Overseers log

5th of Granite
I have assumed control of Koshzon, and took stock of our condition.

21st of Granite
After searching for the kennels for hours I have decided to order a new one dug out near the tavern.

24th of Granite
While visiting the hospital I reached a horrible realization, were out of soap!

1st of Slate
I was looking over the list of occupants when I found this disturbing number.

This will have to be remedied. (OOC: Seriously why do we have 158 animals?)

5th of Slate
The soap workshops have been completed and have started to produce soap.

8th of Slate
I have seen many of the citizens walking around with nothing but rags on their bodies. I have ordered 25 new sets of clothes in response.

9th of Slate
The new mayoral quarters are approaching completion.

Why wouldn't we have 158 animals? I like animals! I always buy all the animals from caravans, then set them free and usually pet-eligible. :P

Overseer's Log

11th of Slate
I ordered a slab for Solon, and now it is ready to be placed. But I can't find where we put the dead people.  So I just looked over three years of buildings and it appears we don't have a single coffin or memorial. So I have ordered a new crypt put in.

24th of Slate
A wereskink has been found! Raise the alarm! Rally the military!

24th of Slate
Three are infected one will probably die before the next full moon. the other two will have to be quarantined. Well I must get to work I suppose.

25th of Slate
Shorast had his upper spine torn open, he died before he reached the hospital. As sad as it may be it means one less werebeast to deal with.

26th of Slate
I have decided to give the populace a vote on what we do with the wereskinks. I will report in with the verdict.
(OOC Sorry for short update I just thought it would be fun to give you the option of what to do with the infected.)

I built that little pyramid thing out to the west of the entrance for storing werebeasts. The only problem was that they all killed each other when they transformed, so if you want to use that but keep the werebeasts you should probably have them dig out individual cubbies to hide in during the full moon. Or whatever you find fun, of course.

Did you automate the clothing production?

That's larger than usual crypt for a single dwarf.

If the werebeasts have any good skills could make them produce goods in isolation with praying. With proper setup they won't even destroy the workshops and bed each month.

I didn't automate it just ordered some new pairs of clothes.  Also the crypts are for any future dead as well.

This feels like an old sucspession fort through and through.
Let it dig... Deep inti the earth... Snd let us face what we may meet down there... And let us destroy it.

Overseers Log

28th of Slate
A small gate house has been started outside.

1st of Hematite
Summer has arrived!

3rd of Hematite
The Voidspawn have arrived!

4th of Hematite
The workers that were outside at the time report that there are only 10 voidspawn.

The voidgod and his squad will be advancing shortly.

5th of Hematite
One of the voidsquad, Shem has hauled himself into the hospital. It appears his whole left hand was smashed apart he claimed that a wrestler snapped his wrist. I have my doubts and have locked the door to his hospital room.
6th of Hematite
My worst fears has been realized while heading into the hospital to check up on him, as I peered through a small slit I saw what became of him. A creature no longer like the dwarf we once knew, his hair and skin a charcoal black and eyes glazed a color as white as chalk. Beside him sat a pile of adamantine gear.

(OOC: Also, it says voidspan and not voidspawn. ;P)
7th of Hematite
I have just received reports and have gone to inspect the battlefield. As I approached the tainted field I saw one of the voidsquad approaching the entrance. I approached him and ordered them to report down to the hospital to deal with the infected soldier. Inspecting the field I found only one dead dwarf.

9th of Hematite
One of the soldiers was wounded putting down Shem. He has also been quarantined.

Apparently I can't spell then. Also, good call on the wrestler. That's the reason I built the hospital like that to begin with.

You do dare, do you? Nice. Now, got to find some migrants..

And heh, sieged by html elements. Not the strangest things one might see in dwarf fortress :P

Given it went so long unnoticed, I'm reminded of human brain's autocorrect. Wonder if one could construct a more efficient language that takes advantage of our ability to ignore mistakes on the fly? Nobody could learn it, though.

Overseers Log

10th of Hematite
The first batch of soap and clothes has been finished. The crypts have had the coffins placed in them as well.

12th of Hematite
While inspecting the butcher shop I came across this disturbing task.

Well I suppose its better then clogging up the refuse piles.

13th of Hematite
The humans have arrived!

Well, to be fair, this is the first time we've actually been attacked by voidspawn, as far as I know. Certainly there weren't any in my turn. I got the demons instead.
So do we kill the humans or not in this fortress?
We have no tradition of killing the humans, but I doubt anyone would mind if you started one. Or you could capture them to release as a sacrifice next siege.
