Yeah that $1.5T liquidity operation was dumb. Especially since the market didn't even "buy" it (heh).

I mean, they sorta' bought it for like... three hours. That's how long the bump lasted. Then they were like, "Oh, wait, people are still going to be burying hundreds of thousands of pandemic victims over the next year or two, time to go back to shitting the bed and dying!"

Behold the wonders of Free Market capitalism. It's fine until people start losing money, then the government jumps in to bail them out.

And people call Bernie a socialist. FFS.

That's right.

"There's unemployment benefits right there dude. Sorry you lost millions of dollars of other people's money, but them's the breaks. Have a roll of food stamps."

That should be the bail-out.

Haven't you heard? We don't do foodstamps anymore. The proud American taxpayer is burdened no longer by the weight of the parasites nipping at our boots.

(The program still exists but has been dramatically cut down.)

That's terrible. Among other things that will cut jobs and lead to more economic instability.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression Donald Trump cares about the working person.

He does seem to care about unemployment and economic instability, based on his speeches.  They need to look good, even if it means changing the underlying metrics.  Fortunately for him he has a scapegoat for the economic disaster he's summoned.  Two, if he loses the election.

So...

Older people have far more cause to be afraid of Covid-19 than young people do.  Younger people are far more afraid of what disaster capitalism with do with this situation than they are of the virus itself.

There's 56% of delegates in the primary still unassigned -- 2223 left against a lead of 156.

Is it too optimistic to believe that maybe voters over 50 will stay huddles in corners with their toilet paper, and younger voters can easily outnumber them now if they stay motivated?

Nevermind the massive windfall it is to the top issue Bernie's been campaigning on for two election cycles.

My son and I were talking about this and he labeled this political strategy the "Boomer Remover Maneuver".  It really is an incredible piece of ironic justice that this is happening now.

In spite of being scheduled to receive another trillion in free money, stock futures are plummeting overnight again.

Is this it? Is this truly, at last, the Great Annihilation? Because once the consequences of this go beyond Number Go Down I don't see any way the US recovers ever again, not even the fake recovery we got from 08.

While this is a pretty alarming stock market crash, it's worth keeping in mind that so far it's only erased about a year to a year and a half's worth of gains.  It makes it feel like last year's gains have been very artificial.

It'll be interesting to see how a certain half of the media processes all this. Current bets for near-future Fox News segments:

- Was the "chinese virus" in fact planned retaliation personally targeting the president?
- Are deepstate Obama-era "liberal fascists" sabotaging the government to help fellow socialist Joe Biden come November?
- To what degree is Obamacare worsening the crisis, and isn't it a shame that the obstructionist Democrats prevented its repeal?
- How does coronavirus fit into the leftist plot to replace Americans with immigrants?

Infowars is cashing in with a range of anti-coronavirus stuff, and has been ordered to stop-the-fuck-doing-that.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said Thursday that her office has ordered InfoWars’ Alex Jones to immediately stop selling and marketing products as a “cure” or “treatment” for the coronavirus.

Jones has been selling toothpaste, creams and several other products that claim to treat or prevent and cure the coronavirus COVID-19.

My sister and her husband looked into MREs (partially as virus prep and partially because they get floods/hurricanes) and they were sold out with 8 months backorder... I guess those bunker builders were right all along.
