I wouldn't focus too much on what other people are picking, honestly. Just pick what feels interesting to you.

It's not that: I'm just trying to get a good idea of which role I'll get. I'm probably getting Pupil, as there's little competition, and I'm glad.

A few questions: will stats work just like in FEF, or will there be some differences? Also, how would you consider a unique trait of making/modifying/strengthening spellbooks/whatever we use for spells based on what I've experienced? For example, if I had the equivalent of Elfire and the last battle had a whole burning town, I could change it to casting  a mere Fire on two neighboring targets? (something like that)

Uhhh, maybe and would require more of a downside too prolly. We'll see, wait until stuff is chosen to think too hard about talents and such.

Two things. One, that would be one of the more drastic changes I'd make. Second, the amount of change would me dependent on the size/signifigance of the event. Seeing a house burn down might only be enough to increase an Elfire tome by 1. If you wanted, it could just be making utility spells. For example, a Wind tome into a tome that increases a single ally's movement by 1. Besides, it could often be balanced out by lowering the quality (or whatever the remaining-uses-left that is) enough.
