It is a common tactic to discredit an undesired position; Claim it is not a true scottsman.

Neon's basic argument is that Male only dorms (frat houses) are being closed due to the notion that they are gender discriminatory, while female only dorms (Sorority houses) remain.

Neon pointed out that this is the case.  Class dismissed.

It was only one frat house according to Neonivek, I think.

Frat houses are being closed largely because they're wretched hives of scum and villainy, not because of gender exclusion. Most of the NCSU ones that I know of which have been shuttered in the last few years were due to underage drinking, drugs, rape/sexual assaults, and general douchebaggery.

But I'm less concerned about that right now than I am about Trump and KJU holding a nuclear dick-swinging contest.

The big thing that seems to be happening with fraternities is that the party frats are all going independent and spreading to students by social media, while university-affiliated ones are just business or religious clubs that formally have no social aspect.

Yeah, the entire 'Greek fraternity system' has been plagued by all of that. There's good ones that don't do all of that out there for sure, but it's apparently near impossible to get rid of the problems.

Trump is what changed, what with his bashing of China and ranting at them. Might have been a concession to try and look like they're doing something. Russia also joined in though. Plus things have been escalating a bit recently.

First, the US now has a lunatic that just might be willing to go head-to-head with their lunatic instead of trying for a slower but safer diplomatic or domestic solution to the problem.

Second, their lunatic has (or soon will have) the capability to actually hurt the US, making going head-to-head with their lunatic look like more like ripping off a band-aid by the day.
