I read that in Professor Farnsworth's voice, was that reference intentional?

Usually a quote is placed to reply. Did you intend to reply? If so, with what?

Common forum etiquette is that a quote with no reply (AKA an "emptyquote") is used to simply restate the quoted statement either for agreement, or to point out that you are getting the joke, depending on context.

Plot twist: That's not a deepfake, that's just her disfigured brother.
It is as if the algorithm sometimes generates a horribly disfigured siamese twin.

The landscape backgrounds often have floating cigarette burns or - in one - alien looking worms. Otherwise, incredibly impressive stuff.

Anyway, I came here to ask if anyone else was feeling pretty optimistic for once about the US. Could some amount of change actually be coming?

Nobody's ever lost money betting against the American people. The system will face increased stress, but nothing will change as such.

Doubt it.  People in the US are too self centered for change.  Healthcare failure won't change anything.  Unemployment failure won't change anything.  Anti police-militarism won't change anything.

Those are not errors. Those are signs the program isn't actually making up portraits but instead collecting them from a dangerous and creepy alternative universe.

Donnie Boy is really cuddling up to that oppressive regime vibe lately..

You KNOW it's damning when FORBES thinks it's too much.

I think Forbes and Washington Post is trying to push for Biden. He's certainly conservative enough for them, plus he's been in charge of making the banks billions through lawmaking.

Good news, everyone! After a few months of dead cat bounce printed fresh and hot from the Fed, we've just had the 40th worst trading day of the past hundred years! Annihilation is back on track!

Don't blame the Fed for that one, blame Robinhood.

Trump rally attendees now have to sign a waiver that if they get COVID-19 it's not Donny's fault.

https://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/donald-trump-juneteenth-tulsa-rally-attendees-must-sign-coronavirus-waiver/news-story/2a29d441c116734eb0ca28fb347037c1

Always the one for completely short-sighted self-interest is old Donny. The optics on making people sign the waiver is just bad, and if people do get Covid at the rally then the news is going to constantly remind everyone about the waivers Donny made them sign. Come on Donny, it'd be smarter politically to just have the rally pretending Covid isn't a thing, then if someone sues you, you just gotta stall them for a few months until the election is over. You don't legally protect yourself with a big public "fuck you if you get the plague lowly followers" thing.

EDIT: there is a difference between Donny's campaign protecting itself ("Donald J Trump for President, Inc") and Donny himself protecting himself here but most people wouldn't draw that distinction however. Donny probably wasn't involved in this decision. But that's part of the problem. Trump is a big "ideas" (heh) man, doesn't do detail or facts very well, whoever wrote this stuff up is covering their asses and they get paid whether Trump wins or loses.

Trump doesn't take orders as well as Biden. They've been critical of Trump a few times, because they win either way.

Edit: Odds on either major-party candidate saying this is bad?

Staggeringly low to even talk about it at all. I'd expect the amount of time any of them spend on the campaign trail talking about messed up urls to be exactly zero :P
