I wonder how much you can extrapolate that to the Democrats, sure, many of their accusations and concerns are stuff that they'll do, but things get pretty extreme depending on who you listen to and I don't think there is a Democrat who is as far left on the left spectrum as the far right are on theirs since even the most far-left Democrat that I know of has trouble breaking out of center on the European politics scale, let alone reach the far left on their scale.

That I suppose, although I think it wouldn't be seen as trolling so much as confirming exactly what the Right already believes about the Left.

Speaking in generalized terms on interactions between left and right cultures as a whole, it's not worth caring.  In personal settings where some hint of sincerity can be found, yeah, it's worth trying to build that bridge.  But on a mass media stage, or internet comments, or interactions with public figures, etc, the lowest common denominator that unites their reactions on a large scale is so steeped in projection and confirmation bias that the reality of your behavior doesn't factor at all.  You can be perfectly humble and kind and do absolutely nothing that could be criticized, and they will invent alternative facts to pass around amongst themselves and become convinced that you were actually horrible.  And whatever they accuse you of will be something they're already doing or planning to do.  I came to the realization a couple years ago that the most reliable way to know what republicans are up to is to pay attention to their accusations and fears.  Whatever those are, that's what they're doing or going to do.

I mean, I hate to say it but I've seen the same behavior on the Left at times. Not every Republican is Trump. Not all Left leaning news sources vet their stories or keep it factual. While I get the sentiment and don't necessarily disagree, it's a bit much for me. It's easy to believe the worst about the Right and think better of the Left when Trump is the epitome of everything they don't support.

I wonder if at this point the best counter to the current moment is liberals getting as good at trolling conservatives as conservatives are at trolling liberals. Who wants to go run gay pride parades in incredibly conservative cities?

In this dark time, the Liberal Crime Squad is born...

Hey whoever said that there was no way the Democratic Socialists of America would get anybody in office? Well, one just did. Of course though, Crowleys major missteps like sending a surrogate to a debate and even skipping some didn't help either.

Her policies as described on that site are around Bernie Sanders level socialist, but I don't think are at the level that Europeans would call socialist or far left.

I swear it was you that said it, sorry.

Fixed. It's also a pretty big deal because Joe Crowley is the 4th highest ranking Dem in the House.

Doubtful. Least not vis a vis leaving the EU. Pretty sure those were all rendered down into haggis at some point, then used to pleasure impotent goats.

Hey man, I wouldn’t want to reduce the quality of haggis by putting them into it.

Look, I got enough scottish in me that when I make the "you got any scottish in you... want some" joke it's really dirty, but haggis should always be reduced... after being thoroughly oxidized... like "exciting flourine compounds were involved in the redox" thoroughly.

It's worth noting that social democratism is pretty much dead in Europe from how corrupted it's been by neo-liberalism since the 80's. There's hardly any left left in today's social democrat parties by our standards either.

Scriver, can I ask which country you're from?  My impression is that the UK + commonwealth countries have similar economic problems to the US (inefficient healthcare, corporate control of media, rising cost of living relative to income) but its not necessarily true in mainland Europe.  I haven't studied this mind you, its mostly from Canadian/UK online friends.
