with its gaze, and sheer size. Surface specimens may have distinctive abilities separate from those of the species as a whole due to mutations.

While the Basilisk is a fearsome predator, it is possible to slay it, with extreme difficulty. Teams of [Monster Hunters] often form to hunt Basilisks. The main reward for slaying a Basilisk are its eyes, which can be brewed into the incredibly valuable [Zanateum Extract] in combination with several other rare ingredients.

One in every thousand Basilisks is a Queen Basilisk. The eyes from a Queen Basilisk make a far more potent [Zanateum Extract], but slaying a Queen Basilisk is near impossible, not because the creature itself is dangerous, but because Queen Basilisks attract male Basilisks to them in great numbers to breed.

Black Blood

While black blood is well-known for religious purposes, documented cases of mutations have been observed to cause black, oily blood in otherwise known human. The chemical properties of this blood has changes as well; it is unstable in hot temperatures, and known to lead to spontaneous human combustion.

Other chemical properties include reacting with otherwise organic material to cause catastrophic dissolution of cell bonding which the mutant appears immune to, and being possibly one of the greatest lubricants; an issue underground where keeping parts running is inherently necessary. A more practical (though not much safer) application of black blood is in the creation of [Forgeblood Steel], a material known to be required for [Living Machines], as standard iron does not seem to be able to contain whatever vitae required for live to occur.

Botanical Horror
Occasionally, a ethereal creature will begin to materialize, and latch onto a physical object. When this happens, the creature will use it's limited ethereal abilities to construct a simple body for itself. This body is normally: Humanoid, quadrupedal, serpentine, or follows a similar pattern to an existing creature. The Creature usually prefers to use existing structures or components, such as machinery and bones/complete skeletons of deceased creatures, for this reason they are often mistaken for automations or undead. Botanical Horrors get their name from the [Ethereal Symbiotes] That grow on them, making them look like they have flowers or coral growing on them. The term 'horror' could be considered a misnomer, as there is nothing inherently dangerous about them, they are as likely to be dangerous as any animal. They range in size and intelligence, Some appear as small as cats, some as giant as the biggest of titans. They have a similar range of intelligence, some having only simple minds, while others rival the intelligence of the smartest of humans. Occasionally, a special type of [anomaly] will cause an extremely large number of ethereal creatures to materialize in one area.
