Curiously it seems Chutkan delayed the D.C. case.

In other non-news, Willis only developed a relationship with Wade AFTER she had already hired him, neither of them have or had anything to gain financially from the RICO case, they're just obvious targets for republicans due to being black.

You can gauge how he feels about the various cases by how he presents them/attacks them, he's trying to argue some nonsensical immunity bullshit for the DC one because it's the only conceivable out he can imagine, he's happy to be quiet about the docs case as long as Cannon is sitting on it, he's livid about the Carroll trials and the fraud trial, while the only avenue available against the RICO case is "OH LOOK, BLACK PEOPLE, HEY FASCISTS CHECK OUT THESE BLACK PEOPLE GOING AFTER ME!"

...he doesn't call them "black people".
This forum forbids the language that Trump uses.

DeSantis is probably going to be Trump's Vice-President pick. The guy that loyally aided the Bush administration torture people can be counted on to support Trump's next coup attempt. After Pence backstabbed Trump to save America (which never gets old, by the way), I'm sure Trump's #1 concern is the loyalty of the person he picks for Vice-President. This is a GOOD thing, since Trump-Haley could actually WIN.

DeSantis took several swings at Trump. Trump's black hole of an ego will never accept him as anything but an enemy after that.

Nah.
At least in his first Presidency (when he was markedly more sane), he promoted plenty of people that insulted/disagreed with him.
I doubt DeSantis was tough enough to do anything that would earn Trump's actual enmity.

Although, because Trump wants a loyalist for his Vice-President, he might go with a complete nobody that absolutely owes everything to him.
It has been his strategy with the few legal counsel he has actually kept. DeSantis would be too high-profile.

Trump likes parading former opponents at his rallies as long as they say nice things to him.

It’s basically parading your fallen foes’ heads in a more civilized way.

Trump needs consolidation of the GOP base... This is going to be more important to him than picking a "loyal" VP. He would take DeSantis/Scott/Ramaswamy if it brings voters back to him.

So, considering the influence that Israel has in American politics, which political group in Israel would want Biden, which would want Trump, and which would want Haley?

Trump is on fire, Biden has staff making trouble for Bibi's gang, and Haley just starting talking back about Biden's sanctions on Israeli's in the West Bank. I think she just got Bibi's support...
Any answer to this question is blatantly anti-semitic, so hard pass.
Are you suggesting that Israel wants everyone to "speak to the hand and not the face, but to believe when the face speaks to you?"

That, free movement through and ability to work in one of the largest polities in the world without having to deal with our fucked up immigration or visa processes, the forms of assistance embassies can provide (which from what I understand aren't trivial, if they don't decide to shit on you for being poor or foreign or something), access to federal programs of various sorts (which is significantly more attractive if you're not, like, poor, tbh), birthright citizenship for your children, so on and so forth. It's mostly residence and ability to participate freely in the economic and political spheres, but that's legitimately a really damn big thing when you're talking what amounts to the current world hyperpower, even if you don't intend to live there or visit much or at all.

There's also a reason many ex-pats retain citizenship even with the hassle that involves, heh.
But the US is not a particularily nice place to live as far as the western world goes. I can understand why you'd rather have an US passport than, say, a Cambodian one. But for instance pretty much any EU passport would get you at least the same perks, if not more.

Yes, but despite US Propaganda, the US passport is easier to get than the EU passport.
Plus, you sorta get what you get with citizenship. I can't be born in Europe, nor can a European be born in the US. So the free & easy way is out.

...
This was the correct answer the first time. There is no answer that can't be construed as anti-semitic. Hard pass.

I will say, don't discuss Israel, but rather discuss Palestinians, and you'll get a completely different answer. You are asking the wrong question.

I mean… criticizing Israeli political groups isn’t anti-Semitic, unless you’re criticizing them for being Jewish, which doesn’t (shouldn’t?) include Jewish political parties.

It’s quite a scary idea though, that the prospect of being called anti-Semitic has such a stifling effect on someone’s willingness to offer a viewpoint.

nor can a European be born in the US.
Maybe that was the 'problem' Boris Johnson tried to solve?

(Ok, so he wasn't a technical European until about a decade after he became a technical American...)

I mean… I have a child, both American and European, assuming we still consider Britain European.

Yeah can we please not pull the "criticizing a country's government automatically transfers to their citizens and now you hate that country" card?
