Though there is apparently also a lot of Islamophobics that have been coming out of the wood work since Trump has been gearing up for war. I noticed a lot of the news on both sides of the aisle is anti-saudi arabia. Which seems like a bunch of bigots to me, a reason just to hate a middle east nation just because they are muslim. Even if Saudi just wants oil (pretty sure that is what the Iran thing is really about), it gives racists a reason to be either anti-saudi arabia or anti-iran or both.
Read the actual complaints. Saudi Arabia has a lot of human rights issues, especially in their human rights for women:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_rights_in_Saudi_ArabiaThe World Economic Forum's 2016 Global Gender Gap Report ranked Saudi Arabia 141 out of 144 countries for gender parity,[6] down from 134 out of 145 in 2015.
Additionally, many of the terrorists in 9/11 came from Saudi Arabia. Not because Saudi Arabia supports terrorism, but because the Saudi Arabian dictatorship is so oppressive that they rise up against it, and the USA is seen as militarily propping up Saudi Arabia. Which is true. Trump for example signed a deal to send $350 billion worth of military equipment to Saudi Arabia over 10 years. Which is a phenomenal amount of hardware. Saudi Arabia is now the third highest spender on weapons after USA and China. Yes, Saudi Arabia is more militarized now than
Russia or any European nation. This is important to keep in mind. Saudi Arabia is trying to set itself up as an all-powerful military hegemony in the region, and this is spilling over into clashes inside neighboring nations as Saudi Arabia extends its zone of influence and control. The media portrays Saudi Arabia as minding their own business, then Iran meddles in their neighboring nations and Saudi Arabia is just defending themselves. This is really really not true. Saudi Arabia is building a vast military juggernaut and they're not doing that just for border defense, because
there are no real threats on their borders, Iran is miles away and has far less military spending. Saudi Arabia is extending their zone of influence through military power, and that's the source of those bordering conflicts. Iran is then allying with locals who oppose Saudi Arabia.
Those seeking to overthrow the Saudi Arabian government rightfully look at the USA as the biggest impediment to that goal. The Egyptian dictatorship under Mubarak was in a similar situation. Hence the number of Saudi Arabians and Egyptians involved in 9/11. But, Saudi Arabia is far more of military dictatorship juggernaut than Egypt ever was.
