Pompeo would at least be more effective against NK since he knows all their secrets. Plus theres the fact that Trump listens to him and actually likes him.

Anyhow, I wonder what the final straw was here for Trump.

Tillerson: Maybe we should negotiate with NK
Trump: Shut up and don't interfere with my plans to threaten with war

<later>

Trump: We should have a friendly meeting with Kim!
Tillerson: I'm fired?

We might as well just say Snowflake, whoever we are and whoever we're therefore disparaging. (As an added bonus, it annoys all those who are not lillywhite(!) Does that sound good to you?)

I use SJW as a neutral term, mainly because there is a clear and defined set of ideas acting as a basement for a number of movements, but this set doesn't have a proper name. I'm reffering to the people on the left that are, like their right wing counterpart, obsessed with sex, race and gender roles. You can call that like you want, really, words are just words, I'll go with whatever term you thinks fits as long as we keep it well defined

In my experience, they are the main danger to the left today - they infect easily people on the left that are sensible minded and issue oriented, because they talk loud and in simple words, provide one-size-fit-all solutions and call for blood, and in the end always go unchallenged.

Actually, it looks like the final straw was Tillerson getting ahead of Trump on the ex-spy nerve gas attack in the UK.

Okay, lets go with snowflakers for those on the right and snowflakels for those on the left. (spontaneously joking sarcastically here)

Remember when we were worried about Tillerson being an oil exec and having Russian ties?

Yeah. Good times.

Yeah. Good times.

That feel when the white house look like a telereality version of a murder novel.
Also, afaik, Russia involvement in the electoral process has been accepted as a fact by the republican majority, which is already progress.

Also I do not believe Trump is Putin's puppet, his reactions are erratic and only align on occasion on russian interests. I believe he's dumb and easily manipulated by his overinflated ego, but his actions doesn't look like he's under control of anything
Sorry to bring back the tariffs issues, but this is clearly not something russia has any interest in.

The fact that he is such a suckup to Putin is still wierd considering things, fuelling speculation that Putin has something embarrassing on Trump.

Though you do have a point, he's not exactly completely caving to Putin. Still don't understand why he doesn't do something about election meddling when he gets so triggered* over the appearance of being illegitmate or tainted.

*Honestly, anybody would, but he isn't doing anything about it, which you'd think said triggered person would try to do.

Each time Putin is disapointed, another porn star lawyers up. The first one was just to send a message

You know the newly nominated CIA director, Gina Haspel, who was involved in the torture of some people in Thailand and the destruction of evidence? Well, Edward Snowden (whatever your opinions are on him), makes an extremely good point on the fact that she could face arrest if she ever travelled to Europe. Plus the values implied.

Yeah, even though you'd expect the CIA director to have immunity, the fact that theres at least one warrant around for her arrest poses a real problem. Let alone her own past.

I certainly hope he has a plan/option B since she's going to have a hard time getting approved by the Senate.

Are you sure about that ? Sounds counterintuitive. CIA has no juridiction over anything in europe and is not a diplomatic body. I can't think of a reason to grant immunity to the head of the intelligence of a foreign country, but I can think of plenty of reasons not to.

I mean, would you even imagine something like "sorry, you can't arrest me : I'm a spy"

I thought there was something for cabinet members abroad. Still, it'd be an unprecedented situation, I don't know of any (US) Cabinet members being in this kind of situation where they have an arrest warrant for something abroad in an allied country.

I don't see any obvious precedent for such a situation. (I.E. Crimes committed before diplomatic immunity came into effect.)

However regardless of the rights of EU countries to arrest a cabinet member, they'd be perfectly within their rights to refuse entry.
